The company that I work for bought property, and needed a real estate lawyer/notary. Kitty Lam and people in her office were helpful throughout the whole process. They didn't get impatient when we had to call back a few times to confirm things.
What I liked best was that the agreement between the notary and us was written in a friendly tone, not cold lawyer-speak. Everything went smoothly.Listed in: FTR (or Second or Third), Office Move

Boy, I never knew finding a reputable notary that won't rip you off was one of the most time-consuming things I would ever do.
I'm in the process of applying for a work visa for another country, and needed to get some medical documents notarized. But not only that... after getting those documents notarized, I had to get those notaries notarized by an office in Victoria (you still with me?). It was a complicated, multi-step process, and I assumed one of the many notaries in Vancouver would be able to help me out.
I called 15-20 notaries in the area, and I must say, I wasn't impressed. I won't name specific firms here, but many of the notaries I talked to had no idea what I was talking about. Think about that... a public notary who has no idea how to handle... a notary! Then, those who did know about the process offered me conflicting advice, then tried to charge me upwards of $400 to file the forms. Uh... no thanks.
Having lost all faith in the world of notaries, I finally I found Kitty Lam Notary Corporation, conveniently located in the heart of downtown on Robson and Burrard. Ms. Kitty Lam, who has a small yet welcoming office in the Burrard Building's 12th floor, was very friendly and talked me through the process in a very simple, to-the-point matter (despite the fact I made a very last-minute appointment). She had me in and out of the office in less than 20 minutes, and charged me a fraction of what the other firms quoted. Kitty Lam gets a solid 4/5 stars... I'll withhold the last star because, well, it's never fun to deal with lawyers.
One note, though, she took cash only, but there is an ATM located in the main lobby.
