Review from Ryan N.
Full disclosure, I know the owners of this place, but only through being a regular at the coffee shop.
This is a great neighbourhood coffee place, in one of the best neighbourhoods in Victoria. What's not to like? Free wifi, laid back atmosphere, and gourmet soups of the day from Pagliacci's! -

I like the location and the art on the walls. The place has a nice vibe and the staff are friendly. They carry pastries from Patisserie Daniel and those are always delicious. The Espresso was a nice, just a tiny bit bitter.
My friend Nicole doesn't like the name though, it's kind of like naming your child Wynter, or Kandi. -

Cool location. Loads of potential, but somehow lacking. The coffee is good, but the space isn't very...welcoming. The food behind the glass could be displayed in a more appealing manner. I ordered a croissant sandwich for my daughter - a very spicy, kind of expensive sandwich. It was obvious I was ordering the sandwich for a kid and I would have appreciated a heads-up re the hot, hot, heat. I like spicy food and even I was experiencing a bit of a mouth burn. I scraped most of the spicy sauce off but I still had to listen to her whine for the remainder of our visit.
We also had our 14-month old with us and we were pleased that they had a highchair. They have a chalkboard and a couple of small chairs in the corner for kids, but there's no toys - so not so great for really little kids. Toddlers and up might enjoy a good scribble though.
Our iced coffee was really good. So, I dunno. Maybe just not a great place to go with kids...or maybe it's a 'vibe' thing or maybe the mood we were in. There were only 2 other people in the place (It was a Friday afternoon) and they seemed to be enjoying themselves well enough. My husband has been a few times and he says he's never felt inclined to stay - he orders his coffee to go. And so it goes. I'll probably return to Koffi, but I'll likely enjoy my cuppa out of a paper cup in the chaos of my own home.
