With so many groceries stores in my area, Kin's is still my go to place to get my fruits and veggies from. Their prices are fair and they really take care of their produce. I love their little tasters around the store and the staff are always friendly and helpful.

I walk by here on the way home from work everyday, so coming in here is convenient for me.

I stopped shopping here when I had a desperate craving for pineapple and stopping to find out that they were charging literally 10 dollars for them and they were all furry (ya mold).

I told the staff and he just left them there, im assuming it was seeing as the mold was on the bottom by the root and a lot of people may not look hard enough before buying. Hopefully nobody else bought those.

    lesson: look under your pineapples.

Do you love cheap veggies? I sure do! I bought two big packs of asparagus for $4, at Safeway in City Square mall (where both stores are located) I can get one pathetic looking bunch of asparagus for usually $5 or more.

Kin's is great for grabbing fresh local veggies at a cheap rate. The only reason I don't buy my veggies from them more often is because they close around 6pm-ish most days, so I usually have to go to Safeway. Kin's has all the basic veggies you'll need to whip up dinner, but they are missing some staples like brown mushrooms, they do have a jar of dried mushies though if you like that kinda stuff. They also usually have sales on things like strawberries, or cherries when they are in season. All hail the veggies of Kin's!

Whenever I have to leave Kits for errands by car, I end up at Kin's to get my vegetable and fruit buying fix!  It's free to park here if you buy at least $5.

Some of the deals of the day here are amazing, last week a bunch of celery was $1 and all the winter squashes were $0.33/lb.  I find that some other veggies here are a little pricey but overall I love the shopping experience here - everything seems fresh, some local things, and try as I might, I can never spend more than $20 here.

    I heart Kin's :)

If you do your grocery shopping at City Square Mall, you can save a lot on your produce by leaving Safeway and jetting into Kin's. They have a much bigger selection of produce and it's consistently cheaper than at the grocery store.

The check-out ladies are generally friendly and even give you some tips. When I bought a strange looking piece of fruit purely out of curiosity, she told me to wait until it was really soft before I ate it or it would taste really bad. I appreciate tips like that.

There's also a fridge at the back where you can buy half a melon and fresh herbs. The half-melon thing is great for single people who love melon and know it's going to go bad in the fridge before the whole thing is gone!

They haven't jumped on the organic train, so if you only do the organic/local thing you will want to shop elsewhere. There are occasionally products marked 'organic' and there is a fair amount of BC produce. But there are also a lot of imports. I just noticed that they started selling reusable bags at the till, so at least they're doing a bit of the green thing.
