I had to go because of all the nice things I heard. All in all, I found it pretty average. Let me explain.
The atmosphere was nice and cozy and the guy who served me was nice, oh and the service was super duper fast. Despite it being 7 pm on friday there was only a couple of other people there.
I had some of the rolls, they were pretty good. Nice and fresh. I got the regular old beef pho, it was pretty good too.
One thing that surprised and impressed me was that I saw the owner Kim talking to like 2 separate groups, I guess she was friends with them. That says a lot about the restaurant to me.
I wanted to try the coffee, maybe I will when I go back. I guess it was the things I chose, but they seemed a bit boring to me. Next time I'll have to be more adventurous. -

How could this little gem have been located in the same place since 1997 and I've never noticed it? I've literally driven past it hundreds of times and never even see the entrance. I guess that goes hand in hand with why I'm somehow first to review.
This place seems pretty obviously family run and you're treated as such when you walk in. We got an immediate and warm greeting and we were offered any table we wanted.
We got the deep fried rolls, prawn and pork papaya salad, a spicy broth Vietnamese sausage pho and lunch combo #1. The rolls were better than anyone else's in town, the papaya salad was fresh and just fantastic, the pho was very nice and clean flavoured, and lunch combo#1 came out looking just great. The tiger prawn sugar cane was infinitely better than any of the other places I've tried it and the brochettes seemed to be pretty good quality. The peanut sauce was delicious as well (I LOVE a good peanut sauce).
The service throughout was very warm and personable (which stands in contrast to many of the other Vietnamese restaurants around the area). Every item was fresh and well prepared and the pricing was totally reasonable.
I absolutely recommend trying Kim's, they've been in business for a long time and there's more than a few good reasons for that.
