LOVE THIS SHOP
It's really quite small but it is crammed with good stuff. I can always find something in here I want, or something in here that would make the perfect gift for a friend or loved one. Cute, quirky things of all sorts. If I am ever stumped for a gift I just head over here and I'm always successful.
The staff are friendly too but they are more than happy to quietly let you wander and check out all the wonderful treasures buried in this little store.
They have everything from beautiful jewelry, to sassy Anne Taintor products, great travel accessories, cute aprons, candles and other aroma therapy items, and they even have a small section of baby and maternity items.
Can't say enough wonderful things about this place!! Good stuff! -

Once in a while a store comes along that excels at appealing to double X chromosomes. It reaches and grabs women as they pass, enticing them to come in and check out the giftware. I have never failed at finding a nice gift for a lady if I shop at Land and Sea.
They have jewelry, books and journals, decorations and houseware stuff, purses, bath stuff and little gifts that are just adorable. They also have some limited kid's stuff and travel accessories, and a pretty nice selection of cards. It's like a one stop girl-gift shop.
I love the books which are all pretty eclectic and funny. There are bad-girls guides, and sex manuals, and "porn for women" (hunks with their shirts off doing housework) as well as books on yoga and traveling. The white walls and bright lighting help you pin-point on just the right item. Some of my favourite purchases have included: a voodoo toothpick holder, some funny books and a really nice tea pot. Even when I don't have gifts I love to pop in for a browse. -

Land and Sea is one of those gift stores you go to when you cannot come up with what to buy someone either because you don't know them very well (buying for an office secret Santa for example) or because you just aren't very good at shopping. If you are in the last category don't expect to get all of your shopping done in this one store; it isn't the cheapest place in town and it's more then a little 'girly' so don't expect to find anything for your man friend there.
Their selection is always changing but they usually have books, some fashion accessories, a few baby or toddler toys, cards and stationary, jewelry, and a lot of odds and ends.
The staff is inattentive and often short-handed but friendly and helpful when you do get their attention. -

I've got this friend who is IMPOSSIBLE to shop for. She's got everything she needs, and she buys everything she wants. What's someone supposed to do with that when her birthday comes around? Enter Land & Sea.
I never knew this store existed in Calgary until one stressful afternoon (the afternoon before her party) where I was on a mission to get her SOMETHING. It didn't have to be mind-blowing, but it DID have to exist.
I wandered into Land & Sea and my problems suddenly dissipated. This store has everything you could want a gift store to have. If you're shopping for someone who only likes 'useful' gifts, I wouldn't recommend it, but if you're shopping for a not-so-common, neat gift, then definitely hit it up!
They've got everything from picture frames, to tea selections, to luxury pillows to knickknacks.
I ended up picking up a high-quality box of tea bags that come in silk sachets and are in prism form. I know right - she probably didn't have time to buy herself THAT. SCORE!
Land & Sea is like a high-quality 'SanFrancisco' store. It's got everything that you may have created when you let your mind wander, and at Land & Sea, you can actually package this stuff up and give it as thoughtful and unique gifts!
