Review from Mike B.
Back when I lived across the street from the courtyard of Kings Palace on Quinpool Road, it was a regular destination for my mom when she came to visit. Before Kings, I didn't have much exposure to chinese food and didn't particularly care for it. Over time, I tried some of the more basic things and that provided me a stepping stone that allows chinese restaurants to be a regular thing.
Kings isn't the best chinese restaurant in the city. It's pretty standard, though that makes it a reliable choice for visitors, and its central location makes it easy to find as well. The inside is fairly large but I've never seen more than 3 or 4 tables in use while there, but to be fair, I've usually gone during non-peak hours such as as a late dinner on a Tuesday night for example.
The hours are also pretty open as well, considering they're open pretty late on most nights so when stuck for some take-out, Kings is a pretty good choice, even if there aren't any other choices.Listed in: Halifax in May

I have had Szechuan Hot pot and #12 menu item here before (Chicken Almond Ding, Egg roll, rice and Pork Rib)
Both times, I have gone away feeling satisfied. The portions are big! So prepared to be hungry or take away leftovers.
The staff is friendly and responsive, although I have gone twice by myself.
The inside is prettier than the exterior, which looks something like a chinese mafia hideout.

Review from Laura P.
Kings Palace provides the typical greasy chinese food fix. Every city's got to have one, and this Quinpool restaurant is open until the wee morning hours for those in need.
Everything from fried rice, egg rolls, chicken balls, chop suey, almond ding, chow mein to chicken & beef dishes and selective Canadian dishes are here for the willing. And while I'm not much of a fan, (my high school job as a waitress alloted for one to many chicken chow meins.) I foresee this as being a regular chow down for some.
The restaurant's interior has a retro-90s, chain restaurant sort of vibe. Its dimly lit with carpets and aligned table seating. Though, something tells me its more about the food than the atmospheric tidings at Kings.
The menu offers a spectrum of Chinese comfort food, so if this is your fancy, Kings can surely satisfy a craving.
