Review from Lisa H.
I've always had a decent experience here. It's pretty cheap eats for Whistler and the breakfast is fast and yummy. I usually get the eggs Benedict. It can be super crowded when the village is busy. It's another place I always eat at when I'm in town. I'd give it 5 stars but the service is hit or miss.

Food was bland and dried out. Both the burger and Salmon Benedict seem to have had all the flavor removed. The soda is even bad, they use generic brand cola tasting like Tab gone bad. Disappointing and I would avoid this place at all costs.

Had come here a couple of years ago and it was a pretty solid breakfast location so on Saturday morning we decided to give it another go.
Unfortunately it was a miss all around. It was extremely busy that morning and with almost nowhere to sit, we were stuck bumping elbows with other patrons.
The service was a bit lagging. Our waitress seemed as if she did not want to be there at all -- no smile, no hello, nothing. We quickly ordered: 1 OJ, 1 Half Order of Eggs Benny, and 1 Eggs Free Style.
The OJ: $4.50. I realize this seems to be the price for "good" OJ these days, but REALLY?
The waitress ended up giving me a full order of eggs benny and when I asked her if this was the half order, she said "oh no, I forgot" and said she would discount it at half price. There was a very bad taste in the eggs benny, like something was off.
The Freestyle breakfast looked and tasted like your average breakfast. The packet of raspberry jam would not spread smoothly on the toast and was chunky (in a bad way).
All in all, with the tons of great breakfast options in Whistler -- I will not be coming here again. -

Are ALL the servers high in Whistler? Or do they all carry this I don't care attitude? Well, I care. I want service and I don't want your half rattled brain to be asking me 20 mins later if I'm ready to order.. What do ya think?!
The french onion soup was good and so was the double hot toddy the bartender made me. However, the service was horrible. I'm just appalled by some of the service and how they get away with it in Whistler. -

Best part was location - nice outdoor patio, for that 2 stars. Service was friendly but slow.
The food... I wasn't expecting awesome but was surprised but how bad it was. Their croque-monsieur was really disappointing, it had cheese, ham and bread, so techincallly it qualified, not sure what the cheese was but it was very bland. My son's burger was equally poor, it seemed more like an industrial patty than fresh beef. -

My partner and I visited here the other night for a hot chocolate. We were then served powdered chocolate, which they hadn't bothered to stir in and was sitting at the bottom. By mistake we walked in there this morning to get some breakfast, as we were in a hurry we decided to stay. We told the waitress as we came in that we had a ski lesson booked and we needed to be in and out. A table behind us who came in 10mins after us received their meals before us which was annoying enough but when I received my meal (eggs benny) it was stone cold and had a hair in it. This place is so bad I would NEVER go back!! I am sure the positive reviews were written by the owner/staff.

We ate here expecting some descent food and all 4 of us left very disappointed.
My sister ordered her steak med rare and the one half was medium and the other was rare....not to mention that most of the steak was fat. She reluctantly complained to the server, who was awesome about it and brought her a salad on the house (she wasn't in the mood for more steak)
The fries were clearly frozen out of a bag and nothing to fight over.
My friend had the burger which he said was okay. I had the lamb shank risotto which was ready in 2 min and therefore microwaved.
This place was overpriced and the quality of food was comparable to Swiss Chalet.
Oh ya...there is nothing French about this restaurant either. -

The tomato soup is good. The burger didn't give me food poisoning. The service was not quite as bad as some other reviewers have indicated.
Still... it just wasn't really worth it. I am not so much virulently opposed to this restaurant as I am apathetic.
My policy, not unlike that of the British Empire, will be one of benign neglect. Not so much actively avoiding as never seeking to engage... kind of how I feel about most of my ex boyfriends. -

Always seems busy but apparently that doesn't mean it's good. Blueberry pancakes are doable for breakfast, but had higher hopes. Equally so for the place next door under the same management.

This is the place to enjoy a pretty filling meal at a not too crazy price in Whistler. They serve some of the basic comfort foods, like burgers and fries. Coming in spring time, the restaurant wasn't busy so the service was good. The atmosphere is relaxed, a great place to just satisfy the hunger.

La Brasserie serves comfort food
Great food and unlike what the other yelpers have stated, we had great service as well. I guess it all depends on what time you go and what you order.
I had the Kyber Burger with the Brasserie Greens Salad (regular green salad with a red vinegarette sauce). The Kyber Burger is your typical burger with lettuce, tomato and cheese but also sauteed mushrooms and bacon. My burger was your typical burger and it was pretty decent.
I had the honor to sample their Tomato soup with Grilled Cheese sandwich. I think this was probably the better thing to order on the menu than my typical burger. I was acting out of hunger.
We were blessed to have split checks with our group of 8 from our lovely waiter (plus in my book!) They also accept US Dollars if you are traveling and haven't found the time to exchange your cash.
Overall, great place to go. If I were back, I'd get the Tomato soup and Grilled Cheese. -

+4 for food, -1 for service = 3 stars overall.
I've never seen such unengaged staff before - they are honestly a waste of space. I would have preferred to have ordered from a take out window and sat myself.
That being said - they food was awesome. -

+ 4 stars for food
- 1 star for service
= 3 stars
We came here after a day of skiing because it was the only place that could seat our group of 6. We ordered some drinks and a few appetizers. I really enjoyed the poutine - they used real cheese curds instead of cheese whiz like they do at some places. My friends liked the calamari, but I've never been a huge calamari fan even though it's deep fried. It came "Mediterannean style", which means that they chop up some onions and put some capers in it. The french onion soup was also tasty, very savory and piping hot. And, judging from the speed at which it disappeared, the bacon cheeseburger was really good as well.
Service was amazingly slow though. I understand that it's a busy time right after the slopes close, but seriously, we waited 30 minutes for them to take our orders, and another 30 minutes for food. This was repeated multiple times. We ended up staying over 3 hours. -

We crawled into La Brasserie on Sunday morning in search of greasy options to line our stomachs at the end of a long and boozy weekend. The options for breakfast were limited: 2 eggs with toast, bacon/sausage and hash; Eggs Benny; Pancakes; Salmon Eggs Benny.
We both went for the 2 egg option and were well rewarded. Decent size, affordable, greasy yet tasty. Washed down with copious amounts of coffee we stumbled out into the slush satiated and (almost) ready to face the drive back to the city.
As others have mentioned the service could use some improvement but I'll give our server props for recognizing that I was not a customer in any shape to mess with, and that if I wanted to take 45min to eat that last sausage link...well damn! I will. don't take my plate. -

I agree with the other Yelpers, the food was good but the service could use some improvement...our waitress wasn't attentive at all and took forever to deliver our check at the end of the meal, but she took our order correctly and the food arrived in a timely manner.
I came here with my boyfriend for a quick bite to eat before heading up to the mountain (to hike, not ski). We weren't completely famished but a salad and sandwich was a nice light but filling lunch. I had the BLT and my bf had a burger...both sandwiches were delicious and the salads were served with a yummy raspberry vinaigrette...the meal really hit the spot!
It's a nice little eatery with pretty decent food at a good value...but be wary of the service. -

We came here for brunch because the place was pretty full which we assumed meant that it was good...well it was NOT. The eggs in the eggs benny were WAY over-cooked and there was barely any hollandaise sauce. It barely covered the egg, let alone the english muffin. The potatoes that came with the eggs looked and tasted like they were made the night before and just re-heated. On top of that, I found a toothpick wrapper in my tea cup and my sister found a hair in her eggs. The waitress was quite possibly the rudest waitress I have ever encountered. Maybe she was having an off day, but don't take it out on customers! Anyway, I would never go back. Thankfully our dinner at Ric's Grill the same night made up for a horrible brunch.

We were here for lunch. It was O.k., but most of the things on the menu weren't really French. It is a great place to people watch and the prices (at least for lunch) were in the $10-$14 range -- which is lower than average for Whistler.

I came here for breakfast with a friend. She had the breakfast special which consisted of eggs, meat, home fries, toast and coffee. I had home fries and pancakes. It was mid-week and it wasn't very busy but we found the service a bit slow and lacking. The waiter forgot to being coffee until we asked for it - not a big deal except for the fact that we were hungry and thirsty. When the food came, it was good. The breakfast special was good value at about $7, however, two pancakes and home fries for $12 is a bit excessive - but it is right in the tourist area so I can't really complain. I want to give it 2.5 stars; but I'll be generous and throw in an extra half.

well, i just like the place. some yelpers're complaining about food and service. i think food is decent(it's not a 5 star restaurant). i had mussels and fries for dinner the other day, and it was pretty good(little too salty), and for breakfast salmon benny and hash, tasted very good. service is loose and friendly, as well as the atmosphere. very french look'n'feel, which i think is cool. great music! my favorite place in the village. giving it 4 stars just because of $$$, but that, too, is normal for whistler.
