My mother taught me at a young age how important it is to take care of your skin.  She is living proof that good skin care and the odd facial can make a world of difference as she is regularly mistaken for a woman of fewer years.  Due to this education, I have also been very particular about who touches my skin and what products I use.  To top it all off, I have extremely sensitive skin and allergies, so not just any facial will do!

I heard about Koyla through a friend who recommended their Eminence Slimming Wrap before a trip to Mexico.  I booked myself in a few days before I left for the wrap and some body sugaring.  I showed up early in the morning, not sure what to expect, and slightly afraid as I have my usual place I have been going to for about 10 years now, so this is a big change for me!  I was put at ease right away as I was ushered into a very peaceful treatment room with soft music, ambient lighting, and a fish tank.

Kamila gave me the best wrap ever.  The treatment itself was relaxing and I fell asleep for the majority of it.  Unfortunately the sugaring came second after I was all relaxed (my own fault for booking both in the same day) and it was painful, but not as bad as waxing, and I Kamila did an amazing job.  I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a completely relaxing and truly holistic experience.  The treatment not only catered to my physical self, but also my spiritual through the meditative space and calming music and general good energy of Kamila (her sister Patrycja is equally as wonderful!).  I was also completely comfortable in this space even though the experience was much more "whole body" than anything else I had been exposed to.  But, at the age of 28, I think I have lost all self consciousness and it really did feel like a safe, caring space!

I would recommend this place to ANYONE looking for a great spa experience.  The atmosphere was lovely, the treatments divine, and the service amazing!  They even provided a electrolyte drink and an organic chocolate at the end for one last sweet experience.

They often have specials, so if you attend the spa, be sure to sign up for their mailing list.

The small spa located at the back of a health store is geared toward natural beauty treatments. They use organic skin products, and integrate the holistic, mind-body philosophy into their services. I found the front receptionist lovely to deal with, and although I haven't had a treatment here yet, I plan to.

She described many of the treatment to me, which include facials, body wraps, massage and sugaring, which is a more "natural," less harsh process of hair removal than waxing. Their herbal mud wrap and the warm oil body wrap sound heavenly and perfect for winter therapy.

Their prices are on par, or a little bit less, than some of the other more exclusive spas in the city, but there's only one room, so need to book about a week in advance.

I have been to Kolya Day Spa twice: once for the facial (Dr. Hauschka ultimate experience), and once for the body treatment (Herbal Mud Wrap). Both experiences made feel relaxed, rejuvinated and polished. Both treatments were conducted by Patrycja- the woman with magic hands as I call her. She is very courteous, professional and made me feel at ease. She does not force you into talking, politely answers any questions you may have for her, and lets you listen to the wonderfully relaxing music that playes in the dim and warm treatment room. Both times I went for the treatments, I doze off. Dr. Hauschka facial treatment left my skin plump and rejuvenated. There were no extractions involved, and yet my skin was flawlessly clean. The body wrap procedure lasted about two hours, and these were the best two hours of my life! They involved body scrubbing, mud mask application, being wraped in saran wrap and towels (to sweat out all the impurities) and heavenly massage. Every treatment at Kolya Spa finishes with you having a cup of hot herbal tea. The treatments are pricey, but Kolya personel uses only organic products which are expensive to begin with. Oh, and did I mention that Kolya staff are all professionally trained?
Kolya has a great selection of organic skin and hair care products such as Eminence, Jurlique and Dr. Hauschka as well as Jane Iredale make-up, all of which you can purchase at the spa's front desk reception.
