Convenient location, lots of parking (for those that park) - but honestly what makes it the best is their patio area which makes it really easy to tie up my dog while i go in to get a coffee.. some places like the starbucks down the street, you have to tie him to a telephone pole, and then every single person walks by wants to pet him, play with him, etc.. and because he is the cutest dog ever - it just gets him super hyper, and people think "why would you tie up a dog out here to a telephone pole.. awww poor doggy", -- like i cant get a cup of coffee without having someone critize tying a dog up to a telephone pole? (he actually likes it btw :)) lol -- So kits coffee does have a great tie up area aside from the entrance, and I can see him while i wait for my coffee and listen to the bad music in there...
Coffee is ok.. honestly there is better in the area.. the lady at the register didnt really speak english, that was kinda odd. Anyway - i go there for their dog tie up accessability! -

Clean, beautiful and empty on a Wednesday afternoon. The staff is very helpful. But they play soft rock, and that alone will bump this review down two stars since I couldn't even stand being there with such outdated music pumping in my ears. And yes, I did try headphones. Didn't work.

If the gooey cinnamon buns are the big attraction here, you're better off heading to Grounds for Coffee on Alma for the more authentic experience. Otherwise, Kits Coffee is nothing more than an okay spot to sip a brew.
I generally find the store quite cold. On my last visit we hopped across the street for the smoothies they were advertising with a huge window poster. The one we wanted (pear apricot, maybe?) wasn't available, so we ordered strawberry instead. Okay, but nothing impressive. Kits Coffee is not on my must visit list. -

Doesn't Recycle! Who doesn't recycle in this day and age!?! I won't be supporting this business.

The coffee here is decent, and the staff okay. It's better than Starbucks but not the best, either.

Kits Coffee Co on West 4th is a big, bright coffee shop in the heart of Kitsilano. More importantly, it is home to some of the best cinnamon buns in the entire city. Grounds for Coffee delivers them warm and gooey each morning and along with a fresh cup of joe, this can be a very dangerous little addiction.
Located at the corner of 4th and Yew, Kits Coffee has more to offer than just cinnamon buns. It sits on a prime location with ample parking, loads of tables and chairs, and a large west facing patio. There is free wifi and there is always a big stack of local and national newspapers on hand. A good selection of pastries and wraps are available, although most are overpriced and pretty bland. If you want anything heated, be prepared to wait. I'm not sure what sort of ancient device they use to warm up their wraps or sandwiches, but it certainly takes a while.
Though there is nothing especially cozy about Kits Coffee, the floor to ceiling windows provide some of the best people watching in the city, and it's a great spot to settle in for an hour or so. Count the number of lululemon clad, Starbucks carrying, dog walking couples that pass in the amount of time it takes to devour a cinnamon bun. I often make it into the double digits. -

Kits Coffee is my go to coffee shop when I'm in need of a jolt, but only because it's close to my house and almost always open (I believe it's open from 7am to 8pm daily). The coffee is mediocre, and it's very hard to find an outlet to plug in my laptop. However, the place is huge so you're almost always guaranteed to find seating, even on weekends.

Now granted, I came here on a Sunday and it was a veritable zoo but really, what coffee place isn't jumping on a weekend afternoon in Vancouver? The staff proved to be efficient as the line went down significantly, but not fast enough to let me have a lingering glance at the cooler section. Kits Coffee sells pastries, including an infamous cinnamon bun, breakfast wraps, chocolate croissants (these must be popular, there were none left!) and a number of other tasty treats, save the coffee. The space is quite large and is nearly doubled with the addition of the outdoor patio, where you can sip a hot or cool beverage (with or without coffee), plug into free wi-fi (with purchase, obviously!) or just watch the array of weekenders wander about Kitsilano. My medium iced soy latte ran me about 4.50, the norm for most coffee joints in these parts. Oh and it was very tasty!

The best thing about Kits Coffee is that they sell those "fresh, gooey cinnamon buns" by Grounds for Coffee. Those things are amazing! Kits Coffee also serves up your standard coffee and espresso drinks. They have some decent samosas if you want something savoury. You can plug into free wifi at Kits Coffee but you have to buy something every thirty minutes or so. On a sunny day, the patio is jam packed with people since this is one of the few places in the area that has a large outdoor seating space.

ok coffee, terrible service. the former not being good enough to counter the latter. i live in the 'hood so i've given the staff at kcc ample opportunity to appease me. it hasn't worked yet. and now i don't think i'll be going back - way too many other coffee joints on 4th.

i come for the cinnamon buns, i don't stay for the coffee. in a neighborhood like kits it seems odd that a place with so much storefront that has been there so long can't make a decent cup of coffee. what's the problem?

Kits Coffee Co. is a great local spot with ample room for sitting by the window and reading the paper or working on your novel. It's an airy café with a spacious parking lot and a few tables outside where you can enjoy your chai latte and look out at the mountains. Although I don't like cinnamon buns, myself, this is what Kits Coffee Co. is famous for, so I can't tell you what they taste like, but I can tell you that everyone else talks about them glowingly, so if that's what you're after, you'll be happy to find this one of a kind hangout.

The service was horrible. I haven't been in there in at least two years but I still don't want to go back. Staff tend to be grumpy, less than civil (I usually get on well with cafe barristas and usually everyone else, in case yer wonderin') but the owner was the rancid icing on the cake. For six months I had been bringing one of my clients into this establishment. This individual (I will not reveal anything about his situation nor the nature of my professional association with her in order to respect his privacy) had rather poor grooming but was harmless, affable and inoffensive. Anyway, we had been coming in often and long enough to make ourselves a familiar presence. On our last visit, just as we were about to leave, I went to use the washroom. When I came out, the owner confronted me and told me that the washroom is for paying customers only. I said I had just been sitting at my table for the past 30 minutes drinking the orange juice I had purchased there along with my client who was also drinking a beverage bought on the premises. Even though he had already seen us there he refused to believe me. I tried to show him my receipt. He refused to look at it. I asked the barrista who had served us if he could confirm that we were customers. The little whimp caved and refused to say anything. So, I told the owner that this would be the last time I would ever set foot in his establishment. I am quite certain that he had staged this confrontation in order to get me to stop bringing my client into his precious little coffee shop since she probably didn't look nice and well-groomed enough for his lovely clientele (the owner was actually rather scary to behold himself). Anyway there are lots of worthier establishments in the 'hood.
