AWell this was my first visit to kokomo's and must say it wasn't bad. I read some of the other reviews before entering and noticed there hasn't been a review in awhile. I ordered the hot wings because I've been craving all week, and I wasn't disappointed. Service was good and fast, now mind you I was there on off hours so the place wasn't jumping, but steady. Now I noticed a previous review and someone mentioned they have renovated, not sure when that was done, or what it looked like previously but it is a little bland looking. Not bad looking, but nothing to write home about. I did notice some of the other plates heading to tables and it all looked good, people were cleaning their plates so I'm guessing they enjoyed as well.
So in closing I would visit this establishment again, good food, good service, oh and about some of the other reviews talking about smoke, that is no longer relevant due to the smoking bylaw, no smoke smell at all.
only con, needs some atmosphere -

As the other reviews are from March 2010, I thought I'd note that Kokomo's has been undergoing renovations this year and no longer has the beachy theme with fake hut and trees. Even though I'm not a smoker, I have never noticed the smell of smoke --- besides, with the smoking bylaw, there's no smoking in the restaurant.
I've only been there on weekends at lunch time, but can say that the service has been good, food is better than many pub/lounge-style restaurants (I would not describe this as a family atmosphere but no reason not to bring children). So far, this is my favourite Philly cheese steak location. Sorry to my friends --- this dish appears to be a bit of an obsession for me ;) -

I agree with Sarah, Kokomo's needs to do something about the lingering smell of smoke through the restaurant. Everything about this place is in my opinion a little bit outdated. It is the type of place that toes the line between being a family friendly eatery and a full blown bar. One one hand, my view of an entire UFC match was obstructed by a fake palm tree, and on the other hand as my friends and I were leaving a few drunk patrons wondered out and started peeing on the side of the building.
I've never been overwhelmed by the food at Kokomo's, it's been alright, but nothing that I couldn't order at any other establishment in this city. Service was quick and with a smile, but our waitress didn't check back with us at all and we were left to wonder to the bar looking for more drinks.
Hot Hint: On (UFC) fight nights pitchers are cheap and this place can fill up fast. -

If you're a fan of wings, Kokomo's is your destination.
Sure, Kokomo's does many other things very well - but it's the wings that will keep you coming back. Kokomo's caters to a varied palate too - you can request the wings in just about every stage from mild to suicide.
Kokomo's dining set-up is remarkably well suited for group dining. For individuals, couples and families, there are booths lining the front windows. For larger groups, there are tables in the main floor area that can easily be combined. And the staff at Kokomo's are always happy to meet your needs, whether it be for a high chair or for a large group wing night.
If you're not the wings night type, rest assured that Kokomo's offers a wide variety of mainstream choices, from great salads to a delicious beef sandwich with au jus for dipping. Trust me, it's delicious! -

Don't you love going in a restaurant and wishing you could smoke cigarettes? Well Kokomo's isn't like that... well maybe a little. I'm 99% sure it is a bar and not a family restaurant because you can still smell the cigarette smoke from before there were rules.
The food actually tasted like cigarettes, and it seemed like the workers just wanted to go on break to have their next cigarette.
Man I want cigarette now!
