Bon Appetite'
When they have it, try the cold cucumber avocado soup for starters, it's amazing. There's a delicious salmon froid that's definitely worth trying as well. Next, there are a variety of entree and dessert crepes on the menu, they're outstanding... Try one, or try them all (like we have).
They have an excellent wine list to choose from, by the glass or by the bottle, to complement whatever it is you're having..
Lastly, it's not over until you wind the evening down with absinthe served in the traditional fashion, that is, with an absinthe spoon, sugar cubes, and a absinthe cold water dripper device to infuse the sugar into the absinthe... Good times !
Invariably, they'll have live music playing. On the several occasions we've been, the musicians, and singers, we're talented and very entertaining.
Parking is easy, the bartenders, servers, the hosts, and hostesses have all been efficient, attentive, and friendly.
Great place! -

We brought my mother-n-law and my wife's family there for mother's day brunch on mother's day. Throughout the brunch, the service was slow. A waitress did not come to our table until a good 10 minutes after the host (part-owner) sat us at our table. We then spent a good hour and a half having mother's day brunch (with about 20 minutes in between ordering, appetizers, main dish ). Although we had good conversation, I would not expect that long of an interval between each for a brunch.
The service took awhile to get us our check and our receipt back to us (about 20 minutes combined for both the check and the receipt). After signing the credit card slip, my wife and my mother in law then used the bathroom. The host (co-owner) then came to us and asked us if we were going to be any longer because they really needed that table. At that moment I looked around and noticed that there were a number of tables available at that time and when we eventually left when my wife and mother in law returned front the bathroom that there was not a crowd at the front waiting for a table.
My father in law was furious and I was as well. I brought the issue up to the host (co-owner) and he stated that he tried to be as polite as possible and that he would "buy me a drink" the next time I come in. I don't really want a drink, but I would like to know why you, as a co-owner, would try and push us out when there were tables available at the time? We were at that table for that length because of the service, not because we were chit chatting away after brunch. I will not return for the host (co-owner) to buy us a drink but would rather venture elsewhere. We will not return. -

Hmm...posting this update is heartbreaking! I would have gone with 4 stars but there was a few issues with our service and the atmosphere so I had to knock it down a star. I'm hoping it was just an off night though and the food was great so I'll stick with 3 stars for now. AND the crepes have mostly disappeared! What?!?
This was my favorite place to go out for a special meal in the area. I've had a really rough couple of weeks both personally and professionally so I decided last night hubby & I needed to go out for a nice meal, have some wine and unwind.
When we first arrived we stood at the hostess area for a bit. There was some activity in both the bar area and dining room but no one at the entrance...eventually a server came up and without even greeting us grabbed two menus and told us to follow her. Uh, hello? How about an actual "hello"?! My husband interjected we actually had a reservation (hey, I want my Open Table points!) and we followed her. Upon seating we discovered there was a large party in their private section so I'm sure that's what caused the delay when we arrived.
We peruse the menu and, wait a minute...something is different. Very different. Where are the crepes?? I had been really craving either their Seafood crepe or their La Cajun crepe and those, along with all our other favorites were no where to be seen! I guess the crepes are just around for the desserts and Sunday brunch. Disappointing. So if you plan on coming here expecting the excellent crepe menu with nice smaller portions and reasonable prices, forget it. Don't get me wrong, their new menu is AMAZING with so menu delicious sounding choices we had difficulty deciding. But we were sad to see the menu we fell in love with gone...
The entrees do not list what they come with so either you can be surprised or ask. I ordered the Hangar Steak (I won't even try to type up the French name) and asked if it came with a vegetable. No, it comes with Fries (fine, call them whatever fancy French name you want put they are still fries...) but I could substitute a vegetable or a small salad. I always want veggies so I went with those and added a side of mashed potatoes. My husband ordered one of the specials (those list what they come with) - the Chef's Platter of Venison Sausage, Buffalo Sausage, and Roasted Rabbit with Mushroom Risotto and veggies. My husband's meal was phenomenal! My food was also delicious but I had a hang up with the presentation. I don't completely understand places that make you order all your sides a'la carte but fine, whatever. I'll get over it. What I don't understand is when they have to bring each item out on a separate plate. C'mon, really? So I had an oblong dish for my steak, another shell-shaped bowl for my veggies and yet another bowl for the mashed potatoes. Each item was presented beautifully but I would have been much happier to have the same size plate my husband's meal came on and just present all my items nicely on it. The veggies, btw, were some of the BEST I'd ever had. Lovely green beans, squash and carrots cooked perfectly and seasoned with a hint of butter and I believe tarragon. The serving size of the veggies was incredibly tiny, though. I'd say it was really half a serving of vegetables. But if there are veggies in heaven I bet this is what they serve it was so good!
Of course we couldn't eat all that food so we asked our server to package them up for us. Now I finished my tiny serving of vegetables and ate half the steak but I barely put a dent in my mashed potatoes. She packaged up my steak and my husband's leftovers but stacked a bunch of dishes on top of my bowl of mashed potatoes. "Um, excuse me? I kind of wanted to take those too..." It was easily a cup and a half of mashed potatoes to which I ate maybe a quarter of a cup so I hope she just wasn't paying attention and didn't notice. She felt terrible for the mistake and had the kitchen box me up a new serving. Yes, thank you.
The other thing which was odd, and I have never noticed it before, was the music. In the dining area was their usual light background music but in the bar area there was quite a different, more upbeat, sound coming from over there. You could easily hear the opposing sounds at the far end of the dining room and it was a mood killer for sure.
So...we'll have to go back to see what's up...if it will remain one of our faves or if we'll have to take a pass. I certainly hope this was just an off night! And bring back some of the crepes!!2 Previous Reviews: Show all »

Very cute French bistro! I had half a beef bourguignon crepe, half a breakfast La Complete crepe, courtesy of my fellow diner and I splitting for brunch. Crepes were of ample enough size (bigger than expected actually) and side salad was good, if not awkward in the bowl provided. The pan au chocolat offered tableside was flaky and delicious. All the food was great that I had as was service. I'll be back to try their dinner menu. Oh, and the St. Georges domestic absinthe and pouring of it at the table (with absinthe spoon, sugar cube, etc) was a fun experience, though a lil boring in flavour, IMO, but that's also a more non traditional blend of absinthe as I'm learning via research. No hallucinations to speak of, sadly, even at the noon hour- shocking! Haha
So why only 3 stars? It is kinda overpriced, people, like maybe by $3 per entree at least. And when they came around offering to choose off a tray of either pan au chocolats or a croissant, we all four at my table naturally chose to partake. How lovely! What was not lovely was that they charged us $10 on our bill ($2.50 each x 4 ppl) without our knowledge! Non trez bien, Monsieur! It wasn't a bad price for the delicious items, it just felt sneaky! Turned us all off and we all agreed we should say something-- and we all wussed out. Even when the manager came over to ask if everything was ok. Haha!
Anyway, if dinner is good, and they are more upfront with their charges, I'd gladly upgrade to 4 stars, but not yet and I wouldn't drive out of my way to go here, but would go if I was in the area, for sure. -

We went for lunch. I had the hanger steak sandwich with carmelized onions and portabello mushrooms. The meat was very tender and the combination of brie and ciabalta breat made the sandwich melt in your mouth. The petite fries were just okay. The wine that was recommended was a good french red that was a blend of cab and syrah. They had a big selction of crepes and we will go back to try dinner next time instead. Did not try the absinthe bar but it was tempting.
Definitely worth the trip and the lunch menu is very reasonably priced. -

Came in to celebrate my husband passing his CPA exam with a family brunch. Reservations through http://Opentable.com....plus 100 points!
We were immediately greeted by a friendly white-bearded gentleman, "Bonjour!" I loved their comfy booths and roomy open seating area.
They serve one mean bloody mary. Perfect mix of salty peppered rim. Two large meaty olives. Celery. I loved that they used pepper rather than hot sauce to turn up the heat. I could have made a meal of it!
Don't miss the bread basket guy that comes around with rolls and olive/sundried tomato tamponade.
Beef bourguignon crepe was a savory treat. Tender, well seasoned beef folded into a large eggy crepe. It came witha side salad, not too impressed by the mustard vinagrette.
My sister-in-law ordered the crab & shrimp cake benedict ($14.50). It was all crab & shrimp and less cake. So yum!
Their pommes frites are not to be missed.
Would definitely return for brunch again. Check out their websites for daily specials. Wednesday is ladies night which means $5 martinis, glass of wine, and mixed drinks at the bar. -

This is a great spot if you're stuck in the suburbs and want to go out where it actually feels "out." You wouldn't guess this atmosphere exists in the strip mall setting, but Leiffel is kind of like a hub of fun.
The crowd can get loud on the weekends. There's a bar section, where you can check out the live music. And then there's the quieter restaurant section.
The whole place has a warm vibe. The manager/owner is actually french, and he wears the best tailored suits and has the best accent. muy sexyyyyyyyy.
A lot of the patrons are French, too.
The savory crepes have a really great sauce that fills out the flavor. It's like a stewed beef sauce. The ham and cheese crepe actually steals the show. It's a very well crafted crepe.
Lastly, the bread comes with the most delicious olive tapenade. I would eat it right off the knife! -

Since Lent is a few days away, I decided to come here on a rare day off and indulge.
I ordered a bourguignone crepe (braised beef in red wine). I found some chunks to be very well done & not too succulent. bummer.
Next was a Quiche Lorraine. This dish was good. Nice consistent custard.
Finally, a banana fosters crepe for dessert.
I really wanted to be wowed by this place, but sadly I found it to be average. -

It already reaches beyond my expectation, for being a french bistro-typed restaurant, in the suburb (in the middle of almost nowhere if u r from the city). The environment is great, you hate this place on friday night if you do not like live music, it could be too loud to some people but i don't mind, i actually pretty enjoy them playing as long as i don't sit next to the band. The food is wonderful for the price. Wines are great too if you drink. Dessert- not bad and u should give it a try.
I have never expected anything from this place, seriously, it is located in a shopping mall in south barrington next to hoffman estates, who would think of getting an awesome french dinner in this area? But a few months ago i tried once, and then i kept going back i was there 3 or 4 times already.
LOVE IT AND Please keep this business open.
Will definitely come back again. -

We've been there a hand full times since it opened a few years ago. Always fine food and great service. In warm weather the outside seating just adds to the experience. Last week had a lovely dinner, we shared various courses and took our time everything was wonderful.
L'eiffel well worth the trip. -

Let me start by telling you that I don't write reviews. I had to write this one because of the awesome service I got from the ownership here. Very friendly, great food and interesting drinks. I travel a lot and try many different places - this is one I feel the compulsion to share. It is simply awesome!

Many readers ask me from time to time if I speak French due to an expression I sometimes use, namely, "....pardon my French." In fact, I do not speak any French at all, but I know it when I hear it and man does it sound sexy.
Thankfully, my other half does speak French, and she trained me to say menu items at the Eiffel like a pro in the interims while our server was away. It was an incredibly cultural experience for me, similar to when I use the bathroom at Macaroni Grill in an effort to learn Italian, only more so.
Well, the long and short of it is this: this was not just a perfect meal, it was unforgettable. We must have seemed like secret shoppers because we ordered wine, appetizers (frog legs), the most expensive special (rabbit), savory crepes, and dessert (mousse). Start to finish the food and service were impeccable and timely.
As I said, the whole experience was fantastic. The restaurant is more on the high end side, and it's a little pricey, but you do get what you pay for. If you're looking for a location that will make your night, definitely give this place a try. Personally, I can't wait to go back! -

Had my first 'French' lunch ever and I have to say that it was only ok tasting and definitely not worth the inflated prices.
Once you are seated and your drink order is in you are given a roll. Just a normal dinner roll nothing special (I think I could buy the same ones at Jewel) and are never offered another one the entire meal. You even have to ask for butter for the table since butter is not given.
Ok so it's time to order and unless you know a bit of French you can't pronounce most items on the menu... luckily I took 4 yrs of French in high school so I wasn't totally lost. I tried the La Bourguignone crepe since when in a Creperie you should probably order a crepe. It was not very flavorful or 'beefy' and was not a substantial portion for the price. I also tried a few of my friend's Pommes Frites (fries) and thought they were good and crispy but a little too greasy for my taste. I didn't have dessert which looked good but who knows.
Waitress was responsive and friendly but the food took too long to come out at lunch hour. I'm glad I tried this place but I honestly can't think of a reason that I would go back. -

I can't be more effusive about a restaurant than I am about L'eiffel Bistro! My wife and I first went to this restaurant for our anniversary, in June and have been back 3 times since then.
Let's start with service, which has been top notch on every visit. We have always been accommodated to the max, whether we wanted to sit on the terrace or in the dining room, at a table close to the live music. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. They have a good grasp on all of the dishes on the menu. They are always willing to make a suggestion or give a personal pick between dishes when asked. They never have made me feel rushed (our dinner with friends last night lasted two and a half hours) but neither have I ever felt neglected while there. The restaurant carries through on the European tradition that dining is an event to be savored and enjoyed.
Of the 20-30 dishes that I have sampled (my friends and family always share tastes), I have found each to be excellent in both taste and presentation. Last night I partook of the 3 course prixe fixe (sp?) menu. For my appetizer I chose the sweetbreads. Lightly breaded with portabello mushrooms and a dab of garlic mash, they were light, delicate and delicious. Now I probably would never have tried this dish because it is not something I am familiar with, but because I have never had a bad dish at L'eiffel I decided to go out on a limb and I am glad I did. My veal was tender and perfectly prepared with mushrooms, demi glace and a wild mushroom risotto. Dessert was a the Eiffel crepe, a decadent creation of crepes, berries and chocolate that was magnificent.
There is a large and diverse wine list, although not a huge number sold by the glass. Then there is the absinthe. There is a large selection of the storied liquor and it is served with the traditional Parisian panache. There is a great dining room and an equally lovely terrace for al fresco dining. On the weekends, it is one of the few places in the western suburbs that features live jazz. The mixture we have seen thus far has been eclectic and satisfying.
This is my new favorite place and given a choice of where to spend my limited discretionary entertainment dollars I can think of no better value. -

We didn't eat here, but stopped by for drinks after doing some shopping. What a gem of a place. The wife and I both had cappuccinos and we both agreed that they were excellent.
Not long after we arrived, a live jazz band set up and started playing. It was a beautiful evening and we could have sat outside for awhile listening and enjoying ourselves, but, alas, we had to get home.
I look forward to coming back to try some of their cuisine. -

How did I JUST find out about this place? This is a hidden gem of parisian delight nestled in the northwest suburbs of South Barrington that has been open since '09.
I sauntered in after perusing the Arboretum early Friday evening during rush hour. I wasn't exactly thrilled to sit in more traffic, I might add while raining, and thought perhaps an early dinner (nosh) might lift my soggy spirits. The bar and restaurant were beautifully decorated. Le Bar was designed and made by a French wood artist (Fabien Gilbert) in an art nouveau style. It truly transported me to France.
Well ladies and gents, I am in le love. The staff is super knowledgable and sweet. The decor is tres chic. The food is unbelievable! Not to mention, the expansive and reasonably priced absinthe, apertifs, wines and champagne. I was totally in luck because the Friday special was $7 glasses of Veuve. My day was totally turning around!
Mario, the bartender, definitely was no newbie behind the bar. He matter of factly told me recommendations for food, when the hot nights to come by for live music and fun and information on private parties (if i should ever want to have an AHEMbridalshowerAHEM here in the near future).
So let's talk food...they have a running list of specials of the day prepared from the chef in addition to the full menu of sweet and savory crepes, Chateaubriand Filet Mignon au Poivre, duck à L'Orange, salads and more. I was totally overwhelmed and impressed. I opted for the special tuna and shrimp in wasabi/aioli sauce appetizer and for dessert the warm berry compote and chocolate crepe. Everything was not only beautifully presented, but magnifique.
I hope to make it back soon for their Ladies night on Wednesday's featuring $5 Martinis/$5 Glass of Wine/$5 Mixed Drinks or for a brunch on the weekends.
I suggest you make a special visit for this culinary treasure. It is definitely worth the trip!Listed in: Oh How I Love Thee..., Love Is In the Air...

This one's realistically 4 1/2 stars - I'm just being a little stingy.
Went to the restaurant tonight on a blind date. Advised the hostess and waiter that I wanted a table where we could sit and talk during an extended dinner. The establishment accomodated us very well. And what I really appreciated was the timing with which the waiter checked in with us. Not too often and not too seldom either. Really a great job on that.
Both of us enjoyed our food as well. A nice evening out and I plan on returning. -

I went here on Sunday for lunch with my friend to thank him for helping me move! :) We weren't sure if we would need a reservation but were happy when we arrived and were seated right away. Another nice surprise was they have a live jazz band on Sundays for brunch hours. I'm not a jazz fan but am a big live music fan so it was nice!
We were sat at a table towards the main entry wish seemed a bit weird when there were so many open tables in the restaurant right near all the traffic but that's okay. Also, the chairs were not comfy at all~boo. We were offered some pastries for $2 each which we passed on but then given some free bread for the table. Yums. And my friend got sparkling lemonade which was super awesome!
We started off with a couple of appetizers, the escargot and the cheese plate. I have a small obsession with cheese plates and have to get one whenever it's offered. My dining partner had to get his slimey escargots so get them he did. Both were quite good and I really liked their cheese selection. I wish there was a bit more of the jam but I loved the abundance of grapes on the plate. For my dish, I had La Bistrot Lunch Crepe which was very good! It had ham, cheese and gratinee in it...nom.nom.and more nom. It was rich and creamy with the flavors being right on. The crepe was soft ad light with a little crisp in all the right spots.
I can't remember a single thing about our waitress other then that she was female which means she wasn't overly amazing or bad, she was just fine. So service was fine, food was quite excellent, atmosphere was nice, as well. Prices are expensive though so expect your pocketbook to take a little hit here. -

We finally had the opportunity to try dinner at L'eiffel.
Truly one of the best meals I have had anywhere in the northwest suburbs!
We started with some apps. A small flight of 3 French cheeses, another plate of 2 pates (one duck and one lamb) accompanied by several slices of different sausages. We wrapped up the apps with frogs legs that were perfectly sauted.
For the entrees we had the duck L'orange, pork tenderloin with mushrooms crepe with a peppercorn sauce and a chef special plate with roasted quail, duck breast and lamb with wild rice.
All of our entrees were prepared well, served hot, and delicious.
The flavors were well balanced, with sauces complementing the flavor or the meat and poultry, rather than overwhelming them.
For dessert we shared a decadent chocolate mousse.
While the atmosphere was casual (some guests in shorts and T-Shirts) this would be an excellent spot for an upscale romantic dinner for two.
I highly recommend L'eiffel.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Okay, I am not an expert in French foods. But as a business owner, I am aware of good customer service and a staff that really cares about their clients.
I met several friends and enjoyed a wonderful dinner with them. We were seated immediately in a comfortable room- not noisy. The menu did have English descriptions for the food. I was able to find all the information that I needed on the menu and the wait staff was helpful also. The wait staff was attentive to us but wasn't hovering over our every move. The food was very good and I experimented with a few items that were new to me which I thoroughly enjoyed. Good wine complemented our meal. We finished with a nice dessert medley.
One of the owners came to our table to say hello and I found out that he actually relocated here from France. I believe he runs the kitchen and it is nice to know that he really does know French cuisine personally. I thought the entire experience was good. I feel the prices were appropriate, the food and service excellent along with the cleanliness / atmosphere of the restaurant.
I will give it a positive recommendation to my friends and will definitely be returning again. -

I like the food, that's more than I can say for the staff.
We came in a little late and there was live music going on. Outdoor seating on a warm summer eve with live music, awesome. After we got seated our waitress seems a whole lot more interested in chatting up the people at the bar inside than serving us. Authentic french service too I guess?
I had the quail with chocolate sauce, stuff with duck. Amazing. I have to say I lover every bite. French good can be pretty fantastic and they good a pretty good job of it here. I also had the chocolate truffle for dessert. Warm chocolate sauce burst forth to delight my taste buds. Iced tea only comes in bottle. Beware if you're expecting the usual bottomless drinks.

Disappointing experience, mediocre food. Space was beautiful. Food was okay; , \I can't put my finger on one specific "horrible" thing. Staff was not warm or welcoming. No one said thank you, come back again. Had the simplest breakfast crepe. The diced potatoes were cold. The coffee was weak. They wanted to charge $1.50 for a small pot of strawberry jam. Didn't complain about croissants that are an additional $1.50. I wouldn't rush back.

Brunch in the 'burbs...seems like a straight-up fantastic way to get your breakfast fix while avoiding the heinous lines in the city, right!?
Well, yes...unless it's not post-church on a Sunday. Then you are screwed. Places become overrun with nice looking, church-going people...and our dreams of a quiet breakfast were squashed by the throngs at Egg Harbor in Barrington.
So I text my trusty dusty suburban temptress (Jelena Z, for those of you not in the know) and she exuberantly recommends a stop at L'eiffel Bistrot and Creperie in South Barrington for my group of 5 gals in need of some meals and mimosas. As the reviews were bangin' and this was "on the way" back to 90E, and my urban paradise of Chicago...all systems seemed to be go.
For the record: This restaurant, as charming and sweet and frenchie as it is, happens to be housed within one of those befuddling outdoors malls. Yes, the kind where all the stores face outward. Always confounded me why we'd have them in the Midwest when we've got 10 months of winter, but hey...I'll let it go. L'eiffel is in the corner near Victoria's Secret, Sur la Table, DSW, etc. Obviously this also means easy parking and easy to get drunk on mimosas and buy shoes and/or underwear or table service while waiting to sober up. The choice is yours.
We arrived, were seated promptly at a roomy table in the corner amongst many others languishing over pastries, coffees and late Sunday afternoon pleasantries. Outfitted with a wonderful cafe au lait, some mimosas and diet cokes (bottles, no refills) we sunk in to conversate and enjoy. Our server was sweet and informative, but did not hover....and, wasn't too bad on the eyes on either.
Crepes! French toasts! Eggs! Waffles! Lunch! Brunch!? So many options. Finally I settled on the Croque Madame, basically a warm soaked bread cheese with ham and an egg over the top served with a side salad. Marvelous, I finished every bite. Rivaled my favorite in the city (Birchwood Kitchen).
Is it super authentic French? No, but the food is good and everyone in your party will find something to enjoy. It's very large, has a large bar area (bonus, live music!) and would be great for private parties or large groups.
4 étoiles! 4 étoiles! Brunch in the further NW 'burbs. Done, and done. -

Came here with a friend for Christmas Eve Dinner. I've been meaning to come to this place for a while as I have heard good things about it from friends and co-workers, but was a little bit frightened off assuming it was a French restaurant and was going to cost an arm and a leg. But considering it was Christmas Eve and I had a Restaurant.Com coupon for $25, we thought what the heck and decided to give it a try.
The décor reminded me of a modernized French inspired version of Moulin Rouge, the movie and the actual place in Paris. Nothing too fancy, but you can tell some thought came about when decorating this place. The place, is of course, very clean, as French Restaurants should be, but without the snooty waitress. In fact, the wait staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I was pleasantly surprised to find out this place served breakfast, lunch and dinner.
As my friend and I came here for dinner, we ordered the dinner menu. For appetizers, we ordered my all time favorite food, Foie Gras (Duck Liver Pate). I can tell you it is absolutely one of the best Foie Gras I've ever had. I can still imagine the full rich flavors exploding in my mouth....for $22.00 I expected nothing less
For our entrees, I had the Beef Tendorloin and my friend had the Braised Beef Tongue with sides of mashed potato and fries. The meat was very tender and just the right amount of flavor, and cooked just the way I liked it, medium rare. There were plenty of luscious French desserts, but we were just two full to sneak in a desert, even if we split it. All in all, we were very happy we spent our Christmas Dinner here.... kinda felt like Christmas in Paris. -

Wow! I think I just walked into a cafe in Europe. Wood and mood lighting greets you at the door. Serving Absinthe alcohol out of a water fountain in the traditional manor. $7 glass of bubbly on Fridays.
Excellent seafood special. Homemade herb butter served with fresh bread. The combination of alligator, venison and lamb was delicious. Who knew? This game-meat-non-adventurer even liked it.
Went with friends and had a great time. They also teach salsa classes and sponsor some fun events. Worth a looksy, and truly original. -

I was looking forward to the escargot which I got. I looked at the menu and it was awesome. There was so much variety and choice. It was like all the French dishes were represented here. I loved it. I think even the most picky eater will find something they can enjoy. I ordered the seafood bouillabaisse and my mom got the beef creole crepe. Both sounded really interesting and good. I love trying new food.
I have to mention one thing here before continuing on with the entrees. This place does not give you a basket of rolls on your table. The staff has a big basket with rolls in it that they walk around and hand you ONE roll when you wave them down. This is very strange because I want as many rolls as I want, on my table, and don't want having to wave or request rolls a hundred times. In order to eat the hot buttery escargot, I used the rolls to soak up the butter and eat it like a mini escargot sandwich. It really interrupted the flow of my appetizer because I had to get over looking like a pig requesting ONE roll every 5 minutes. Anyway, it's a very minor minor thing. The escargot was still exellent.
The beef creole crepe was very good. My bouillabaise was really good too, though a bit too salty. I don't know if that's the way it's supposed to be so I'm not so sure about criticizing it. But one thing stood out about my bouillabaise. The table next to mine ordered bouillabaise also. She got 2 long crunchy garlic breads on it. I did not. I observed to really make sure our dishes were both the same and they were. So I feel a little cheated. Maybe they saw I ate so much rolls for my escargot that they decided to cut back the carbs on me. Well I do appreciate it because I am working out hard to lose a few percentage body fat!
The creme brulee was good for dessert.
Overall, I loved this restaurant and want to go back to try other things. -

Lamb shank, lamb shank, lamb shank. Eiffel Bistro has a broad range of bistro classics and some interesting daily specials but you need to try the lamb shank.
Start with escargots, or mussels in white wine sauce or step out of your comfort zone and try the steak taretare for apps. For dinner one of the people in our group loved the beef in red wine crepe, another liked the seafood crepe and another liked her rabbit but did I mention the lamb shank try it.
Sitting in the bar with the jazz quartet jamming into a Friday night is a great way to finish off a dinner at Eiffel Bistro.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I was really disappointed with my dining experience here.
Well, first I should say the place is beautiful. I loved the decor even the ceiling tiles were thought out, and I like the mini walls separating the various areas. I liked the white table clothes, but didn't think that the paper on top was necessary. I really liked the small bread plate I got that had their logo on it, very cute.
After that.... well... I would like to think of myself as a cultured person, but the menu made me feel like an idiot. I couldn't read it. I think that certain French words are more widely accepted in the culinary circles, which unfortunately I am not part of. Not being a super experienced cook I have to say I didn't find the menu to be be accessible upon first impact.
I went there to meet a friend for lunch, and am glad I didn't bring my kids. I just wanted a sandwich, something easy, but again.... couldn't figure out if there were any. Thankfully the woman I was with, oddly enough a chef, was able to give me the low down on the menu. Translate it for me. I ended up ordering a quiche which was good. The side dishes were also good. So no problem with the food.
I guess in the end the food was good. Wine was expensive. Service was good. Perhaps what the problem boils down to for me is I want to be able to understand the menu without doing mental gymnastics, or feeling like an idiot. -

Delicious food. Reasonable prices. Crepes are light and thin and not at all greasy.
Most other restaurants that offer crepes are a disappointment bc their "crepes" are thick and soaking in grease with artificial fillings. Not the case with L'eiffel. Everything is fresh and clean tasting. Very European. -

What a cute little place!! Took a friend here for her birthday dinner and it was just adorable. I ordered the L'Ocean and had no regrets, whatsoever! I love seafood.... so a little bit of scallop, shrimp, and salmon were delightful to have wrapped in a creamy crepe.
I think this place defines what it is for fine dining. It's small but impressive with its quiet elegance without being snobby. The service was great too! The chef had prepared a delish tomato type of spread for the bread basket... lovely surprise!
And dessert crepes were treats we all just gobbled up! From bananas to nutella to strawberries, apples, and caramel, this little creperie could definitely not go wrong.
Quite a bit far out, but it's definitely on my list! -

This place is adorable! It is not so 'burbs once you walk inside. the ambience is nice- it fits well with the type of place that it is.
I suggest the lamb shank- wow. It is so tender! The juices pair perfectly!
Note: It is okay to be late for reservations. They seldom seem to be packed. Truly a shame. -

This place surprised me.
I don't know why, but I wasn't expecting much, maybe because I've never eaten french food in the US.
I ordered La Crêpe Maison (Free range sautéed chicken breast in a velouté of tomato, fresh herbs, and wild mushroom.) It was delightful.
We sat in the outdoor cafe area and watched the sunset while enjoying fine french cuisine. I felt sophisticated. -

First, let's be clear that this is mostly a place for crepes, sandwiches and salads, so you're not going to find a ton of high-end French food.
Food-wise, I will grant that the croque madame I ordered was well made and tasted good. The fries were fine and the portion pretty filling. But the pumpkin creme brulee I got was gross (it was around Thanksgiving time?). Creme brulees are usually at least hot at the top, but this one was put in a mushy mini-pumpkin and clearly had been sitting in the refrigerator for days, going directly from the fridge to my plate.
And really what killed the whole experience was the waitstaff's total inability to pronounce the items on their menu. I understand that you can't hire people who are all fluent in French, but at least you should teach them how to say the dishes they're selling. The guy who was promoting their new Beaujolais launch party even butchered "Beaujolais." Really?! Fail. -

Love this place! It's great to meet for coffee and dessert or drinks after work. We also love the Sunday brunch menu. My favorite is the Caramelized Banana French Toast....yummy! and the Eggs Benedict Florentine. I've tasted most of the dinner crepes and they are all good but the serving is not enough if you are hungry. I ate a lot of bread to fill me up (which i should not have done to save room for dessert).
They also have the best chocolate croissant! Unfortunately they only serve it on Sundays. However, I called one weekday and craved for it (this was after seeing the movie It's complicated when Meryl Streep and Steve Martin made chocolate croissant from scratch) anyway...they were very accomodating and made some for me. They said as long as I call it in ahead of time and order at least 4 pcs or so then they would make it.
They have great service and the staff is very friendly (the owner/manager is gorgeous, I had to go back and have my single girlfriends check him out) -

We have been for dinner twice outside and really enjoyed the interesting menu and music on Thursday and Sat nights, haven't been to a Sunday brunch yet.
Above average service with small but interesting menu plus daily specials and a fixed 3 or 4 course menu at $36 & $45. Both times we have gone with our servers recommendations and not been disappointed. If you come hungry and thirsty it WILL cost you, so plan accordingly as you WILL be paying $25 and up for 4 oz of fish, with two tablespoons of polenta, 8 baby string beans and 5 very thin romano tomato slices and a large non-Croisant roll. The crepes on the lighter side are under $15 and include a VERY small salad; most by the glass wines are $9 and up are erratic, but the Monday night half price bottle special looks like a deal. We have enjoyed several fish dishes in parchment and collard greens and even the half duck was very good if a little short on ala orange' sauce and larger than expected. Crepes while not greasy still seemed a little heavy but very innovative.
Still has a newish look and feel with sparse sleek smoked glass modern. Not 5 star no matter how much you like their attempt to spin something better out of Woodstock. In addition to the newish look and feel comes what seems like inexperienced or just careless mistakes like serving a too warm a glass of pinot noir or a lemon rind bottom (why lemon anyway? WAY too acidic PLUS rind bottom) in a glass of Sangria.
Outside is very refreshing but comes with perfect precious children running largely out of control out of control and under foot.
Nice mall to walk around before and after dinner, Enjoy.
PS. BRING mosquito spray if outside at dusk so YOU aren't dessert (or retreat inside like we did tonight). -

Fabulous place!
We went and had crepes, drinks and desserts one night to check it out and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing and the service was even better.
everyone who passed our table helped clear or fill water/drink glasses without any disruption. When the waitress cam to take our order we were talking and she said "excuse me sorry for interrupting, are you ready to order?" So polite!
Our group was very pleased with this place and will be back for sure! -

Four or five stars for the food, one or two stars for the service. This was our second visit to L'eiffel Bistrot & Creperie, and the food has been excellent both times.
We thought we would go early to avoid the Friday evening crowd, and arrived just before 5 p.m. There were a few customers in the bar, and we were the only ones dining. What should have been excellent service was quite disappointing, as they were training new servers and had a ten minute staff meeting while our food sat under heat lamps in the kitchen waiting for us. By the time the food was delivered, the crepes were crispy / burned on the edges. Not the chef's fault.
I highly recommend the restaurant, but don't go too early before the usual dinner hour, or risk having the staff not prepared to serve you. -

I went with a friend on a Sunday evening around 5:15pm. We both agreed the evening was a solid 4 stars.
After being provided a tasting of two wines upon request, we split a bottle of the Côtes du Rhône, Santa Duc, Les Vieilles Vignes 06 - very nice.
We ordered the special appetizer - the strudel of duck confit, spinach, mushrooms and feta as well as the butternut squash and pumpkin soup. The soup was sweet, yet delicious. The strudel could have used more duck, but it was flaky, hot and savory.
They also served rolls and tapenade...while the tapenade was delicious the rolls could have been served hot/warm....they were ice cold.
We decided to go with the restaurant's strengths and order from the crepe menu. My friend ordered the La Bourguignone (Braised beef in red wine sauce, served with carrots, mushroom and baby pearl onions) and I ordered the La Country (Pancetta, aged Brie, mushroom and spinach) - both were rich and satisfying.
I will admit right from the beginning that I am consistently disappointed with desserts anywhere I go, with that in mind...we ordered the Oh La La Crepe - which was a crepe with Nutella and mixed nuts. Interestingly enough the crepe we were served for dessert was chewier and tougher than the crepe we had for dinner. It was super sweet and chewy...and in my opinion just not a great dessert. It needed ice cream or whipped cream to cut the richness of the chocolate/hazelnut spread.
The service from the maître d' and waitress was excellent...could have seen the busboy with water more often though. The only other commentary on the evening was that the seating could have been more comfortable. The bistro chairs are fine for lunch, but not very comfortable for dinner. We asked to be moved to one of two booth seatings, but were told they were alreasy reserved. What this tells me is that L'eiffel Bistrot & Creperie needs more booth seating...or more comfortable chairs.
Overall, we liked the ambiance, appetizers and entrees at L'eiffel Bistrot & Creperie and would definitely go back for more of their dinner crepes! -

I've walked by this place countless times and didn't realize it was an actual restaurant. I met a friend for "ladies night" on Wednesday and had a great time. We ate at the bar. The wine was $5. The mushroom appetizer was okay and the bread was average. The crepes were wonderful though. The pumpkin creme brule was cold...not sure if that's normal. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. The bartender had a good balance between friendly and professional. I would go again.
