Cheap cheap cheap. In a good way.
So I have heard folks raving about this place ever since I moved to the QC. When I realized that there was one in Davenport I put it on the 'must visit' list. When they were featured on QC Online deal of the day I bought four gift certificates and I've been a happy camper ever since.
The service is fast - really too fast. I wish they would slow it down. They would increase their revenue (drinks, apps) if they slowed things down. For instance during my last visit it was 4 minutes between the time I ordered and the time I received my food. That is too quick. Not to mention I was busy finishing my chips while my tostados got soggy.
But what keeps me coming back is the price. You can get a meal that makes you feel so full you will explode for 5 bucks. Yeah, I didn't stutter, five bucks.
The guacamole is excellent as are the chips. The carne asada tastados are delicious. I wasn't as much a fan of the gordita - it was dry, but the spicy pico fixed that.
If i had to knock this place I'd say the service is too fast - weird critique right? But more importantly, the service is spotty. They are really attentive until you get your food - then boom. Good luck getting a 'to go' container or a refill. Granted when you finally ask for them they are polite and oblige, but there is no checking on the customers after the food is dropped on the table. -

I was just passing through and stopped by. It was by far the most enjoyable and the tacos are the best I had in a while. The beef tongue and pork was soft tender and delicious.

We found this place after stopping at a nearby store. I'd never heard of it, so I decided to give it a chance. I'm really glad I did!
I agree with my girlfriend on the premise that the overall food quality at a Mexican restaurant can be surmised based on its house salsa. The salsa at this restaurant was great. It had just the right combination of heat and spices. It was very fresh.
There are several vegetarian options available on La Rancherita's menu. I ordered the vegetarian burrito, filled with beans, rice, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream, and fresh avocado. My girlfriend ordered the asada tacos and reported that it was *real* asada.
The food was great, and the price was even better. For our lunches, including two soft drinks, the total was about $11. The portions were just right and the service was good. -

This place is the Davenport addition of the Moline La Rancherita, and it does not disappoint. Rancherita (both locations) serve up some of the best authentic mexican food in the state of Iowa. I particullary love gorditas, the masa is just right and you can't ever go wrong with the frijoles y queso (beans and cheese). The lengua and the al pastor is always delicious and I can't ever get enough of their fresh pico de gallo, its hot but in a really satisfying way. You get two sauces, green and red, red is good on the gorditas and al pastor, green is good on the lengua. The set up/decor in this Racherita is nice and really cute, they have lots of TVs and the staff is really friendly. The cool thing about Rancherita is they cater to both ends of the spectrum when it comes to mexican food, authentic, and "white people" mexican food. So if your with people who aren't so daring about delicious authentic mexican thats fine, you can both get your fill. Go to Rancherita NOW!
