PLEASE NOTE: This review is for L & C. Some of the earlier reviews are for L & G, which used to be located here. I used to frequent the place as I live in the vicinity and appreciated the proximity of what appeared to be a pretty accurate knock-off of Dragonball. Then L & G relocated and space was taken over by a knock-off of the knock-off, which renamed the place L & C by simply putting tape over the extra line in the letter G.
For a while, I didn't care, because the drinks seemed the same. Then they stopped honouring the former establishment's VIP cards. And then we noticed the drinks seemed to be getting a bit more watery. A revisit to Dragonball confirmed how far off the knock-off had become.
Nevertheless, it's a convenient location for me, so I do drop by from time to time. Despite the annoying parking situation (careful! it's not free!). -

Something just not right when they're selling $3.50 BBT; saw a customer order some mango, just looked so fake, with some unmelted powder still along the surface...

Horrible. Absolutely horrible. Now I haven't been here in over a few years but I decided to write a review anyways on my past experiences.
You might be skeptical about my bad review, especially since past reviewers gave this place a lot more stars, but I was born in Hong Kong and visit often, as well as other parts of Asia. I know what real BBT's supposed to taste like. If that isn't enough for you, none of my friends like this place. None. Seriously, none. This is probably one of the closest BBT joints to my house but I don't even think about going here. Ever.
I've only been here a few times but it's always cramped and dirty. The menu's extensive, sure, but the quality's so bad. So, so bad. So. Bad. I have no idea why past reviewers like this BBT, or even Dragonball's (that's another matter), but this place sucks. The pearls are the worst I've ever had, for sure.
This isn't the best place for BBT in Vancouver, for sure. If you're from out of town, go to Orange Corner in Kerrisdale. That's my favourite place that has the best BBT I've ever had as well as the nice decor and open space many many BBT places in Vancouver lack, mainly because the Asian owners are too cheap to realize that the inside of their BBT cafe counts.
Now I'm a huge BBT lover and I'd have it every single day if I could, but the experience that cut me off from this place's BBT was that one hot summer, my friend and I, being young and naïve, decided to stop by L&C for some BBT. It was so incredibly horrible and disgusting that we took two sips and threw it out into the garbage cans at the 41st and Granville bus stop. It was that bad. I swear this is a true story.
Don't go here. Just don't. Make the two minute drive west down 41st and stop at Orange Corner for BBT. Don't even go to Dragonball. Plus, you can park at the free parkade in Kerrisdale and walk across the street to Orange Corner.
Just a note, I'm not affiliated with L&C or Orange Corner in any way if you think that since I'm bashing on one and advocating for the other so much in my review. I'm just a BBT lover who wants to save any potential mouths from this horrible place as well as recommend the place where I love to get my BBT. If you love this place but haven't tried Orange Corner, please go then message me with your verdict.
Pros: location
Cons: quality, interior, parking, and just everything else
Verdict: Avoid this place at all costs. Do yourself a favour and head to Orange Corner not far from here. -

L&C (formally known as L&G, no idea if it's the same owners) is one ghetto bbt shop.
Even though this bubble tea is part of a small mall complex, there is NO free parking on the back. Look to Granville or 41st for this instead.
The inside is seriously beaten up, with marks and dents all over the wall as well as peeling paint. There were some highschool kids inside shooting the breeze. There's a stack of those Japanese magazines so you can look at chicks while drinking your bubble tea if so inclined. Lastly, the place reeked of BLEACH. At least the place is clean I guess. The other good news is that your nose goes numb after 5 minutes. I totally forgot about this for the rest of my visit.
Service was almost nonexistent. 4 of us came in to the front counter.. and there was nobody there. We waited, and waited, and waited some more. After a couple of minutes, a Chinese guy with a strange accent (he's definitely not from Hong Kong) stumbled over and asked us what we wanted. The drinks took another 5-10 minutes to make. Looks like they use fresh fruit here (I saw him carrying in entire fruits into the kitchen later on).
I a chance to try the longan hot tea ($3.75). Wow, this one was spicy. I opened it up and found large slices of ginger. This one was served with a spoon. Not sure if people actually eat those entire slices, but not for me.
There are some electrical sockets on the wall, but they're not in the most convenient positions, especially if you're sitting in the middle table. But they also have Wi-Fi, which is nice. The tables seat up to 4 people. Any more, and you're taking up 2 tables. But that's fine, as this place is 80% empty. Most people are here for takeout.
The product is nice, and the prices are reasonable, but seriously, this place is freaking GHETTO. -

The quest for the best bubble tea continues!
Since Dragonball is closed for the month, I'm on a rampage to find a good late-nite runner up.
L&G at 41st and Fraser did me juuuuust right.
It's a quiet, brightly-lit shop with dim sum options and fresh-fruit bubble tea. The owner is soft spoken and sweet. I felt bad for him because he was in there all by his lonesome late at night and business was quiet. The pearls were great and the fresh strawberry slush was tasty. The take-away cup is extra thick. I think I'll invest in big reusable cup to cut down on my BBT waste.
All in all a great stop, but still, no pearls beat Dragonballs pearls! -

I *love* L&G...along with DragonBall Tea House I think it's one of my favourite places to fill my pearl tea cravings.
On the wall behind the cashier is a large menu with what appears to be 100s of options. Milk tea...fresh fruit...ice cream bubble tea...I usually stand there slack-jawed for five minutes trying to decide on something.
You can combine flavours, and you don't have to stay with the standard pearls....jellies and pudding also are available. They also have a small snack menu.
It's conveniently located on the corner of W 41st and Granville, where many, many bus lines intersect (10,41,43,480,98,all the white rock ones...etc. etc.)Listed in: Vancouver Spots

Super nice, lovely owners. It took me a good ten minutes to figure out what I wanted - the menu is huge and extensive! I ended up with a strawberry lychee bubble tea with tapioca, which was amazing. No regrets here. I was debating on whether or not to try their 'cheesecake' bubble teas... I LOVE cheesecake and I was so intrigued by the concept! But my friend thought that it would be really heavy - which is probably true - so I hopefully kept the calorie count lower with a normal fruit bubble tea.
I've only been here once, but my lifelong Vancouverite friends assure me that this is one of the best (if not THE best) bubble tea shops in the whole city. They're quite picky, so I trust their judgments... Check this place out! -

As has been mentioned elsewhere, this is pretty much the best bubble tea spot in Vancouver (at least, in my area). There's an enormous board full of beverage choices (hot, cold - there are even Hong Kong-style snacks). The only problem is that service can be slow.
