Just an overnight on my way to the Discovery Islands, so this inn was perfectly located. A few hours north on Trans Canada Hwy to Nanaimo from Sidney's airport. Small town with a well-developed commercial area on the water. I wouldn't choose it as a destination.
I arrived around 6 pm and was referred to the Fox & Hounds pub just one block away, very convenient and comfortable. The house is quite decked out in furnishings and trinkets, typically Victorian. My room was a single on the first floor, small but easy to access with a separate private bath beside the kitchen. The single room was $90 CAD.
Three stars for no offer of help with my luggage from the street up two flights to the front porch and no early coffee or tea in the morning. In fact, I was not offered any coffee until my meal was served. The breakfast was made to order, two courses with juice and I had to ask for a second cup of coffee. The kitchen is separated from the dining room by a 'doggie door' and the hostess was not very available. No help taking luggage to the car the next morning either, so I would judge this accommodation as basic.
