Tamara, owner and hair stylist extraordinaire runs this funky salon. I love how friendly everyone is. You really feel like you're visiting a friend's house - fresh brewed coffee anyone?
Aveda products ensure well cared for hair and, since I typically screw up my bangs between visits, Tamara always encourages me to "just drop in for a snip".
And because Tamara is often booked up, there's Brian (recently back from Toronto) and several others who also do outstanding work. Not to mention the rooms in the back for aesthetics that I have yet to try....Christmas gift anyone? Hint, hint. -
Review from Laura P.
Key Lime Pie is a vibrant salon / spa on Quinpool that hardly goes unnoticed. Its color-splashed exterior and delicious title has made me curious, and so today seemed like the perfect day to clip inside for a visit.
The space has a cute 'n' quaint feel. Promptly greeted, the woman at the front desk engaged me in conversation, and me a run through all of the main services. As an Aveda Concept salon, Key Lime offers some luxe relaxation therapies and other treatments that would need to meet certain guidelines. The "Aveda Concept" is always a bit of a guarantee, in my books.
All services seem to be on par as far as prices go. They offer mini manicures for $20, and 10% off waxing for students and seniors. Cool. Walking around the front area, I noticed the shelved Aveda product was sparse. There was more empty space than product, but perhaps I caught them at a bad time.
Key Lime looks like a neat spot to try out. Its relaxed and friendly with some extravagant spa packages to indulge in that much needed "me time".
