At first, I thought this was an all day breakfast kind of place. Since the menu did not have anything mentioning french toast or pancakes on it, I wondered why there were plates with butter and syrup on the counter at the front. The menu did have enough variety, and reminded me a bit of Route 99 but smaller (with sections for burgers, dinners, pizza, etc.).

My companion ordered the roast beef dinner. The portion did not look all that big - a few slices of roast beef on bread topped with gravy and served with fries (or choice of other sides). He said the gravy was really good and he seemed to like it - I did not taste it so I can't say one way or the other. It looked average to me.

I ordered one of the breakfast items, which was a hamburger patty with two eggs, served with toast and home fries (another way of saying hash browns). The burger was overdone, and had a crust on it that made my friend choke when he tasted it. The eggs were done to order (I like them scrambled) but were lukewarm when my plate arrived. The home fries were very greasy and tasted too much from oil.

Unlike the other reviews here, we found the service to be all right, although it would have been nice to get some attention during the choking episode, which was rather dramatic. The place also did not have the atmosphere of a family restaurant. I don't think I would rush to come back here on future visits to St. Albert.

I'm being extremely generous giving this restaurant two stars. This used to be a half decent restaurant with a lounge where you could meet up with a friend or two for drinks. Not so much now. The staff seem to use the lounge as a break room. The hostess and waitress looked like they were about 12 years old. I asked for a bottle of Stella and they looked at me like I was from another planet. Don't service people have to be 18 to serve alcohol? Anyhow, I went for a diet cola and an appetizer called "Shrimp Boats." It turned out to be burnt potato skins with salad shrimp, green onions and cheese melted in the shell. I only ate the inside but still got really ill when I got home.

In all fairness, I also tried Krickets out for brunch with my parents a few times about a year ago. The service was horrid, slow and the food wasn't very good. Avoid the hollandaise sauce at all costs!

Well, where do I start.  When we first arrived for dinner at 6, I thought the place was closing.  There was nobody in the restaurant.  Usually that us the first sign of a bad eating spot, but we went through with it anyways.  Once in we were greeted by a person who looked no more than 17 to show us to our table in the empty restaurant.  The staff was prompt to serve but then the cook came out.  Now if you are going to stand in a kitchen open to the public, atleast try and look professional.  This should have been the 2nd tip off.  To make a long story short.  The food was average at best.  This is not a place to go for a nice dinner.  Maybe if you were just passing by and nothing else was open and you were dying if hunger then maybe stop in.

I have to agree with the other review.

This place seemed rather shady. The servers looked young and this looked like the kind of place where they don't worry about ID'ing you. The service was terrible. What can you expect from a place with a shady vibe though?

I was visiting a friend and we decided to check this place out. Only because I liked the name. I thought it might be a type of British spot. I was sadly mistaken.

Food was great and fast. Typical greasy spoon breakfast special. 2 eggs toast, your choice of meat and the hashbrowns were delish for a great breakfast special price.. Unfortunately the service was horrible. We had to ask for refills and get up and grab our bill after waiting 20-30 after getting our plates cleared. Wouldn't ever return, found my server checking herself out in the bathroom while waiting for the said refills.

Just to add my voice to the choir here, this place is absolutely horrible. We did order breakfast foods, but when they brought the food, they said it would take a moment for the toast to be done. We then saw our toast come up on the counter, and the server ignored it for our entire meal and wouldn't come to our table. So, when she finally brought it our meal was done, and the toast was cold. I told the waitress we'd been waiting our toast the whole meal, and she said the cook just put it up... so basically she lied to my face. The potatoes were oily, but worse, the oil tasted like they hadn't changed it in a long time. All in all, terrible food, terrible service, and after not giving us toast with our meal, they still charged us for it. Never, ever go here.

Had breakfast there this morning. Service was terrible. Server didn't bring butter and syrup with french toasts. By the time we were able to get her attention, french toasts were already cold and butter wouldn't melt. We sent them back and asked to have new ones made. She brought back the same plate after stuffing it in the microwave. Huh? Microwaved french toasts? I asked for multi grain toasts and they brought me whole wheat and told they were the same!!! Don't think I'll go back again.
