Lake House is one of my favourite restaurants. The food is usually excellent and I find the prices to be decent for what and the quality you get. As others have expressed, I really don't understand how this place classifies itself as mediterranean (I guess they have greek salad on the menu...) but whatever it is, it's good.
This past Saturday, I had a baked brie wrapped in philo pastry to start (delish) and a HUGE portion of prime rib as my main. Usually, I prefer my beef in steak form (hey...that's just me), but after having the Lake House's prime rib, I was almost ready to convert - it was that good.
For the value-minded shoppers, I suggest going to Lake House between 4pm-6pm when a prix fixe menu is offered with the most popular menu items..$35 for app, main, dessert, coffee/tea. Good value for money.
Don't worry, you don't have to get there at 4pm to get the prix fixe...as long as you are in the door by 6pm, they'll take care of you... -

Lakehouse is an excellent place to escape the Niagara Falls chain restaurant malaise. Located about 20 mins outside of the Falls main drag, Lakehouse is within the Niagara wine region, which is vurtually unknown to us Yanks, and is deserving of its own Yelp category.
And yes, it has a stunning view of Lake Ontario.
Our family had an excellent post-winery crawl lunch here. I had a very well cooked Blackened Salmon with Guacamole and Sour Cream drizzle accompanied by an Arugula Salad with shaved Parmagiana cheese. My daughter had chicken fingers with sweet potato fries and a Shirley Temple, and was in heaven.
Highly recommended. -

As others have stated, the food is excellent! The only thing I would add is this, with the high quality of the good, and the prime location, one might expect the restaurant itself to be a bit more upscale.
Absolutely a must try if you are in the area, our even if you aren't. -

I LOVE this place! I had a hard time putting "Mediterranean" down for their restaurant category because their menu is really very large and varied. And yet, everything is always perfectly cooked.
My family and I went here for dinner on a Sunday at about 5 PM. We sat outside on their lovely outdoor patio and enjoyed dining al fresco while overlooking Lake Ontario. It was a perfect meal in every way.
My fiance got a prime rib and let me try it - he ordered it medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. My dad had the chicken risotto and let us all try a bit. The risotto was out of this world - it had a wonderfully smoky flavor to it and was so creamy and good.
My mom and I split a prime rib pizza. That pizza is literally what MADE me write this review. It was honestly one of the best pizzas I've ever had - the crust was just right and so buttery. The toppings on it were excellent, and the size for two of us was great. I also got a mediterranean salad (cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, feta cheese, lightly tossed with some olive oil - no lettuce) and was really pleased with how well it was seasoned.
The server - I believe her name was Jennifer - was efficient, friendly, and had we had any complaints at all, I'm sure she would have been responsive.
All in all, an excellent meal! I can't wait to go back.
