I hate kites. I haven't had one since I was a kid. I could never get them to stay in the air. They would just nosedive to the ground real fast and break. I would get really mad and I haven't touched them since.
Needless to say, it is the "Other Delights" that I go there for. My primary interest is the model cars. Kites & Other Delights has the biggest selection of models of any other store in the city. Their prices are tastefully in line with the other hobby shops too. I was worried that since they have more of a varied selection that they would charge more. There's a jumbo selection of Revell cars, trucks, planes, and ships. Nothing super-rare, so if you're looking for that '73 Dodge Charger model (like I was), you're better off checking on eBay.
This store has an abundance of brain-teasing puzzles and games and Rubik's Cube type things. They also sell a lot of scholastic material marketed to pre-kindergarten-age children so you can unleash your child's inner genius while they're still young.
I stayed clear of the kite section. -

I love toy stores! And this place is like a toy store for adults!
First of all - kites are so much fun! I think they are a neglected hobby. I love flying kites on a breezy summer day. It's a great activity to do with someone you love, and you can get your kite here!
As for the "Other Delights", they are also a lot of fun. This location has a very substantial hobby section. They have models and trains galore! I find that models are great gifts for young boys because they encourage discipline, attention to detail and precision. They also give young guys a sense of accomplishment. They are a great gift (Christmas i coming up *hint hint*).
All the different games and toys are a lot of fun to browse through. I love brain games. If you're looking for something unique and fun, you might want to check out Kites & Other Delights! -

This is a great place for hobbyists. This store will delight whoever walks in, whether the person is 5 or 40 years old. Kites and Other Delights is stocked with an array of car, train and plane models, toys and other collectibles, puzzles and of course, kites. Kites are the real stars of this store. There is a selection of colourful kites of different shapes and sizes, and at all price points. Some cost way over $100. I never flew a kite before, but after seeing this store's wonderful selection, I think I might let my inner child kick in, and fly one.

There was absolutely no one else in the store when we headed here, other than the sales staff. The store is slightly larger than the one at West Edmonton Mall, with a more extensive hobby selection (models and trains and such). I bought a boomerang and as always had a great time looking at all the toys and games.
