If you're looking for authentic, you couldnt get any closer than here. Order a small hot pot and it's good for 3-4 people. Their seafood pancake is just ok but their kimchi is delicious!

Great lunch menu at a great price.
Met up with an old friend for lunch today at Potter's Garden, and the food was great. Ordered the Chicken Udon, and 6 piece dumpling. Super tasty meal at a great price. Lunch for two only came out to $23.
Ample parking on the street or in the adjacent parking lot. -

Never knew there was a mini-Koreatown in Burnaby, but here it is. The plaza actually has a Korean supermarket and karaoke place too.
There is a mini parking lot in the back. Today it was slow, but on the weekends I'd imagine this place would get swamped.
Decor is plain but classy. They were playing happy Korean pop songs in the background on the TV.
Plenty of Korean customers eating here, so you know it's decent as well.
They give you 4 types of appies (potato, kimchi, seaweed, bean sprouts).
Seafood pancake - actually one of the best I've had. The bits of seafood are cut up small enough that you don't have to chew large bits of squid.
Spicy noodles with skate (some kind of ray) - cold noodles clumped together in a ball, so we had to cut up with scissors. This thing was pretty spicy. Skate pieces had lots of tough cartilage, but you can chew through it (not sure if you are supposed to though) and eat everything. Served with a bottle of vinegar and wasabi sauce. (sunomono anyone?)
Raw beef with pear and green onion - this was served in cylindrical form (about the same shape and size as a can of tuna fish) with a raw egg on top. Very intriguing, but my friend insisted I HAD to try this. It was freaking good. If beef tataki is your thing, this blows it out of the water. I was skeptical of the pear strips, but actually it worked out, as the pears added a sweetness that didn't taste artificial.
Definitely one of the better Korean places out there. Recommended. -

* Solid Korean offering *
What a huge menu selection! It was hard to choose!
I had the galbijjim-jeongsik. It was a really nice dish. The broth delicately combined the marrow flavour from the bones with a pleasant sweetness and was not overly salty. The beef was tender, falling off the bone. The bones had a lot of good juice to suck out of them.
They threw in some wild mushrooms, pieces of fresh yam, hourglass shaped rice cakes (I've normally seen those sliced into ovals, not in this hourglass shape before - which made them very easy to pick up with the chopsticks instead of being slippery), sweet potato noodles, thin strips of egg, and several types of veggies. This was all presented in a stone bowl so the soup remained hot for the entire meal. Great dish.
They had a limited selection of banchan, but they were of very high quality. The kimchi came with whole leaves wrapped around the darker coloured green leaves. They provided scissors to chop it up at the table. There were also marinated soybeans and seaweed. Both were not overly salty as well.
Service was also really friendly and on top of things, even though it was fairly crowded. Lunch was really reasonably priced too - $7.95 for all of the above.
I was just there for lunch alone so I didn't get to order the multiple dishes I wanted to try. They seem to have a good variety of hot pots, soups, stews, and BBQ items meant for larger groups.
They also have some dishes you aren't as likely to find at other spots around town (yukhoe (Korean tartare), ox blood soup, stir-fried ox stomach and intestines, freshwater snails, and stir-fried chicken ribs just to name a few).
I'll be back to work my way through the menu!Listed in: Engrish, Vancouver Korean Food

I came to this place in a group (6 people total). I have never had Korean BBQ before, and was a little bit nervous. But the place looked very nice, clean and well laid-out, and when I had made the reservation earlier, the lady who answered first spoke in (I assume)Korean - that's usually a good sign.
They put us in a room with the barbecue built into the table. We also got a service bell, so the servers didn't have to always poke their heads in.
The server was excellent; we told her that this was our first time and she guided us through the basics. She was very sweet and didn't seem to mind teaching us.
We ordered the meal combo for 5-6 people(Combo D- chicken, beef, pork, hot pot, various other dishes). We were a bit worried when the first thing that arrived was a plate of 5 gyoza, but there was definitely enough food for all of us. It probably could have easily fed 7 people.
I was amazed at the variety of dishes; most were just a little sampling to go along with the meat and veggies that we cooked on the barbecue, but all the different textures and tastes were great.
There was plenty of meat, and it was delicious, tender and well marinated. It was thinly sliced, but large pieces had to be cut with the scissors that were provided (the first time I've seen scissors used at a meal).
Eating here was an adventure for us. We weren't completely sure we were eating the right things with the right sauces or sides, but we did whatever tasted good. It was definitely a cooperative effort to keep all the food cooking evenly and taken off in time. It seems to be a very social way to eat a meal.
In summary, I would definitely recommend this restaurant, and may very well come back for another special occasion. -

Very friendly server we had last night. We ordered the BBQ set B and it was a whole lot of food for 3 people. Everything was fresh and delicious and I loved that they had parking (always a bonus!). Go hungry.
