I just had a hearty laugh at the review that says the food is overpriced. I don't live in the area, so I am always looking for something that can compare to the 2 Egger Sandwich for $2.20 closer to where I live. That is by far the most reasonably priced and delicious breakfast sandwich I've had in a while. Sure it's a simple order, but I get cravings for it and have a hard time finding anything similar under $6!! The owner is very very nice, passionate about his business, and accommodating. If you call in your order he will run it out to your car with a smile and appreciation for your business, even if it is an order so small you can pay for with change. That kind of service definitely makes you want to come back!

Been here several times. Each time I feel that the food is overpriced. There are other options people.

I tried this place based on some great reviews here on Yelp. After my visit, I felt I needed to add to the discussion. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the food quality and won't be back.
PROS:
* Staff (owner?) were super nice. He had a smile on his face, greeted several people as if they were old friends and made sure that people got just what they wanted.
CONS:
* The food quality. I had a cheeseburger and curly fries. The curly fries were fine but the burger's cheese had almost a sandy/grainy character to it. It made for a bad mouthfeel. The burger itself was just ok. Nothing too special.
* Decor is somewhat lacking but this wasn't that big of a deal. I knew what I was walking into from the outside.

I just had the Italian beef with sweet peppers, very good! Kids ate up the hot dogs-they are picky about their hot dogs, often don't finish them at other places.
Great onion rings, fries with the peel still on, Mozza sticks, Chicago style dogs, and try the peanut butter Chocolate shake! -

after driving all the way out to barrington last weekend for work, i needed a quick lunch and some caffeine to rouse me from my slightly hungover saturday morning stupor. my client said kookers was the way to go.
typical burgers/dogs/gyros joint. seemed to be packed full of soccer mom types loading up on ice cream and milkshakes for the kiddies. owner was very friendly. was schmoozing with some local politicians when i walked in. apologized heartily when i ordered a gyro and they were out. he gave me a free large pop for the inconvenience. my burger and fries were still over $7, though.... suburban inflation?
overall: good burger, decent fries, mediocre ranch, friendly service, too many kids. -

I've got a soft spot for Kooker's. It's an anchor of the Barrington community. They've got an awesome VEGGIE burger (somewhat unusual around these parts). My husband isn't a fan of the gyro but approves of everything else. The main attraction is the kooky Kooker's guy who doles out "free smiles" and always manages to brighten my day.

Great burgers at this casual sandwich and fries shop. Counter service is always friendly and fast, the food is good, and the prices are unbeatable. Definitely a step up from a quick lunch or dinner in a chain joint.

Kookers is a terrific neighborhood diner/greasy spoon restaurant in Barington. It features terrific burgers, shakes(the pineapple is awesome) and fries as well as good Italian beef and hotdogs. They feature daily specials and make their own soups and chili. There is also a great bargain menu in retaliation for the recession where most everything costs 1.09. When you go make sure to try the Fiesta tots they are a must eat item. A great value with old time personalized service well worth the trip.

In my opinion i don't think that Kookers is that good. There food it very greasy. The amount of food that they give you for the price isn't worth it. It it over priced. There burgers are usually burnt. But Id have to admit they do have good fries and shakes. But i wouldn't go back. Its located in the right area. But it just not good enough to go back.
