Review from Erin D.
Kismet for me is the Purr of my thirties. I have accepted that a certain style of clothing just doesn't work on me anymore and although I never exclusively shopped at Purr, I got a lot of ideas there and certainly felt inspired while shopping there. Kismet has a nice selection of good quality clothing and what I like most about it is I feel like there isn't too much of everything, making choosing a lot easier. I have strategies for shopping in giant clothing megastores which I didn't need to employ here, making this a nicer shopping experience. The lines they carry are nice, I can't name any of them at this time but there are lot's of beautiful coats, sweaters etc...
Their sales are alright too, a little on the pricey side for sale items and not the greatest deals, I also don't like that sale items are final sale. When I have $400.00 worth of clothing in my hands and don't have the option of changing my mind I am a little uncomfortable, sale price or not. That kind of inflexibility in retail these days isn't a selling point. I also felt ignored in the store the first half and hour I was there, but when I was paid attention to the woman who works there was very kind and gracious.
I would definitely recommend Kismet if you are looking for something unique and special. Hope you enjoy!

This store always has the cutest dresses, which is what always brings me in the door. The clothes are really good quality and last a long time.
I also find most of the pieces are a fun or funky take on classics. So even though they are different, they are not "fad/trend" items that you can only wear for 1 season.
The staff here is also very helpful and knowledgeable. -

I really like Kismet, even though I can tell that I'm a little younger than their target audience. But that doesn't cover the fact that Kismet has some very quality and very quirky clothing and accessories.
This is the kind of place your stylish, arty, fashionable aunt would shop. The one who looks a little younger than she really is, who holds art exhibitions and skews a little eastern on the house decor. So they have tons of cool stuff, cut for more mature bodies and that veers to conservative with higher necklines and long sleeves. They've also got quite the collection of higher-end jeans.
Anyways, as with all places like this, there is always something to find for us younger gals. Some of their pieces are ageless, timeless and always gorgeous. Their prices do run in the moderate to high range, but some of this stuff will last you for years! -

Kismet is a super cute little shop right in the heart of Kensington.
I hadn't realized it, but I've been walking past this place for years. Yesterday, I finally decided to duck in.
What really caught my attention about Kismet were the cute little dresses in the display window. Very very nice! Plus with New Year's Eve around the corner, a girl's gotta get a headstart on the glam wear shopping!
I really liked what I saw inside, but not all of it was necessarily my style. Nonetheless, this place has a lot of cool stuff.
I didn't end up leaving with any bags in hand, but I'm happy to report that I've officially been deflowered by Kismet now :)
If you're in the area, stop on by. Kismet is definitely worthy of your visit. -

Kismet is a fashion boutique right on 10 Avenue in Kensington.
Not really my style of clothing but might appeal to my Auntie, or some other friends I know. There is a large selection of women's clothing, it is obvious this is good quality clothing but I warn you the prices also reflect this.
The clothing has that ethnic application to it, that of course makes it look unique but for me just ages it to be something like I said my Aunt would love.
What I was impressed about here however is the jewellery, really nice, unique pieces that are well forged and very attractive. The rings for me are very special, some nice polished silver with interesting stones, there is also a very nice show board on the cashiers desk boasting necklaces with pendants made out of colour glass. Very nice.
All in all a store that would attract to an older crowd but nonetheless appealing. -

On my way from work to a massage appointment on my bicycle I figured I'd have a thorough mooch through Kismet. The salepeople practically ignored me. Found a super little grey leather jacket for $545 and many other soft cottony items that are my style. When several other groups of ladies came in, they were greeted with "It's customer appreciation night. Would you like a glass of wine? Everything is 20% off tonight except jackets & coats which are 50% off." Eventually I was asked if I'd like a glass of wine which I politely refused. I can only think that the sales people were not attentive because I am only 5 feet tall, 57 years old with grey hair in cycling gear! Big mistake! Huge.
