I've been skiing at Lake Louise since I was a child and I am extremely impressed with how the resort has been run since it is no longer part of RCR.
Skiers of all abilities will find themselves entertained here, and the Lake Louise Plus card offers great value and can be used at other resorts in BC. This resort is well worth the extra drive from Banff.
Not to be ignored for the summer season either. -

The view, wow! I can't help but to take a minute and admire the view from the top of the mountain! At times the wind did come in heavy and you couldn't see anything around you, but when it's clear, it's beautiful up here.
The mountain itself for snowboarding, was pretty nice. We were fortunate to have fresh powder when we got here and explored as much as we could. This mountain had many open runs and open spaces. Many trails untouched and not restricted to a path. For terrain park junkies, they have a pretty nice set up and even a beginner's park area! So don't worry, your first jump won't be 10 feet high lol.
This is a nice mountain and I'll give you 5 stars on the view, 4 on the size and runs, and 3 on the price. This resort is a decent size, but $80 for a full day lift and it ends at 4pm is a bit excessive for me. I've been to cheaper and better mountains than this one (in terms of runs). -

Lake Louise, we meet again!! Once again, I was able to brave your snowy slopes, pave my way through icy paths, and enjoy myself in a skier's paradise. This place is nothing short of awesome!!
The runs were not icy. They were well groomed and free of rocks, debris, and tree branches. There is always at least a 1 inch layer of snow on the ground, and if there is not enough natural snow, then the resort makes their own. When I came, the snow machine was even tilted toward the lift, spraying snow over the chairlifts. What a sight!
This place is amazing, from the scenic snowy landscape to the numerous skiing and snowboarding runs that criss-cross the mountain slope. Be warned: the Black Diamonds are almost always filled with moguls!! This can either be a skier's worst nightmare or a snowboarder's dream playground. Unfortunately for me, it was the former. Ha ha! I prefer to stay on the Blue colored runs, but even these slopes tend to be a bit challenging, so be cautious and safe.. common sense.
Although I had to endure a three hour car ride to drive up to Banff from Calgary, it was definitely worth it. The experience was out-of-this-world, and I definitely recommend coming here to ski or snowboard. Both beginners and experienced people can have a great time here and enjoy their stay. Let me stop now; I love Lake Louise so much that I'm beginning to sound like an advertisement. Ha Ha!!
Lake Louise, until next time.Listed in: Am I In Heaven??

The Lake Louise Ski Area is located just outside of its namesake Town Site, and is accessed conveniently from the Trans Canada. I came here during my 1st Honeymoon, skied here for several days, and am still raving about my experience. My only regret is that I haven't been back often enough. This is world class skiing and with stunning views of the Bow Valley to match..
The 139 marked ski runs and back bowls on four mountain faces are 25% beginner, 45% intermediate and 30% advanced. Four full service day lodges are operational during winter. The Lake Louise sightseeing gondola is also open year round, offering panoramas of glaciers, natural springs, wildflowers and possibly wildlife. Other activities in the resort area include heli-skiing, dog sledding, ice skating, and cross-country skiing. -

I love skiing. Every weekend Jan - Mar I can only be found on a mountain. There is something special about Lake Louise that keeps me coming back. It is comfortable, very family friendly, and even when it is busy you can feel like you are the only one there.
There are three main areas (Front, Back, and Larch) which ensure shelter from the wind because you can always find a protected face. The powder bowls on the back side (accessible by the Summit Platter lift) are my favorite. They are usually less crowded and always have the best snow.
There is a main lodge at the base of the mountain and one at the bottom of the Larch area. On sunny days they usually have an outdoor BBQ going at both locations. If you bring your own food I highly recommend bringing food that can be eaten cold as you can wait for a microwave 15+ minutes during the lunch peak.
Louise is a great mountain that I highly recommend for all ages and skill levels. -

I preferred Louise over Sunshine, I liked the lay out the abundance of trails and the fact that you have more than one face of the mountain to board or ski on...
Runs for everyone, young and old alike, no real flat spots to be worried about (when boarding)..
I prefer more Pow, but what can you do, you get what Mother Nature gives! The groomed runs were really good, but I did manage to find some Pow to play the day away in!
Its worth the extra drive to get here, and if you can I would advise like every resort, to avoid the weekends and holidays. Go on a weekday, a WORLD of difference! -

One of the premier ski resorts in Alberta, Lake Louise offers an afternoon of winter fun. I started my day with a two hour snowboard lesson with super friendly NIck and ended the day with a run down Upper Wiwaxy.
With over 130 runs, there's plenty of skiing for everyone of all levels. -

Lake Louise is probably the best ski resort in Alberta and the natural beauty of the Banff National Park offers a brilliant mountain wonderland. It's fairly far from Calgary (about an hour and a half drive), but the trip is always well worth what you spend on gas to get out there. Man-made snow isn't something these guys blow frequently. The groomed runs at the base of the mountain are often supplemented by man-made snow, but the rest of the mountain usually receives ample snowfall.
With over 4,200 skiable acres, 139 named runs, and limitless off-piste adventures, Lake Louise is one of the largest mountains in North America. If you're not a big skier, but still want to experience the mountains, Lake Louise provides a green run down from each lift.
My only qualm with Lake Louise is that it can get rather busy. Thankfully, with so much off-run terrain and back-country options available, this isn't really a big issue.
Their bowls, chutes, and runs through the glades make Lake Louise a snowboarders paradise. Definitely check out this mountain. Lift tickets here can be rather pricey: $80 for a full day. Be sure to bring your wallet as rentals and food in their lodge is ridiculously expensive. -

This resort is awesome! We skied here 2 days and loved every minute of it. The powder bowls in the back of the mountain were a blast! In a couple of spots the powder was so deep it came up to my knees. The 2nd day we were the very first people on the mountain and immediately went straight to the Summit lift and rode the blue run down the back of the mountain (can't remember the name). It was the best run I've ever skied!
The scenery is beautiful and almost seems unreal. It was really cold so wearing a lot of layers is a good idea, as on any other mountain. All of the lifts were fast, and even though there were a lot of people at the resort, we never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes to get on a lift. All of the runs are very long so you will definitely get a good workout. There were a few heavily used green/blue runs near the gondola that had patches of ice, but otherwise this resort is highly recommended for anyone.
One word of advice, there is a green run that takes you from the Larch lift to the main entrance. Be careful when coming near the Ski Out run. I must have passed it or something, because I ended up skiing on a snowmobile route, a couple of wrong turns, and eventually ended up on a freeway. That was not fun trying to find my way back. Make sure you follow the signs for "Ski Out". There was another guy snowboarding that run that also said he thought he took a wrong turn somewhere, so I know I can't be the only person that has made this mistake. -

Louise is easily the best of the mountain resorts in Banff. The wide range of trails and varying difficulty gives an unending array of runs to board the day away.
Having tried Sunshine a day earlier, Louise offered a lot more varying terrain on the runs as well as more difficult runs than Sunshine did. Although Sunshine is a great resort as well, I really like Louise for the sheer size of the mountain as well as the different mountains/runs it offered. -
Review from Jean K.
It's difficult for me to really love Lake Louise resort because I only skied there half a day and there wasn't any fresh snow. We mostly did runs on the front and back off the Top of the World express. It was okay. We didn't try the Summit Platter because it's torture to boarders.

Nothing comes close. Talking about it is a waste of time. Lake Louise is the ultimate.
