No one will believe me but this is the best mall on earth. Sure other
malls have their fancy pants "renovations" and "stores that you've heard
of" but the Kozlov Centre has something none of them have and that's
character. It's hard to describe the grandeur of the Kozlov Centre but
my best description is that it is a time machine that takes you back to
a mall that was crappy in the 80's. I know that this sounds like a
negative description, but in fact it's why I love it so much. This is
not a mall to find the latest fashion or to find the newest type of ice
cream they sell at the food court, this is a mall to visit and remember
the way things used to be and revel in how bad a mall can get and still
    manage to stay in business.

The Kozlov Center has been in desperate need of new stores for the past ten to fifteen years, and as a result, it's always deserted. If you'd like to accomplish some eerily-quiet shopping, then I suppose this mall is the place to do it.

It's attractive enough on the inside, if not dated, but it is seriously lacking in the merchant department. Metro and Zellers are the only reasons I visit this mall. (And even at that, Metro more so than Zellers). Walking into this mall, especially a store like Zellers, is like stepping out of a timemachine that has taken you back to the early 90's. Interpret that as you wish. Other than that, this mall is forgettable. There is really nothing to do or see here. Even the food court is dead. It's sad, really. I used to visit more prominently as a child, and I remember thinking it had a certain charm to it. I do think that charm is still there, but it's hidden very deeply beneath obscure stores and an empty, vacant atmosphere. It doesn't matter if I'm visiting on a Tuesday morning or Saturday afternoon - I'm basically guaranteed to be shopping alone.

We need some new merchants to pick up the slack and start encouraging people to visit this mall again. I'd enjoy coming here if there was a reason to continuously come back, other than picking up groceries semi-regularly from Metro and purchasing clothes twice a year from Zellers. Let's give Barrie something to talk about and, more importantly, let's give this mall more of a purpose.

    "Not a fan."

I have fond memories of the Kozlov mall; however, they're all from a decade ago. Now, in contrast, it's difficult to discern where it fits within the "big three" malls in Barrie.

The Kozlov centre a source for the exclusive experiences of Zellars, Video Time, and Metro grocers in Barrie. However, notwithstanding those few gems (I use this word loosely), the mall doesn't provide much beyond some run-of-the-mill Pet Stores and a sub-par food court.

    Sorry!
