Kelly's is a pretty laid-back irish-ish pub, just half a block from the Druid. Fortunately, Kelly's stays pubbish on the weekends, and so this is where you'll find me if I'm looking to go out for a drink close to home on Friday or Saturday.
The staff here is super friendly, and you don't have to worry about fitting in or standing in line or anything else you might find at some other Jasper ave bars on the weekends. Their prices are decent too.
I haven't tried most of their food, but I do regularly get the nachos with bbq chicken. It sound strange, but it works.
They also have a decent patio in the summer, and a big garage door so you can enjoy the fresh air even if you can't snag a spot outside.Listed in: Beer!

The service at Kelly's is usually good and the prices are reasonable. It is a very laid-back place that feels like a neighbourhood pub. All of the regulars are known to the staff and to one another. This makes it a very welcoming place.
Unfortunately, the food is generally sub-par. I hope that they'll overhaul the menu when they re-open in their new location (which has not been announced yet).
Despite its flaws, I will miss occasionally stopping in at Kelly's on my way home from work. -

This is another good Irish pub, it reminds me a lot of O'Byrnes. It is actually a very comfortable place and very welcoming. No one feels like they are above you here, they treat everyone the same every time.
The menu is the usual, they do have a great poutine though. I can't help but order it everytime I am here. The service is really good and they treat you like they are your friend's even if they do not know you. I have one friend that goes here a lot and they know him by name.
It is all about the people here. The crowd is great and everyone is here to enjoy themselves and it actually allows for you to enjoy yourself. I felt at home at Kelly's. -

I came here one day to check it out because I live near it, and it's kind of a dive. My boyfriend and I sat on the patio and we ordered a couple drinks and the nachos. The server was nice enough, but we didn't have a good experience. First of all, when the nachos came out they are those round yellow corn chips that are like $2 for a huge box, so I thought they could have had better quality chips, and the cheese wasn't really melted. Plus there were no jalepenos which it listed as one of the ingredients on the menu. When we asked the server about it she said they didn't have any at the moment, which would have been nice to know when we first placed our order. Plus, we had ordered beef on the nachos and it didn't come, so she brought it out after we had already finished half the nachos, and when it did come out it tasted really weird and we couldnt even eat it. So if you do end up going here, just stay away from the nachos.
We sat beside some people that we started chatting to and they said they are regulars there and they go all the time, which is great for the business but I dont think I would ever go back. But obviously people do so there has to be something decent enough about the place. -

This is what every Irish pub oughta be. Kelly's is friendly, unpretentious and full of good times in a neighbourhood where trendy restaurants, lounges and bars are taking over. No need to get gussied up here. Whether you show up in jogging pants and no make up or your Sunday best, you will be treated with the same courtesy by the friendly staff who know most people by name if they've come back more than once. The focus here is on the drink, not the food, to be sure - in the spirit of the Irish, of course! But if you've been celebrating life, liberty and libations since Happy Hour started, the beef dip, nachos and poutine are satisfying options to tide you over 'til closing time. A veritable time warp, this pub has an incredibly loyal following, many of who consider their patronage a full-time job. It's people waitresses like Deja and Christie, Karaoke DJ's like Dave and the other regulars who make the spirit of Kelly's more than the sum of its four walls and bountiful keg barrels.
