I have eaten meals around the world, and I can say without hesitation, I had the best meal in my life. Stuffed artichoke, to the best (specially prepared) grilled octopus to the best lamb chops on the planet, beating any Greek restaurant in Chicago! (not an easy thing to accomplish). Owner was personable and the staff equally as nice.
Anywhere in the area, DO NOT PASS UP LA VERANDA!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 14, 20242 check-ins
So fresh and so yum! Huge portions excellent service. The vibe inside is also romantic and inviting. Our first visit here and we were blown away. We have very high expectations with Italian food and based on this visit the restaurant exceeded them! We can't wait to return and check out their love entertainment and more menu items! Everything tasted fresh and homemade.

Went here while on family vacation in pompano. The vibe of this place was awesome, we weren't expecting what we walked into! The comfy suede chairs, ambient lighting, all of it was great.
Now onto the meals- we're a big Italian family so we were ready to see what this place was about! My family got a mix of pastas, seafood specials and filets. No one had a single complaint about the food and honestly, it might have been the first time everyone was quiet stuffing their face.
I had the spaghetti and polpette and the meatballs were HUGE but so delicious. The whipped ricotta on top was the perfect touch. 10/10 recommend!Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Fran P.Pompano Beach, United States011Apr 22, 2024
Very slow service. The waiter kept saying the bread was in the oven and took time.... Unacceptable.... And then we never saw the waiter . Ambiance in patio was breathtaking however too too slow. Owner was very rude when approached politely to offer feedback. Never recommending this place and should've believed the reviews.

Wow! Just wow.
When you walk in you are taken through a small quaint what looks like an Italian alley way. Into the restaurant. The restaurant takes you back to someone's backyard but also to someone's cute romantic intimate stage restaurant.
They do have live local bands Fridays and Saturday's.
Service:
The service started off a little slow but once we were attended to it was beyond amazing. The waitress presented us with all the options available and even helped us pair a wine with our food.
Food:
The bolognese was sooooo good! It was meaty and the red sauce tasted like it was made from
Scratch. My boyfriend tried their pear pasta which was in a white sauce. SO DIFFERENT BUT DELICIOUS! who would've thought pear and cheese go so well together. It was like a stuffed ravioli.
Ambiance:
We went on a Thursday around 8pm. They allowed us to stay past closing time and even sang me happy birthday! It is vey intimate and not as busy on a Thursday.
Can't wait to go back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Oct 7, 2023Updated review
Such a beautiful restaurant for two ,alone or a party celebration. Good food, great service by Christine tonite and wonderful Sinatra type live music.

By myself, I just went to the little cozy bar for a yummy cosmopolitan made by a friendly bartender. Nice Tony Bennett music playing in the background. Enjoyed my drink with a nice couple who came in and sat at the bar. Saw servers Christine and Joey said, hello and goodbye. Must come back for dinner with my hubby.
Feb 24, 2023Previous reviewCelebration birthday dinner for husband, Les tonite with our son Matt and his wife Taleessa and their friend visiting from Boston.
LaVeranda has such a beautiful and romantic ambiance. Live music from
the " The Lab"
We had great service from our friendly and efficient server. Didn't get his name, he was bald and from NY. LOL
We had drinks and wine and appetizers, bread and water were served promptly.
We each ordered dinner, very large portions! Live music was awesome, a couple dances and fun!
Dessert was yummy and a happy birthday song from the servers!
We all had a wonderful dinner and a great time! I recommend for sure. - Feb 3, 2023

Date Night is a warm feeling moved by taste, sound and ambiance- La Veranda met my expectations tonight.
Chelsea was wonderful! Had reservation, seated right away close to the music as requested, however didn't realize it'll be too loud to have normal conversation. Owner happened to stop by, Hubby asked about table numbers in the back for next time, and he moved us there instead. Very unexpected and appreciated!
Wine: Josh Cab Sauv
Appetizer: Mussels/Red sauce paired with fresh bread.
Hubby: Lasgna Della Mamma
Me: Paccheri Shrimp/Vodka sauce
We savored every bite, tasting each other's dish and finished the bottle.
Ambiance: The move to the back/ left room to the stage, made it all the better. Music isnt as loud as it is close to the stage. The owner, i think his name is Giuseppe (if not mistaken) is a good singer/piano player - smokey & raspy voice..ill see if i can post the video i took with his bird-Gino (i think that his name) perched on his shoulder.
Tricia Danieli has a wonderful warm full bodied voice as well, reminds of Amy Winehouse.
Absolutely loved the experience and recommend to anyone seeking date night ideas. Good for groups too. Will be back to enjoy dinner in the courtyard.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 164292296Jun 21, 2023
Two friends and I went here to celebrate a birthday. I loved the ambiance, with the dim lights, music memorabilia, and cozy atmosphere. They brought us bread including garlic and brioche. The bread was delicious. I ordered the wild mushroom risotto for my entree. It was a very large portion, but it was bland. I had some of the leftovers for lunch today and tried adding salt, but it was still bland. The price was $29, and for a non-meat or seafood meal, I expected more. My friend thought his meal was average also. The service was ok, but not great. The server was really friendly and sweet, but we waited a while to get service and I don't believe she checked on our meal after it came out. I think La Veranda would be good for a romantic dinner, however, I think the chef and management should look into the entrees and the service.

I went to this restaurant tonight for my aunt's birthday and WOW. The absolute best authentic Italian restaurant I've been to, and I'm a South Florida native. The vibe and ambiance of this restaurant was so incredibly unique, the service was impeccable, and the owner- I mean seriously, by far the most personable, humorous, welcoming, & friendly guy. The food was absolutely outstanding, you're really paying for a real, authentic Italian dish. The best part of the night was the live music. Everyone was singing along, dancing, we had an incredible time and we will absolutely be back!

Live locally and a few people have recommended La Veranada. Table for 4 a Tuesday night outside in the courtyard. Parking lot located behind the building with direct entrance just East of the building.
Very Tuscany, dark and romantic.
* Weekend they have live music after a certain hour, turns it a lounge/bar.
Sadly, Maybe it was just the slow vibe on a Tuesday night but our waiter showed his boredom with his 1 tone for the specials, and a bland table talk.
Our table had the bolognese, chicken francese and the pasta i calarmai. The pasta calamari was supposed to come in a spicy marinara but they missed the spice to the grain of salt. With additional disappointment we shared a $40 bottle of Josh Cabernet . In walegreens in a $7.99 dollar.... Everyone else's meals seem to have been enjoyed. I would recommend the chicken francese.
I did not say anything about my meal as the other entrees were fine. I assumed this is the way it came and was very disappointed.
I'll give this spot another try as it did come highly recommended.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
