Been on a greek tear recently, so just settled on the calamari, which was amazing both for its taste and tzatziki sauce: you can tell it's homemade.  Crisp. light batter, not too oily, highly recommended.

and the best part, lots of chopped red onions, so they took their time preparing this just for me ;)

Nice decor, and one of the few with its own full-blown bar.  quite spacious too, lots of sun light being a corner resto.

More upscale than we expected. We were a little self-conscious by being dressed very casually when most of the clientele was formally attired seniors.

The dining room was very nicely appointed with well- spaced wooden tables and the obligatory Greek restaurant "tons-o-plants". This particular evening also had live music courtesy of a guitarist/steel drum player who was much better than you would expect a guitarist/ steel drum player to be.

We were very hungry so we ordered 2 appetizers in addition to our mains. What were we thinking?  We were full before our dinners even arrived! It was well worth the bulging stomachs though, the spanakopita and the fresh, homemade whole wheat pitas with the tzatziki were scrumptious. The chicken souvlaki and the Arni Psito (roasted lamb shoulder) were both moist, perfectly seasoned and equally delicious. Our meals were accompanied by a fresh, crispy Greek salad loaded with feta, rice, roasted potatoes and steamed vegetables.

I believe the person that served us was the owner or manager and his service was good. Our only grievance about Kerkis was the extremely high noise level when the dining room was full. We will definitely be returning but wearing nicer clothes. A solid 4.5 stars.

I came here on a Thursday night, and it was very quiet.  Only a few other people dining out at the restaurant....so that made the service very fast and very personable.

I really enjoyed ALL the staff, they were very friendly, smiled, and generally seemed to enjoy their jobs.  They also checked on us frequently, which was quite nice.

The decor of this place is quite nice.  It was very clean, organized, and had a cute set-up.  I also give them a huge plus for having round tables.  LOVE round tables!  Helps to have all people involved in all conversations!

Anyways, I really enjoyed the food.  Very flavourful and pleasent.  Best greek food I've had since beeing to a greek restaurant in New West.

I would absolutely come back here!

    Surprising Dine Out Vancouver find.

Saw their $18 menu. Can almost never go wrong with Greek so checked it out. The decor is upscale Greek, staff is attentive and cheerful.

The humous wasn't the norm, but the Tirokafeteri (feta cheese w/ jalapeno spread) was wicked.

Greek places rarely have unique dishes, Kerkis is no different. However, the chicken souvlaki and roast lamb was a step above your typical Greek joint. Spices were better, meat was tender and juicy, unlike some places which overcook the meat. Heck the carrots tasted different. Different good.

Ekmek ranked up there, though Baklava was a little too sweet.

I could barely finish. Best $18 meal I've had in a while.

Came here as as group of 6 a couple weeks ago for dinner. Ordered the roast lamb & it was very good. A friend ordered the ribs with linguini & that was very good flavor as well. We also were able to use 2 coupons from the ent book. I would recommend this place for Greek food & service was good.

Best hummus I have ever had!
We sat on the patio and ordered the Hot Appetizer Platter and he had some beer.  There was plenty of food on the platter; it could easily have fed four people. Yeah for to-go boxes and dinner is served.  The waitress was super friendly and service was fairly quick.

I am a really big fan of Greek Calamari and I wasn't disappointed with this place.

The atmosphere is pretty good. It is decorated tastefully and doesn't feel cluttered like some Greek restaurants can. I appreciate that quite a bit. The service is good. They don't go over the top to take care of their guests but I can live with that. They were pleasant and attentive if you could get a servers attention.

The food is great. Expounding upon (somehow this is a literary comment? haha) my previous comments about the Calamari, it is done right and very easy to eat. Fantastic.

Overall, I don't know if I would go out of my way to come here again but the experience was good and I appreciate the memory.

I've been here a few times, and have never been disappointed.

Very nice atmosphere. When we were there last on a Saturday there was live music, which was pleasant but not obtrusive. I ordered lamb, which was very tender, my friend ordered dolmathes, which she liked.

A bit pricier than some other greek restaurants, but the pleasant atmosphere and nice neighbourhood make it worth a visit.

The service was friendly but slow. The waitress was serving 5-6 tables on her own.

The greek salad was enjoyable and the lamb was so tender and scrumptious. The calamari was a bit disappointing - a bit soggy and not crunchy enough, and the tzatziki sauce was a bit bland. Ambiance was romantic and polished. Overall, a mediocre experience.

The food here is good greek for the neighbourhood with the ambiance adding to the enjoyment.

It's not exceptional, but it certainly isn't decorated as tacky as some other places normally are.

The roast lamb tends to be a favourite amongst most people I know who go here, however myself being a non-lamb eating person I'm a little biased against it.

The grilled calamari on the other hand is done quite perfectly without it being overcooked. Service is nice and attentive without being invasive.

Kerkis is by far one of the better Greek restaurants in Kits.  I'd consider saying the best, but I could get shot for saying something like that...its definitely in the top two.
The menu here is the same you'll find at pretty much any other Greek place, what separates Kerkis is the consistency and quality.
I don't know if its because unlike every other Greek place, this restaurant hasn't been around for 30+ years, but they seem genuinely concerned with satisfying their customers' palates and not just their own cash registers.
Stick to the classic fare and you will be very satisfied.   They have some sharing platters which are very nice as well.  A round of Mythos (Greek beer) and you will have the perfect meal.
You won't find better lamb in Vancouver.

Ok, now I'm for sure getting shot.

The size of the moussaka was very SMALL!!!! It's about 1/4 the size compared to other Greek restaurants!!! For 18.99, I would expect something decently sized but after eating the moussaka dish I was full at all. Then I realized that all of their portions size for all of their dishes are SMALL!!!! You should see the extremely small salads they serve with the meals - SOMEBODY BRING A MICROSCOPE!  Also, the moussaka was bland. I swear, it's not much different from frozen moussaka at Safeway. The waiter is weird too and waiters should know that it's not appropriate to touch someone's clothing with their hands.

Kerkis Greek Taverna is the worst and the most overrated Greek restaurant in Vancouver. There are much better Greek restaurants in Vancouver, Burnaby (Cristos Greek Taverna), and New West. I would personally recommend Taverna Greka in New Westminster. Taverna Greka is cheaper, much larger portions, more extras, more flavourful dishes, and an awesome view,  By the way, eat before you go to this restaurant if you must because their portions are very SMALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you come here hungry, expect to spend a lot because a small 100lb lady I know wasn't even full when she at a main course of chicken souvlakia with an extra order of calamari.

WARNING: Kerkis Greek Taverna charges extra for extra dips, extra pita breads, and their portions are so tiny. It's ridiculous!!! However, tap water is free.

Kerkis Greek Taverna does not serve hearty authentic Greek food but just bland Food Court quality at 3-4 times the price.  I would avoid this place at a heartbeat!!! This restaurant is like a really really really bad joke.  I wouldn't waste my money on this restaurant.  So, my real rating is 1/2 star out of five.

If someone from Kerkis Greek Taverna is reading this... well,  please make your portions a lot larger because I hate to spend money to order pizza when I arrrive home after eating at your place.

Better Greek than I've had in a long time.  Got there around 9pm on a Friday and the place was still pretty busy.  The server (owner, I think) was ver attentive.  You must try the roast lamb.  Dolmathes was good too.  Great experience all around!  Even the house salad was good.

We went here for lunch. Had a great Greek salad and hummus. The dolmades were excellent. Were were very happy with our choices and the quality. Would definitely like to go back for dinner and try the lamb.
