Review from Anna M.
New York, NY
I've been to few Chinese food places around town but King Wah beats all of them.
Their Chow Mei Fun hot and spicy is to die for. As well as hot and sour soup. The bomb.
It's the only place for my money. -

I love their shrimp rolls -- they're huge (nearly twice the size of shrimp/egg rolls at other Chinese places), with plump, tasty shrimp throughout.
They also have awesome shrimp lo mein with slivers of bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, carrots, mushrooms (and of course plump, not-tiny shrimp). Yum.
The General Tso's chicken is also great - crispy and flavorful. -

Not the best Chinese I have had. Can't compare to other local places, because I don't live here.
Fast, cheap, friendly, fresh. Lo mein was not the greatest, but far far away from bad. The rice tasted dry to me :/ but I LIKE greasy Chinese take-out. :/
I'd come back. -

This place is the best in the neighborhood since they're a lot nicer and friendlier.
The hot and sour soup here is really good and delivery is really fast too. everything tastes fresh and good. Good portion size and they always give extra sauce when i ask -

They're good but not as good as another Chinese food place I love... but they are fairly close to me and the closest to good Chinese food in the area. The other places are pretty standard when it come to Chinese food but King Wah is a little bit better than the others so I'm giving them 4 stars.
The delivery guy is lazy though...he didn't even want to enter my building!! He was also obnoxious, didn't even say hello or anything, he was just talking away on his cell phone. I never order delivery from this place, I just go and pick up the food myself...it is for this reason I give them 3 stars. -

Best Chinese food in the area for sure. Food is never too greasy and their sauces are never too gooey and starchy like, oh say, everywhere else. Their Pork Fried rice actually has a decent flavor, their vegetables are consistently fresh, their meat is never chewy or gristly and the delivery is fairly prompt.
Expect to pay a buck or two more for your food, but definitely worth it. Also, if you live in a walk up, expect the delivery guy to call you and just shout "DELIVERY!" into the phone when you answer. -

King Wah has a sign out front saying that they were voted one of the 100 best Chinese food restaraunts in the country. I think that this sign tends to fool a lot of people into thinking that the food is great. I highly doubt that this is true, though - this was our go-to Chinese joint since moving to the area, but I was never truly happy with anything I got here. The chicken is always undercooked, as is the broccoli, and the beef smells funny. When I just get veggies, they come drenched in some weird sweet sauce that just wasn't good. Their dumplings are okay. Maybe I'm just not too big on Chinese food - when I feel like Chinese now, I just order off the Chinese menu at e Chiban because they use real chicken breast and it's always properly cooked. However, this food isn't terrible for Ridgewood standards. If you enjoy Chinese, you would probably have a satisfactory meal here.

Yelp subtly suggested that I should review this place. So I did.
Only eaten inside this place once. All the other times it's been take-out. Basically the best Chinese take-away in Ridgewood. The folks who run this place are pretty nice, never had a problem with them.Listed in: R For Ridgewood...

I really wanted this place to be good. I pass by it every day and now I decided to order from it finally. A slow Sunday afternoon calls for great Chinese food. I cheated on my regular take-out spot.. but I shouldn't have.
Delivery (by car?!?!) took 1 hour and 10 minutes. I live 5 blocks away :)
As I got back inside and opened the bag, I was disappointed to find that poor tray arrangement had led into the bottom tray (which was one of the "chef's specials) had been punctured and all the sauce had leaked out, over everything else. IT WAS A MESS!
One good thing that should be noted here is that portions are very large; however that is downplayed by the taste which does not offer anything exciting and actually does leave questions to be asked... the worse fried rice I've tasted :( . ..
Even the simplest dish - veggies & noodles was very questionable.. the noodles were old and very saggy and the smell was a bit repulsive. The veggies had evidence attempt to steam, but a failed one none the less.
So to round it up:
- Slow delivery
- Leaky bag
- Bad cooking
and to be fair I have to admit that
- Portions are large
Probably won't give them another chance anytime soon. -

Fresh Meadows, NY
I've been going here for years, and King Wah's consistency never fails to please me. Great tasting and non greasy food, with a side of friendly customer service makes for quite the bang for my bucks. This is most definitely the best take-out place in the neighborhood.

Ridgewood, NY
This is the best Chinese-American place I have been to in many years. They use fresh ingredients and know how to cook. Unlike all the other Chinese restaurants in Queens, I have returned to eat here. That says a lot, believe me.

They have such YUMMY shrimp wonton soup. I'm pretty picky about Chinese food places, and this is one of the few places I eat when I'm in the area.

One of the better neighborhood Chinese restaurants I've been to in NYC. The food is not greasy, the delivery is quick, and the prices reasonable.

Review from Wally C.
New York, NY
It's standard greasy takeout Chinese food, with emphasis on greasy. The prices here are ridiculous. It's cheaper in Manhattan! What the heck? I wouldn't mind if the food warranted a higher asking price (ie it was really good), but I don't think this applies here. What sucks the most about this is that on this street, near me, there's only three Chinese takeout places. This one is the most reasonable regarding customer service. You'll get your food and it won't take too long. Maybe that's why they charge more, because they know this...Evil.

Been eating here since they opened in 99 and it's Ben great. By far the best Chinese restaurant in the area hands down. They have the best pork fried rice and wonton soup. Only thing i would have to say is bad are the delivery times and some of the drivers have an attitude for no reason.

Review from Sydney K.
Great prices! We ordered the "Family Meal A", which included a pint of fried rice, a pint of beef and broccoli, a pint of lo mein, and a pint of wonton soup for $12.99! I think that's a pretty amazing deal! The food was typical delivery Chinese, but it was tasty and the wonton soup was surprisingly good. The beef and broccoli was also very flavorful. We ordered the sweet and sour chicken one time, too, but I wouldn't recommend it; it's more like chicken nuggets than anything else. I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for cheap, tasty take-out Chinese.

My #1 Chinese food take out, the best chinese food in town. They have a taste all their own. I like all their dishes, but I especially like the way they prepare Egg Foo Young.

Ridgewood, NY
This is the best Chinese restaurant I ever went to. I've only went to eat inside once and the service is great. The rest of the times I got delivery. The delivery man is very nice, he even bows down to say thank you!!!!!!! The price is pretty high but it is so worth it. They deserve to be in the top 100 Chinese restaurants ever.

Brooklyn, NY
the best take-out chinese restaurant i've ever been to. seriously! their prices are lower than average, and food is better quality than average. yummy vegetable dumplings (though they're a bit dough-y, so if you're looking for thinner ones, than opt for the seafood dumplings--they're actually really good too!), and lots of tofu dishes. there's enough space to eat-in comfortably, and quarter machines to get your fix of M&Ms and pistachios while you wait for your food.
