Lunch at La Montée,
Friday March 5th 2010, 12:00
Kicked off with:
-Butternut squash velouté, Chorizo - Not too creamy, not too light but at ideal consistency. The work of tastes here was true genius: not only the taste of the velouté on it's own was exceptionally moving/daring/unique, but the tastebud wonder concerto was not going to end there: couple of tiny slices of deep flawlessly cooked flavored chorizo added a supreme smartly well thought smoky-ness. The slightly-cooked tasty pumkin seeds found in that velouté added an extra dimension of welcoming nutty flavors to this exceptional velouté. Excellent.
-Roasted Salmon, Rapini, Padano chip - Generous flavorful chunk of tender and remarquably delicious piece of fresh salmon: seared on it's top, it was lightly cooked within paving the way to a well balanced ideal consistency in between not too firm and not mushy. Great precision in the cooking and remarquable work of the taste (The seafood keeping it's fully enjoyable natural deep flavor). The fresh rapinis were ideally sauteed Kudos for topping the overall with that elegant Padano cheese chip: it added a extra kick to an already excellent dish.
Milky/Chocolate rice pudding/Pear Sorbet - Topped by layers of pears and Choco chips, the pudding was comforting (rice cooked at ideal crunchy-ness) + the quality of the chocolate is nice. Good.
The La Montée that I found on my way on this Lunch was exceptionally perfect: Elegant/efficient and classy waitstaff, very courteous/attentive/accomodating service, daring/moving/outstanding food.

I really can't believe that I'm the first person to review this place- the food is incredible. Expensive (thank you family for taking me here!), but incredible. If you want a taste/texture experience that you won't forget, this is the perfect restaurant. I especially recommend the goat cheese dish and the giant piece of bacon. The staff is incredibly nice and friendly and was so kind and helpful with menu translations (it turns out I didn't learn gourmet food vocab in french class).
