Every neighbourhood needs a local chippy - and King's Table serves the beaches well. "King Louis", the owner and chef was once a restaurateur in Switzerland and now brings his own flare to fish and chips. While the specials are always fantastic (think blackened Red Snapper with a side of scallops) and 'Schnitzel Sundays' can't be ignored, I just can't resist getting good old fashioned Halibut and Chips. And believe me, I've eaten a lot of fish and chips in my day, these are really good.
Like most fish and chip shops these days, they offer a variety of fish to fry. Halibut, haddock, cod and salmon are the usual. And better yet, for the health conscious, you don't have to have deep fried; they'll grill it for you. You can also sub in a salad (which is full of fresh vegetables) for chips if you're wimping out - but don't forget, if you REALLY need a couple chips, they'll give you a few on the side along with your salad.
The ambiance is a bit strange and the music is always a bit off - but the owners friendliness and excellent memory for details of your life (it's shocking, really) makes up for it ten fold. If the weather is nice enough besure to check out the back patio, it's a wonderful treat. The close proximity to the Fox Cinema makes it a great pre or post movie eat. -

Had Lunch with my Sis and her Boyfriend ... Hate to write such a bad review BUT ... Warning :Service was Horrible( the woman who works there was very rude ... in fact we watched in horror as she freaked out on a family because she didn't get the order right and although they were very nice about it she went ape ... felt so bad for them since they had young children with them) ... the food was sooo much worse if thats saying anything ... VERY Greasy ... I'm half British so growing up with fish and chips is inbreed-ed in me ... and this place is horrible ... Sorry just was and that was my second time going there to give it one last chance ... btw: had to wait 30 hr before we got the check ... Everyone didn't like their dishes 1star :(

I hate fish. Yeah, yeah, I know... who goes to a place like this when you hate fish? Well I do because I learned that they have deep fried mushrooms which have become practically extinct in our society (no doubt because some few fools didn't realize that deep fried mushrooms are cooked in a deep fryer (hence the name Genius) and burned their mouths and quickly called a lawyer and now every restaurant is scared to offer them... but I digress. I went here knowing I'd have to order fish because, as a man of 30+ years, ordering the only other serious alternative (chicken fingers off of the 'kids menu' section of the real menu would be lame. So predictably started with the mushrooms which were great, although every bit what you expect and came with a good dip. I also ordered the haddock and found it to be very good. I'm very picky about fish and you'd think that for someone who isn't into fish that people who DO like fish wouldn't really appreciate the same place that I would but for all involved, who all ordered something different, we were all quite pleased. The service gripes I think stem from misunderstanding of the owners' culture or background. I was a little concerned about the woman's stern approach but it's a hectic place, especially on Fridays, but give her a little time and both husband and wife are very personable and entertaining as hell. I look forward to going back many times.
