Wow! I needed an update. I'm in here at least once a week. Contrary to my first review, I don't think I've ordered those rolls again....

Go for the $6.25 specials. Always. I usually order on my way home from work at about 2 blocks away and step in to recieve my order almost immediately. Amazing.

Monday: 3 rolls for $6.25?  Yes please!
Tuesday: 3 rolls for $6.25?  Yes please!
Wednesday: 3 rolls for $6.25?  Yes please!
Thursday: 3 rolls for $6.25?  Yes please!

    ....you get the gist.

This place is amazing.  Cheap food done right.  Okay, sushi isn't SO awesome, but it sure is tasty for $6.25.  And people appear to agree with me because the place is always filled with other $6.25 enthusiasts.

Not only is the food worthy of being eaten, the service is quick and the place reminds me of a diner with booth style seating.  Sushi in a diner you ask?  Unheard of?  Despicable?  Ridiculous?  Well sir, everything should be eaten in a diner setting: indian food, korean food, chinese food and especially sushi.   All that's missing are creepy broken lights swinging back and forth in the distance, but I guess some would say that's a plus.

I rarely give 5 stars but this place deserves it, if solely to satisfy the thrifty scrooge in me.   Cheap eats, good service, casual ambiance.  If I could eat it right now, I would and you should too.

    $6.25.

Warning: This may cause the Thailand Effect.  Once trying Kojima Sushi, you may go to other sushi restaurants and wish you went to Kojima because it's cheaper and tastier.  True story, it happened to a friend of a friend of mine.

    Fast. Cheap. Tasty.

Central on the Drive and en route to work for me, it's a great place to pop in for a quick bite. They have a great lunch combo for a ridiculously good price. While not haute cuisine, it's dependable. I love the simple, straight up spicy tuna.

A good place for a lunch meeting or an informal date.

This is a great spot for quick, cheap sushi located conveniently mid-Drive.

They have a unique way of doing spicy tuna sashimi...a mountain of little cubes atop some lettuce and smothered in spicy sauce; very good.

Basic lunch and other sushi specials with all the Western sushi you could think of, decent tempura and boxes. I appreciate the fact that they don't give you the gnarly end bits when you order things like spicy salmon crunch roll, spicy tuna roll, etc.

The place is very clean, as once I accidentally went in through the kitchen thinking it was a back door. They were cool about it :)

I have only ever ordered take-out from here before, so I cannot speak to their dining service.

Kojima is located near my work and we order from their at least four times a week.  Almost every day.  They always know it's us on the phone and I have always found them to be friendly, fast and accurate.  I have never heard any complaints from any of my coworkers and like I said, we order from there A LOT.

Everyone always orders the sushi special which is pretty much an unrivaled deal - any three rolls plus miso soup for $7.  Lunch doesn't get much more affordable than that.  Because I am a freak I always get three avocado rolls and they are always delicious.  Granted I'm not sure how you could make an avocado roll that wasn't good but I always enjoy my sushi.  My coworkers order a variety of other types of rolls and everyone always seems to enjoy theirs.  I also like their miso soup better than some other places.

One time I did order agedashi tofu and was not into it.  I found the batter was too doughy and it was pale, not browned.  I'll stick with my three avocado rolls.

They are a bit conservative with the soy sauce when they're packaging up the take out orders but after mentioning this a few times they gave us our OWN BOTTLE of soy sauce to keep at the store and said that we could bring it back to be refilled when it was empty.  Awwww!

I have eaten at about every single sushi place on the drive and in my opinion the food here is the best. It is well priced, always fresh, they have never gotten my order wrong and never forgotten my miso soup when I order take-away! It is Chinese run and delicious!

Hate to write a bad review on any place, but I was super grossed out by this joint.

We were sent to a table that was set but dirty - like globs of someone else's teriyaki dirty - and that obviously happens in a lot of places and I wouldn't mind if it had been the only issue.  I looked over to see flecks of old food on other set tables and saucy streaks on benches, flies were circling around under our table for some reason, and still I wouldn't have minded. The food was actually very good and reasonably priced, so I was still thinking about making it my new Drive sushi joint (I'm down for cheap and cheerful!).  We asked for the bill and the waitress seemed like she would maybe go get it, but never returned.  We asked another staff member minutes later (maybe she just forgot, nbd) and he seemed like someone would maybe get us a bill sometime, but still nothing.  I'm pretty sure it's the kind of place where you pay at the front, which is cool, but we were under the impression we were actually supposed to wait for a bill for a good 20 minutes. Honestly, that's still not a huge deal when it comes to a cute sushi place, and all would have been forgotten if not for...

My great horror, and the reason for writing a bad review, was when I was paying at the till I looked over briefly behind the sushi bar and saw that one of the sushi chefs was pushing a beautiful piece of raw tuna onto some rice with his finger, which was covered in a loose and old-looking BAND-AID.  It seemed like the kind of finger you would cut with, say, a sushi knife.  Of course I got the visual of the bandaid having visited every piece of my sushi and that was it, I was queasy and uneasy.  Normally I am not squeamish, but I am quite certain that those are not Foodsafe actions.

Again, hate to write a bad review (the second star is because the food was actually quite tasty, until I was feelin' barfy), but those hilarious finger condoms exist for a reason and I will not go back to this place unless they figure out how to use them.
