Wow, I am truly dumbfounded by the previous reviews. This was our BEST meal here in Quebec City. Beautiful decor, ALL beers served in bottles and on tap were Unibroue and the food was INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!! Don't miss this spot. We ordered the Ementhal and tomato sauce and one with Blue Cheese. Well worth the price!!!!!!

Wow, I really don't go out of my way to pillory a place but here is my take on this sub-par restaurant. Do not let the smell entice you to pay a lot for the food here. I ordered a pizza (makes sense right?) with emmental cheese, bacon, and onions.
Well, my disappointment was increased given the fact that a party of 2 paid damn near 40 bucks for a good crust and that was it. The fact that I had to SALT my pizza and then add olive oil to give it flavor, especially when it purported to have bacon on it, says everything you need to know about the food here. Calling it mediocre is insulting the word.
Part of me starts to feel bad but then I remember I was out almost 40 bucks for lame pizza. I grew up stateside and I've had Southern California and New York pizza. That is pizza. The worse pizza I've had there was better than this. Now I'm just mad again. If I could serve Satan a meal it would be this. Just kidding, well not really. Crap I should have gone anywhere else. Maybe standing outside in the sun will cause me to photosynthesize and it will taste better than this.
They get 4 out of 5 FAIL stars. -

The smell, location and ambiance enticed us to stop there during a cold winter day. We were hoping for a quick lunch and from the board posted outside, presumed we would be in and out in 1/2 hr. As we walked up, the waited beckoned us inside (first sign we should have walked out). We sat and the waited brought us the menus. Since we didn't initially realize it was a pizza restaurant, and wanting to order something that would warm us, so we both ordered the French onion soup which was posted on the board. the cocky waiter seemed annoyed that we didn't want a pizza, and told us if we really wanted the soup, it would take 10 to 15 minutes. That sounded doable (plus we needed to thaw out) so agreed to wait.
We ordered our drinks and mine came out 5 minutes later. My husband's beer however took at least 15 minutes (by which time we were expecting our food)! 40 minutes after we were seated, the waiter finally came by to apologize for the soup taking so long and said that it would take another 15 minutes max since the kitchen had been busy with other orders. Never mind that tables seated after us had already eaten two courses! No, we were not willing to gamble that in 15 minutes we would probably have our soup! We opted to leave and stumbled upon Le Petit Cochon Dingue for a quick and very tasty lunch.
