Every month or so, I get a batch of coupons for KFC in my mailbox. But the nearest one is a fair hike from my place, so I can usually resist the temptation. (A few years ago, I lived just down the block from one, and if the wind was from that direction, the temptation was maddening.) I have a friend who refers to the product as "Chicken Valvoline", but it's always been a guilty pleasure of mine.
Well, this month, the push is on for the new "wrapstar." It sounded good, so I decided to take the hike and give it a shot.
Oh, dear. The person at the counter (whose nametag said, "manager") was downright curt, the prices were well higher than I remembered them, and the much-vaunted wrapstar was essentially an extra large twister with salsa and corn chips inside. Not bad, by any stretch, but not mouth-watering, and definitely not worth a 24-block hike.
