This is one awesome neighbourhood video store.
The deals - single movies are cheaper than any blockbusters or rogers and with their discounts it's even better. Currently they have 2-for-1 deals on rentals on Mondays and discounts on old releases increasing the more you rent (perfect for TV on DVD marathons).
The selection - any new release I've ever looked for has been there. As others have said, their foreign and docs sections are great (as good as the average blockbuster, if not better).
Bonus? It's not a chain store and they sell Ritter chocolate. Now that's delicious. -

One of the first things you do after moving into a neighbourhood is find where the local movie rental place is and get a membership. The second day after moving to King and Niagara, I walked across the street, credit card and ID in hand, to get a membership at what is now "King Hollywood Video" and what was then "Gone Hollywood Video". I've been renting there for nigh on six years and still find it to be delightfully independent, providing a list of titles that cover most of the bases. You can throw the odd stumper on a title that they've long since abandoned, but there is only so much space in the store.
It has been fun watching the store evolve, bringing on more and more different titles and categories as the neighbourhood market dictates. In my time, I've seen a section for "Documentaries" sprout up, and their "Foreign Film" section blossom beyond copies of "Das Boot", "La Femme Nikita", and "La Vita è bella".
Favourite part of the store is the back wall directly in front of the cash: Previously Viewed Movies. Again a space reclaiming move, multiple copies of fairly-recent-run films are available at truly reasonable prices. The longer you wait, the cheaper the deals get. Two, sometimes three DVDs for $20. They do the same sorts of deals for VHS (which is slowly on the way out) and their video game rentals (PS2, XBOX).
Come armed with your credit card and leave happy.Listed in: My Neighborhood, Born to Shop

I went into this video store specifically because it was a reclaimed
Blockbuster Video. There is something very pleasing about seeing that
while Blockbuster may be dominant it is not invincible and that the
little guy can win a few every now and then. Inside the store the
quality of selection was obviously much better than any Blockbuster with
a large foreign section and misc which had everything from UFC to world
series videos. The other selling point was that the store also had good
deals for DVDs and video games. You could buy 4 DVDs for $20 or two games
for the same price. Now these are previously viewed but that beats any
of the big boys several times over and if you are someone who likes
buying DVDs then this is a good place for you.
