Dr Lai is an excellent doctor. As mentioned in someone else's post here, he is both compassionate and frequently late. ;-) But I would much rather put up with a bit of lateness to get the kind of quality doctor that he is.
I have a number of complicated medical issues and I never feel rushed.
He also knows when another doctor, like a specialist, can provide more value.
Best doctor I have ever had. -

This is an update: I like Dr Lai, he is compassionate and thorough, and although this is a busy office, they are taking steps to reduce the waiting. They have hired more staff, they have a decent voice mail tree, and you can get an appointment fairly easily. What was once an average 45-minute wait is down to about 20 minutes, which is more than reasonable, in my humble opinion. I'm impressed with their efforts to reduce waiting times. Also, if you have an urgent matter you can be seen the same day, which of course has a cascade effect on the wait times, and is completely acceptable, to me, at least. Nice to know you can see your doctor for an urgent matter and not have to go to emerg or a walk-in.
I saw Dr. Lai's locum once, when he was too busy, and the level of care I received from her was thorough, and I liked her manner.
Dr Lai also trains medical students, which is cool.
His receptionist, Michelle, is a very nice person and has a good memory for faces and names. I have received excellent care from this office.
He is always accepting new patients, as far as I currently know. No wonder they're so busy, but as I said, I'm impressed with the steps they've taken to increase their office efficiency, and I will happily continue to see Dr Lai and company for my health-care needs. Thank you, Dr Lai!
