In general, I'm not really interested in shopping for souvenirs when I'm traveling, but it is neighborly to bring back some regional and/or exotic treats for the co-workers, so this sugar shack is the place we went to to stock up on all our our maple goodies. Maple candies, maple cookies, maple butter, maple caramels, maple fudge, maple jelly, maple sugar, maple syrup, they have it all. In addition, I believe they also serve some ice cream and other fresh products at the counter. The store is at the very end of Rue Petit-Champlain in the lower city. The prices are very reasonable, and the products are of much better quality and value than what you might find at most tourist shops or at the airport. I was really glad we made our purchases here, because later in our trip I saw places charging twice as much for products of lesser quality. Upon my return home, the goodies were devoured instantaneously by my co-workers, and I was instructed to return to Québec immediately and bring back more maple caramels.
