How can you complain about a sunny patio in the Whistler Village? We strolled in for a hungover breaky yesterday on the patio. I had the Benny Trio, it was pretty good, but could be a lot better.

Food is OK, Venue is pretty awesome, good enough spot for breaky, lunch or just a whole bunch of pitchers.

Worst restaurant ever!!!!! The hot chocolate is made from powder!!!!! (that is only thing we get to experience and it was more than enough!)

Also, We waited outside for our breakfast for 40 mins after we ordered!!!! The waitress never came to check on us!!!!! When we told her about our complaints, not only she didnt apologize, but said "you are welcome to leave!". We were furious and left this place FOREVER!!!!

It was our last day here and we wanted to eat before the drive home. We were recommended this place from a girl at Rogers chocolates.

At first glance, I didn't see much on the menu that appealed. However I thought the Budda Burger sounded so yummy.
It was a black bean & nut burger. I ordered it with
Half green salad half fries ( extra crispy )
    It was amazing !!

My Gf also had a burger with yam fries. She had
Coffee, I had an apple cider. Total for both of us
Including tip and tax was $50.

Another thing to note - they serve breakfast
    Until 3 pm!

The waitress was very friendly and attentive,
    A++

Have you noticed that all of the reviewers don't actually live in whistler?  That's because no whistler-local in their right mind would willingly eat at la bocca or any of the neighboring establishments that share the same dreadful kitchen.

This place is a tourist trap with its pretty flower box-lined patio, red umbrellas, and endless sun in the afternoon.  The constant influx of hungry tourists seeking patio sun is what keeps this place busy, and reliant on just that.  The food is disgusting and overpriced.  STAY AWAY!

This place has a huge patio that's perfect for watching the lively crowds in Whistler village. The service wasn't exactly lightning speed, but not bad considering how busy the restaurant was. I was actually reasonably impressed with my meal, for two reasons. First, my frittata with goat cheese, spinach and sundried tomato was really tasty and perfectly cooked. It came with a generous amount of fillings. Second, when I asked, our server brought me a nice green salad on the side instead of hashbrowns and toast without a fuss and without charging me extra.

Overall, the food and drinks were probably average or slightly above, but decent service and a great patio made this a good experience.

Lured by all the people sitting on the patio right smack in the middle of whistler village on a gorgeous day. Went inside- wow nice funky cozy charming decor....

Then we waited and waited and waited to order (but at least we were seated). Ordered a BLT and cheeseburger and iced tea..

So the iced teas were like drinking syrup (gross) and it took so long to get water that I was sugar buzzing for a while...burger and blt were mediocre when they finally arrived. Burger had no juice too it at all and the cheese was caked on to the meat..no cheesy creamy goodness here.

And the kicker was the 55 bucks we had to pay :(

Stylish seductive vintage ambiance!  Good wine choices to pair with some Italiano food.  3 stars since food wasn't their strong point.  But I would recommend this place for late drinks.

La Bocca was really hit and miss, but overall I think it was pretty good.  A bit pricey for some stuff that was obviously not fresh, but still pretty good.

BF and I got the crab cakes and the crumbed brie to start.  Waitress recommended we get two starters and we definitely didn't need them.  The crab cakes were excellent - delicious sauces, could have done with two more.  Brie on the other hand was pretty tasteless, and for $14 I was pretty disappointed.

BF got the seafood risotto which he said was really tasty.  I got the roasted chicken.  Thought it was a bit bland to begin with (and gnocchi was obviously cooked from frozen as it was a bit powdery) but when I hit the sage stuffing it was delicious.  Port reduction had me sneakily wiping it off the plate with my fingers.

Dessert (banana filo) was also pretty good.

So this place is good, but pretty pricey for the caliber of the ingredients.

Great for patio dining and service was alright.  I will dive right into the food because we didn't really pay attention to anything else except that....and well each others company :)

My love ordered the fritatta which I thought was pretty delicious!  Generous serving with lots of cheese, spinach, sundried tomatoe and hashbrowns.  So yummy I wished I had ordered it.

I, myself ordered the Tuscan chicken penne which I thought was really good!  The sauce was the perfect garlic +sundried tomato sauce.  Huge portions in my opinion and lots of chicken.  Really impressed!!

Awful service.  It was slow and server rarely came around.  Drink cups were sticky and gross.

The ultimate fail, though, was that the margherita pizza was garnished with dry (instead of fresh) basil.  Dry basil, really?  On a $14 mini pizza?  Stay far away.

This particular restaurant, actually serves breakfast until 3pm!  For people who like to start their day at noon, it had some great potatoes & their eggs were good too (not too hard, and not runny).  They had fantastic seats right outside in the sunshine, and if you were unlucky enough to have snagged a spot in the shade, they had heaters to make sure you weren't frozen.  It's also located right along the boardwalk, making it a people-watcher's paradise.

The waiters were pleasant, and the one serving us came to our table just the right amount of times.

I only made it there for breakfast, so I don't know how their other meals were, but if they were as good as the most important meal of a person's day, I would and will be going back.

Firstly, I should mention  that whoever does marketing for this restaurant is smart.  Go to the homepage of La Bocca's restaurant and you will find catchy words: "charming, casual", it's "the best location in town," has a "charming dining room" and "sought-after heat lamps."

It's quite true that La Bocca is located in the best part of town: smack-dab in the middle of Whistler Village, where you can people watch morning, day, and night. But, dear reader, despite a charming atmosphere, did you see anything that mentions the food?

Ahah! La Bocca, like the huge, gaping mouth that it is, lures you into its spacious patio with charming waiters (perhaps the only good quality), then SNAP! Traps you into an over-priced, mediocre dining experience at the order of a drink.

I've been there and back. I've been a fool to not notice that while the menu aims for a fusion of Asian and European cuisine which is bad enough (think seafood pasta + curry), most of it is comprised of sad attempts of either traditional European or Asian dishes.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to offend. But after my experience at La Bocca, I felt chewed up and spit back out, a confused member of society unsure of what "food with a modern twist" is supposed to be--and if I should continue my days ordering from a kids' menu which seemed safer and much better prepared than my lukewarm mashed potatoes and an over-spiced steak, or a companion's "fondue" aka cheese from the packet with leftover chopped veggies to dip.

I didn't even wonder about having dessert. And the price you pay for an unsatisfied tummy? You don't want to know.

Your tactics are good La Bocca, but this little fishie has escaped and learned her lesson--only to share the tale.

Came here on a rainy Tuesday night.  The place was maybe 1/4 full, and it still took almost 15 minutes for the waitress to come, give us water, and offer drinks.  That pretty much sums up the service we received - water glasses always sitting unfilled, bill sitting around waiting for change for 10 minutes, waiting for our dessert order to be taken, etc.

I had the Sablefish, which tasted very fishy and not so fresh.  Potatoes were so-so.  I did not finish either.  That's pretty unusual for me.  My gentleman caller had duck, of which he proclaimed "s'alright".  I did steal most of the little rosemary gnocchi that came with the duck.  Those were bomb.  Also bomb was the dessert - banana filo.  Mmm.

All in all, I was sad that the restaurant at which I spent the most money during my Whistler trip was my least favorite meal.  :(

I was at this place with 5 other friends simply because we wanted breakfast and they have it until 3pm.  We all sat down and waited at least 15 minutes before anyone came to see us which is horrible as the place was far from busy.  I even made eye contact with the manager twice before a server came over.  We ordered drinks and food at the same time along with waters.  Everything came out randomly, a couple of waters a couple of coffees etc. it was bizarre.

We noticed that on menu it stated that for parties of 6 or more a 15% gratuity would be added to the bill.  I am completely okay with having a gratuity added I just don't like getting horrible service as a result.  The food came out and it was pretty good, you can't really mess up breakfast all that much.  We had to ask for more water, more coffee, cream, sugar, cutlery, ketchup - nothing just appear as it does in most restaurants.

The waitress actually took my friends food before she was even finished with it!

The came the time to pay the bill.  We asked for her to separate it but this seemed to be a huge issue.  Kind of strange since there were 4 eggs benny's and two freestyle breakfasts, coffee and orange juice.

I probably wouldn't have even written this review if we were not required to leave this useless server a 15% tip!  Terrible Terrible Terrible.  I will never go back and I strongly recommend you don't either. Unless of course you like mediocre service.

Head to Earls, or anywhere else for that matter!

Not bad, we had the cheese fondue as an app, which was unlike other cheese fondue we had ever had. It was made with an apple broth, which made it sweeter than we were each for. Also, had the meat fondue as the main course, with shrimp, scallops and switched chicken for beef. It was cooked in a chicken broth, which was much better than oil. It included dipping sauces, which were fine...the creamy wasabi made the meal!
Probably a 3.5, but I was feeling generous because the decor was unique.

Service was friendly but slow and painful.    Its like our waiter would dissappear for long periods of time....and this was a Tuesday night.

The food was just so-so, nothing to write home about.   For the price, go for pizza instead!  It was dissappointing.

We ordered a bottle of wine, the waiter broke the cork off in the bottle.  He did offer to get a new one, but it was a 10 year old bottle so he should have known better.

I would agree with the other review that the gelato was pretty good, if you just go for that...then do it.   Otherwise, skip this place.

After a few hours of zip trekking, my boyfriend and I were munching for a burger and fries. We were told Spitz was the place to go, but didn't want to venture that far from where our car was.

La Bocca was extremely busy on the long weekend and the patio looked full on the sunny day. But we got a table pretty easily and I was able to order yam fries along with my Buddha Burger (veggie burger with brown rice, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickle & caramelized onions for $14). The caramelized onions were different; it was one of the better veggie burgers I've had, and the fries with chipotle sauce definitely hit the spot.

Our server was fast and the food came out in less than 10 so we were surprised at how good the service was on a busy day. My boyfriend said the walls inside looked like some kind of elementary school collage, but to me, as long as food and service is good, decor doesn't mean much. I usually wouldn't pay that much for a burger, but when you're hungry, you'll pay for anything!

Nothing outstanding about this place, but no complaints from this Vancouver couple!

IF I WERE YOU, I GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. YUK YUK YUK

    THE END :)

ps. the bill was 70 $ ( pretty average for whistler but considering that the food was shit....omg not sure)

Came here for a bachelorette party dinner. The service was friendly and attentive, but the  food was kind of blah. The menu has something for everyone, but nothing stood out as being great.

I had the veggie wok, which was passable, but not fantastic. My friend's mashed potatoes were "grainy" -- how hard is it to mess up mashed potatoes? The calamari appetizer was a big hit, on the other hand.

Again, the service was awesome, but if I could have brought in some Taco Bell with me I would have been happier.

Happy Easter in Whistler. What a beautiful day.. sitting on the patio on their seat covered comfy chairs, umbrella down and feeling like I was getting a major suntan with the bright rays in my face. Sharing a little table with my closest friends, it was a beautiful sight people watching in the gorgeous Whistler village.

I ordered the frittata which came with sundried tomatoes, spinach and feta...along with toast and home fries for $12. I thought frittatas were more like a quiche, because this definitely looked like an omelette.... full of toppings, and great flavour but just peculier. The fries had some good spices to them and the one slice of bread was plentiful (you had the option of english muffin if you liked).

The over priced little bowl of of pasta at $17 was okay... same with the traditional 2 eggs, sausage and toast. The curries chicken sandwich looked appetizing and the salad with a never seen before dressing looked appealing and hearty.

I was told that the shot of espresso was not hot enough - who wants cold espresso? and although service started off well.. it kind of disappeared as more people joined in the restaurant.

I was in no rush and had great company, but felt like we received temporary service.
