Thank doughnutty goodness for this Krispy Kreme, one of few left in the area.  On a recent work outing to New York, my very first stop had to be here.  Although this location lacks the famous conveyor belt, my creme-filled glazed was fresh and delicious (don't let the calorie count scare you away).  I was somewhat surprised to find a large variety of doughnuts to choose from in addition to the famous, classic glazed variety.  Additionally, the dark roast coffee is way underrated - I love it.  If there was a KK location near me, I'd choose KK's dark roast over my go-to Starbucks any day of the week.  And to get a KK and a medium coffee for less than $3.25 in New York??  Didn't think that was possible.

Only reason I can't give this KK 5 stars is because, due to its tiny location in Penn Station, it lacks a seating area.  Kind of awkward and uncomfortable to eat your KK and drink your coffee standing up in the steamy station.  Oh well, it's worth it!!

    Uhmm..let's see..
How Krispy Kreme differs from Dunkin D. is that their donuts are smaller and over glazed.  In addition, they do not offer promos or discounts most of the times unlike Dunkin D.

A bit pricier too, but hey, what can we say, when you're renting a spot in the Penn Plaza, the rental fee is way yay high!

Krispy Kreme!  Oh how I adore you!

As the only KK in NYC, it's my duty to love you.  And...what's not to love?  Light, airy, pillows of heaven. KK puts any other doughnut to shame.

The only thing that's missing is the conveyor belt of freshly made doughnuts.  However, it's nothing that 10 seconds in the microwave can't fix.

I like this Krispy Kreme. It's fairly close to my internship and the selection of donuts was decent for the overall store size.

The cashier was nice and very friendly - and of course, the donuts are great.

I love Krispy Kreme!  There donuts are amazing!!!

The donuts are light and fluffy and just melt in your mouth.  They are best when they are fresh!  You can never have too many donuts!

My favorite is the original glazed donut, but if you like filled donuts I recommend the raspberry filled donut or the boston creme donut. Both are very very tasty!  I will say, once you have one you'll need to have at least 1-2 more!

The staff is very friendly and quick.

If you're going to get a few, you might as well get a dozen.
    One donut is $1.10
    Half dozen is $5.75
    Dozen: Original - $8.75, Mixed - $9.00

The location may be hard to find depending on where you get in as it is right in Penn Station, the best way to get there, is go in through Madison Square Garden (MSG).  If you are in the main rotunda with the time table, if you are looking at the table it is on your right hand side.

I bought in a few dozen at work, and there was a mob to get one!  They went super quickly, everyone loves them!

    I would definitely recommend going!

No offense to THIS Krispy Kreme branch or anything, just Krispy Kreme in general... KoOkY KriSpY KrEme KKK Ha HA ha Just kidding.

    Ok.

Donut: leaves something...wanting. Got the chocolate glazed cuz I wanted something a lil'mmmmore. Like something to fill my mouth (that's what she said arrrhaaarrr) anyways this is just a big ole long winded way of saying 'I desired something denser (than a classic glazed donut) cake-like, chewy yet crumbly, something to really ponder on as I twist and roll it around through my mouth...'

That said, it's like eating cotton candy :-/

Delightfully melty and sugary sweet, but disappears in my mouth WAY too fast. Hey, that's not a donut!

Hard not to like this place; came here early in the AM for a snack on my train. Quick and efficient service and my chocolate cake doughnut was delicious and warm (though it was early morning so it had just come out). Doughnuts are slightly smaller than other locations but unless someone points it out to you, you probably wouldn't notice.

Would not come here unless was coming in or out of Penn Station but it's clean and always has lots of doughnut options. Bonus points for accepting credit card payment for a under $2 transaction

I can't seem to find any other Krispy Kremes in this area (darn you Dunkin Donuts!!) so this location, sketchy as it is, will do.  I remember my summer internship days, when I would come into NYC a lot via Penn Station, I would love stopping by Krispy Kreme to grab a donut for the day!

I just went back recently and let's see, the donuts seemed to be a bit smaller than usual - The $1.10 original glazed donut was so puny that I basically finished it in 2-3 bites.  Um, what?  I loved sinking my teeth into the thick Krispy Kreme donuts back in the south, with my teeth breaking that glaze on top of the donut, mm mm!  This donut however, seemed a bit too squishy.  Not sure if it was a weird batch, but the rest of the glazed donuts looked to be of similar size though.  Drats!

In conclusion: seems to be only Krispy Kreme around, but the sizes seemed to have shrunk here.  That, and coupled with the odd location inside Penn Station, leaves me a little hesitant to trek here for donuts but if I'm in the area, maybe I'll come here for a donut fix.

KRISPY KREME DOUGHNUTS ARE THE BEST!!!!!
I love Krispy Kreme. I first ate a delicious Krispy Kreme doughnut at the now closed East Meadow, Long Island store. Wow, when you walked in, the smell of the donuts being made just got you. It was heavenly!! As you walked in, you saw the doughnuts coming off their trays, bathing in oil, flipping for the other side to get some oil, and then rolling down the conveyor belt. Doughnut theater as I called it! And, if you walked in when they were making the original glazed doughnuts, you got a free doughnut.
And the doughnuts are delicious. And the doughnut of the month is always fantastic. My personal favoritse: the chocolate iced with sprinklse and the glazed lemon filled.  In my opinion, KK are the best on the market, putting Dunkin Donuts to shame. Sadly, the stores in NYC and Long Island have all closed, and the only remaining one is this location in Penn Station. The doughnuts are trucked in from somewhere, but they are fresh, delicious and wonderful
Good news: Krispy Kreme has opened a location in Philadelphia with plans for a second. Also opening in southern NJ. Long live Krispy Kreme.

Head for the one in Penn Station while it remains open.  This place closes for renovations more often than Lindsay Lohan goes to rehab.  Who knows how long it will be in business?

The donuts are small compared to other chains, but that's great for those who don't want huge portions.  They are also less heavy - to the point of melt-in-your-mouth quality.  The only place which compare is Doughnut Plant, which is much more expensive.

My favorites?  Sugar and raspberry filled.  But I haven't tried one which I didn't like.

The service is friendly, much more so than most chains.

I'll return soon.  Want to help keep it in business!

Is this the last Krispy Kreme in America? No, but it certainly is the last one in the Metropolitan area. After watching over a dozen Krispy Kreme stores close in the Upstate NY area, I thought that I would never live to sample the delicious sugary goodness of Krispy Kreme again...

It was only a few weeks ago that Rusty was reminded of their location at Penn Station. I honestly thought that KK had gone out of business entirely, and this branch with it...but after some searching, we were able to find the small shop right next to the Amtrak Station.

Cheap, tasty, oh so melt in your mouth! You can't go wrong with KK! Even though they do not bake donuts at this location, they are delivered fresh twice a day...so New Yorkers can still indulge on the BEST DONUT IN THE WORLD.

Krispy Kreme was in eyesight of our gate at Penn Station, so I had to stop by. Believe it or not, all the Krispy Kremes in Cincinnati closed! The atrocity! I ordered a creme-filled with chocolate icing and a lemon donut, my favorite, which is super hard to find.

It was a reasonably priced snack for our train ride departing New York at only $2.80. Service was quick and pleasant. Glad to see this place is still surviving in the Big Apple.

Thank you Krispy Kreme for giving out a free donut for each customer on National Donut Day 6/3!

The lines are usually long and it's not just for a free donut.  I see plenty of customers buying a dozen.  This location has a corner real estate between the concourse and 7th Ave entrance.  You can't miss it!

The original glazed donut still holds up to be the best glazed donut nationally.

This is not a review for the specific location but just KK itself.

The first time I tried Krispy Kreme, I got sick from it. My stomach was hurting most of the morning and throughout the day, even though it wore off later on.

I find them overly sweet, too oily and not very enjoyable. I really wanted to like them but it just wasn't that special.

Sorry guys this one gets the lowest rating I've ever used on Yelp.

I didn't know perfection existed... then I found KRISPY KREME!

My lover, my best friend, my protector of all evil Mr. Krispy Kreme.

I just don't think Mr. Kreme understands the amount of sweet joy he brings into my stressful New York City life. Only if there were more of you, only if you were 24/hours and only if you didn't put thoughts in my head of sticking a finger down my throat after enjoying you (can you say 10,000,000 calories and most likely 500 grams of fat).

Krispy Kreme DESERVES 5 STARS! The only reason I gave it 4 is for its poor location (For NY Locals). I don't find myself strolling downstairs of Penn Station often.

If you crave... a doughnut that is possible of bringing you tears of joy. Krispy Kreme in your answer. My favorites happen to be the Original Glazed, Raspberry Jelly Filled & Sour Cream Glazed.

    Remember... I warned you! ;o)

What happened to Krispy Kreme?  I used to always hit the one in Chelsea and it's gone.  There used to be at least 4 of them.  I went on the Krispy Kreme website and looked in NY.  According to the KRISPY KREME WEBSITE, there's only TWO left in NY.  Penn Plaza and one in Buffalo.  That's right folks.  Only 2 in the whole damn state!!!

We must unite and get more Krispy Kremes open!  Shit man, make up a petition or something.  I live upstate, you try and park near Penn Station.  Don't make a brotha drive out of state if the Penn Plaza one goes under.  I sure as hell am not driving to Buffalo.

Meanwhile, Dunkin Donuts is spreading all over the place like a plague.  Dunkin Donuts is SO over-rated it's not funny man.  When I hit up the Kreme, I eat just two donuts and I can feel the tooth decay!! Long Live the Kreme!!

My poor brother.  It must have been hard being a vegetarian in the ghetto.  One summer they shipped us down south for a bit and that was the exchange he had.  Poor kid lived for like 2 weeks on the closet thing to crack that the south had to offer...krispy kreme donuts.  At six or seven, I guess they figured they would break him and he would be eatin a hamburger in no time.  Nope...We like crackheads, we kept finding a way to get our fix.  whatever the mystery ingredient is, I don't care.  I just hope its not made of people....

Shuffling through a giant commuter crowd after a long day in NJ..and spotting Krispy Kreme is truly an oasis for me. I feel like I can reward myself after a boring day by snatching up a little glazed doughnut puff that pretty much melts in your mouth on contact. And I already missed lunch b/c I was stupidly fumbling about on the NJ transit, so what's one more tiny act of unhealthiness going to do?

What a delight, I haven't seen a Krispy Kreme outside of Penn Station since I left Chicago around 2 years ago...

These donuts are but a shadow of their California forebears. No magical conveyor belt, no fountain of frosting, and no warm doughy goodness that usually accompany Krispy Kreme donuts.  But make no mistake, even without these, Penn Station's Krispy Kreme still serves donuts with the best frosting to surface area ratio [1] -- a Krispy Kreme distinction -- and trounces Dunkin Donuts any day.

    ----
[1] This results in the perfect proportion of frosting and dough in every bite.

OK come on it's Krispy Kreme and granted it's not the best location ever I'm in it for the donuts. Those moist amazing super glazed donuts that keep you coming back for more and more and begin to grow in the belly region lol.

There are a lot of other places you can go for a quick snack but when I itch for donuts and I'm in the area I'm going to drag whomever I'm with here. I love Dunkin as well but Krispy Kreme is like a hidden treasure.

It's closed now which blows but I've got Dunkin so it's all good.

I went to college in Western New York, where Krispy Kreme was always available hot from the stove. You could come in anytime and they would have fresh donuts right out of the oven for you ( always a complementary hot glazed donut.)

Quick service & reasonable prices for Penn (though it is just donuts, and it is just donuts, respectively). To-go cups of donuts intrigued but scared me, so I opted for the banana doughnut and the NY cheesecake doughnut (good but tasted more like key lime than cheesecake?). Tinier donuts than I remembered but the addition of calorie counts pretty visibly was helpful, and surprisingly refreshing (only 340 calories per tiny donut rather than the 500 I'd expect).

Free donut day 6.3.11 update: the promo wasn't offered to those that preceded me, and my exposure of the event seemed to irk employees, as the folks behind me all capitalized on it.

This is the last krispy kreme in new york city! *gasp* what happened to the other two? *cries* And the one left doesn't make them hot anymore! *sobs* Why oh why? Could it be that these donuts are pure sugar and melt in your mouth? or that you can feel the cavity forming in your mouth? These cold donuts will have to do, as they are still fluffy and sweet. Their special donuts are always something to try, whatever they felt like whipping up. The cinnamon type roll is quite good. I always get one of those along with the original glazed one. But alas if they made them fresh there, they would melt into your mouth like sugar with no chewing required.
You can really go wrong here, they're donuts are oh so good, don't read the calorie count, and just let it go. One donut won't kill you. 12 probably wont' help your diet, but its ok to let 1 in. If you're diabetic, keep walking, really keep walking.
I'd give them a 5 if they made it hot and fresh there!

Considering this is located within Penn Station, its meant for the would-be commuters / travelers who are passing by. With that in mind, they serve some of the freshest donuts I've had in NYC. Given the constant traffic, they're forced to make more donuts as the days go on. Prices are standard for most Krispy Kreme locations and they feature a good selection for the little store that they have. Note: There is no seating (unless you count the benches within Penn Station).

As possibly the last person in NY who had never eaten a Krispy Kreme Doughnut, I figured that it was time for me to break my KK 'cherry'. Well, I should have stayed a Krispy Kreme virgin. Ewwww!!! WTF!!!! The glazed doughnut tasted like lard, flour and artificial sugar deep fried. It had an after taste that made me think of plastic. The anticipation was far better than the act. Did I say Ewwww already? The ONLY reason I am giving this tragically bad doughnut place one star is because the service person was nice!  Doughnut Plant, I'm so sorry I cheated... never again will I stray from your wonderful sweets again~

This one is located in Penn Station by the NJ Transit area. Its actually the only Krispy Kreme in NYC and only one of two in the state of NY (the other one is in the Buffalo area), the next closest location is in CT somewhere. There's a reason some places are chains, its because they do something right and people appreciate it. Krispy Kreme is no exception, they are the freshest and tastiest donuts you'll find nearly anywhere. I'm a little disappointed they don't serve a lot of common things here like hot chocolate but with donuts like theirs they don't have to do much else. There really isn't a bad flavor but one of the best in my opinion is their Boston Cream (or Custard filled, I forget what they call it here). I used to have a friend in Mass who would drive to NYC just for Krispy Kremes, he was a little obsessed but that tells you something about their donuts, they really are crack filled I'm sure. Don't take this place for granted, there are people in states that don't have Krispy Kremes, so come on down and eat one for them.
