The waitress for my table was very entertaining and nice.
She remembered every single details we asked.
And I loved the steak a lot.
I had mine medium.
It was very juicy , tender and had the smoky flavor.(also seasoned very well)
God, I`m drooping...again
anyways it was glorious. -

I'm not a huge fan of chain restaurants, but for The Keg, I can make an exception.
After many years in business, they still know how to cook a succulent and flavorful piece of meat. The medium rare is always just right and I rarely ever have to send back a steak because it wasn't done right the first time. Always a great job on the ceasars or dirty martinis as well. -

**The Importance of Good Service**
I am not a Keg fan. If I had the choice, I would go anywhere else for my dinner. Maybe I am not into steaks so much. Maybe I am not into over-priced chain food. Whatever it is, it's not my favorite. On top of all that, our service was super slow and I noticed our server being chatty, friendly and more attentive to other people! But on more than one occasion my water glass ran low, she didn't smile much, and it seemed like she forgot about us.
Food highlights: The bread was no better than a safeway hamburger bun, except that you get it fresh at the Keg. I swear it used to be better than that--like a nice, dense sourdough? What the hell happened that they need to serve mediocre bread when their entree items are mostly around $30-$40?
We got a chicken and lobster/shrimp entree and it was really bland. There's a problem when the most exciting thing about the dish is the garlic mashed potatoes they served with it. The lobster salad they served was quite nice, but not $20 worth... :-/ Luckily we had a gift card, or else we would have felt really ripped off.
To end with, we two desserts to share--key lime pie (which I was really looking forward to) and passion fruit creme brulee. The creme brulee was nice but the key lime pie tasted kind of like it had indian spices in it like cardamom, which I am not a fan of. I couldn't finish it and when the server finally asked at the end how was it, I was about to answer with my standard "it was good.." and then thought, wait, no it's not good. And answered, "actually I really didn't like it.." And then she took off with out a word and came back with our bill.
On the bill we noticed that she took the dessert off of the bill entirely because I didn't like it. And that was really unexpected and nice of her. So we appreciated that. And apparently you can even put the tip on a gift card here (according to our server)! So we did that partially and left paying not a whole lot for our meal. Yes, we didn't like it anyway, but the service left us without a bad taste in our mouth and not too disappointed in the end. So what would have been a 1 star review, turned into a 3 star review.
Would I come back here? If I have to. Or, if I am not paying for it. I would probably stick to appies though.Listed in: Dining in Burnaby

Came here with my family (along with baby in tow) for my Graduation party.
My sister had reserved a large booth for all 7 of us; however, when we arrived, they had not booked a large enough table.
Slightly frustrated, we waited at the bar area with our "beeper" awaiting to be seated. I ordered the "Mango Time" slushy drink and it was fabulous! Tasted like real Mango, and not artificially flavored.
Once seated, the manager was very accommodating and allowed us to choose 3 complimentary appetizers for the table-mix up.
My sister ordered the salmon and loved it. She said the spicy chipotle mayo was great (and asked for more of it, too!)
My brother-in-law ordered the prime rib. They warned us that the last piece was slightly overcooked and they were almost all out and a new roast would be done in 45 minutes. Although slightly overdone (still pink though), it was very good.
The rest of us ordered steak and all of us were pleased. My steak was slightly more cooked than I had asked, but delicious none the less. My bf and I also ordered the bacon/mushroom port sauce on top and that is a good choice as well (although a little on the sweet side).
They were going to give us complimentary dessert as well, but we had brought out own, which they kindly stored in the freezer for us (ice cream cake!).
All in all, they were very accommodating with bringing us hot water for baby food and making sure all our needs were met.
I've been to this location a handful of times and have always left satisfied and happy with their service! -

Well my experience started off a little rocky but they made up for it! I had made reservations a week in advance and requested a seating area large enough for 7 including a toddler with a highchair. I had quite a long conversation with the lady about the situation and she assured me they would reserve the largest seating area and for me not to worry. When we arrived they had chosen a very small booth, not even big enough for 5 people let alone a child with a highchair. So they asked us to wait in the lounge until the larger area became available. So we lug all our baby stuff into this bar lounge area and wait. Testy child and lots of gear, I spilled a drink and broke a water bottle and spilled liquid all over the floor. A server almost fell. So now we're seated in our bigger larger area and it was perfect. The manager came to apologize and asked us to choose 3 appies to make up for our problems.
The food is amazing. I always get the salmon because they cook it just SO so right. Plus I'm a dip fanatic and the chipotle dip is just amazing. It's so fresh and light. Their mashed potatoes are to die for. The rest of my family always orders prime rib or steak and they never complain.
They did offer to give us complimentary dessert but we brought an ice cream cake that they stored for us in their freezer.
I have gone again and this time brought two toddlers! And again it was a great experience and they do have very large tables and high chairs perfect for bringing your children. It is a nice family atmosphere without being a family restaurant.
We have sat on the patio in the summer and it's a great patio. No view but it's got a glass cover and is nicely laid out. If I go alone with my husband I prefer to eat in the lounge. Much more romantic and quieter than the dining room. -

This used to be my "last choice" Keg but ever since the reno its my FIRST CHOICE!
the service is amazing. had a newbie waitress who was fun & friendly. she explained the hiring process there and it made me feel that she was indeed very super qualified to work there! crazy interviews and exams to write!
we went at about 9pm and didn't really expect them to have good cuts of prime rib left but they did! and it was perfect. their prices have gone up about $4-$5 recently though but still worth it.
My only complaint is that its SO noisy in here! It doesn't quite have the "family-feel" but the noise defintely got to me. I don't know if its because the ceilings are so high or the material its built from but sound just flies around and bounces everywhere. We were tucked in a corner but heard LOTS of conversation everywhere! -
Review from Aaron S.
I've been coming to this keg for years. Though I'd say 90% of the visits were in the old building which was awesomely retro. That said, this Keg is like all Kegs in that it's fantastic. I like the Keg. Always have. It's one of those rare (pun not intended.....or did I???.....) places that is consistent in all areas. In the 12 years I've lived here I've never had a bad experience at any of their locations. The food is excellent and generous. The wait staff are pleasant and knowledgeable. The drinks are spot on. They come from the same family as Gotham and Hy's so while they are lower price point they still hold the same standards of the upscale cousins.
This location like most gets busy on Friday nights and since they don't accept reservations it's gonna be a long wait at the bar. Most times it's not a problem and you are seated shortly upon arrival. I always get the prime rib and insist on it mooing when it arrives. It's tender and flavorful. I like to start with the escargot and really who am I kidding, I like the garlic butter more than the snails. Those are just something you are forced to have in order to enjoy that deliciousness they are cooked in. The free bread is always hot and plentiful and I try not to fill up on it but damn it's powers have a hold on me and make me eat more.
My only complaint? It's anyone who orders anything other than what they do best and complains. Sure your pasta dish wasn't good. It's the Keg! You don't go for sushi and get a hamburger do you? Oh you do eh? Well then................. -
Review from Barry M.
Don't go for dinner here on a Friday... too busy. You'll wait at least an hour, no reservations...
The food was good, but it was a little weird that they have a 'waiting room' to put people in before there is seating for the 'dining room'. They could and did serve food to that room. Why not just consider it part of the 'dining room' and seat people there too? -

This Keg has amazing customer service. Very attentive, and don't need to wait long for a table even without reservations (5-10 minutes max). Food is great also, and they have feature dishes every now and then. The manager and server staff made sure your steak is cooked to the way you like it. Yummy dessert menu (they are in big portion, make sure you make room for it) Great service, will definitely go back to this location!! Big parking lot and street parking available.

Parents meeting for the first time? Steakhouse it is...
We needed a place for our parents to meet, so my fiance and I decided to come here. I thought it might not be busy on a Saturday night (yeah right) because this one seems a bit out of the way than all the other Keg restaurants. It's an hour to an hour and fifteen minute wait... while waiting, one of the servers brought out some appies to tame the masses. It seems strange that they won't take reservations for large parties. Sure, two people, four people, whatever, but if you have a party of six or more (we had seven) where you have to pull two tables together, they should allow it. When our buzzy thing started buzzing, I almost jumped up and jigged. Woo hoo!
We got seated at a huge booth opposite the windows. I never noticed how high the ceilings are. Our server is really forthcoming with the information: he knows the menu really well, he tells us the special and makes suggestions. I am not swayed by the special... only my dad, who gets the special, the 20oz tbone steak. He brings us two bread baskets with after waiting the hour, it's gone really fast.
I have been getting the Prime Rib Classic since it was $19.95. Then it became $22.95, then $26.95 and now I think it's $27.95. The reason I am so loyal to it is because it comes with a caesar salad to start and it also comes with veggies and a baked potato. The caesar salad is okay. Nothing really that special (wait, then why do I get the classic instead of just prime rib?), but okay. I love how fatty the prime rib is. I feel so bad eating all the fat, but I do. I lap it up with the spicy horseradish. The meat is so tender and rare the way I like it. Although the server said the Prime Rib is normally cooked to a medium rare, he was able to get the rare part out to me. Ahhh... I love the meat still mooing.
So even after all that, I get dessert. Most times, I throw in the towel and I give up and don't get dessert because I am always told by my fiance that there is always ice cream in the freezer. But our parents each ordered one, so my fiance and I shared a creme brulee. Our table ordered two, but there was only one left... my soon-to-be father-in-law switched his ordered to the Billy Miner Pie. I've had it before. It's good. It's light... but back to the creme brulee. I love it. They made it good. The brulee topping was sort of thin, but I was able to crack it the way I like it because the creme part was nice and firm. I ate it. I scraped every last bit out of the container. Every last bit out of the scalloped edges of the container. They now have mini desserts. You can get three for like six bucks. My dad got a mini carrot cake. He said it was mostly icing. He said it like it was a bad thing. Oh dad. My aunt and mother shared a cheesecake. I got about half of it (half the brulee and half the cheesecake... I got a whole dessert). I love how creamy it is.
We had a great time. It's a really nice place to spend a special occasion. My parents took me here for my birthday last year. I love it here. It's really worth the wait. -

I like this place. The location is odd. Feels far from civilization, yet just right off the freeway. It's a trek to go to this Keg location even if you live in Burnaby. No reservations are accepted. You have to walk in and, if you think you don't need to wait in line, think again. This place oddly enough manages to draw a crowd. Maybe because we all think the same - that no one goes to this specific location.
The structure feels like a typical ski lodge. This is no Keg Yaletown. This is your Father's weekday steakhouse.
Being a chain restaurant, menu is the same.
Had the "Keg Caesar" which I've always appreciated a lot of dressing, but wifey finds too much.
For our main entree, we had my usual "Rib Steak" cooked medium and charred outside (Chicago-style per their menu).. For the price, it was tasty enough. More importantly, it was cooked perfectly per my order.
Also had the "Keg Sliders" from their bar menu. There were three mini prime rib burgers that came with their own topping - Swiss cheese, BBQ sauce and Bleu cheese sauce.
Finally, I can't leave any Keg restaurant without having their "Billy Miner Pie" (mocha ice cream sitting on a crust of chocolate and drizzled with hot fudge and caramel then topped with almonds.) It's too much and even if I manage to share an order deep inside I can finish it on my own. Did you hear that, wifey? I can finish one on my own! Ha ha ha!
When in the area, it's a nice place to go to. But then again, I'm not my father so off to Keg Yaletown I go. -

This place can get crazy packed on weekends. I feel very fortunate this week as I was able to come here twice in one week. Both of my visits were excellent! Rarely will I ever have a problem with the Keg - though this does not mean I have never.
After placing my order, the server brought over some sour dough bread. I LOOOVEEE their bread! The server will only give you regular butter, but if you're in for some tasty butter, be sure to ask for the three cheese butter. Mmm..yummy!
I don't recall eating anything on their menu that is not good. Just yesterday I had their prime rib and tiger shrimp dinner. I love their prime rib - super tender and super flavourful.
As for dessert - I must agree with Raymond O - their Billy Miner Pie is REALLY good. I've tried their other desserts as well, but I still look forward to eating the Billy Miner Pie instead of the others.
As for the drinks - if you're looking for a light, fruity alcoholic drink, I would definitely recommend their Sea breeze (and you should Keg size it!). Can't recall what actually goes into making the drink - but it's really good. What the heck, almost anything with alcohol can taste good! ;) -
Review from Aprille R.
I would've given this place 5 stars but I didn't appreciate how almost all of the female staff were wearing short dresses or low cut tops. It was so distracting.
Anyway! On with the food. I went here with my family. We tried the Crab, Parmesan and Spinach Dip and that was delicious! We also tried the Spinach salad, which I highly recommend, and that was fabulous too! The goat cheese, pecans and dressing was so great! I also tried the Bleu Cheese Filet Mignon and that was pretty good too.
They even sang Happy Birthday to me and gave me a Mocha Flavored Ice Cream cake. So goooooddd! It was light and just right. Not too sweet. -

The Keg really has a knack for being located in random far off locations. This one being the most remotely isolated one of them all.
However, this works for this location giving it a little extra seclusion to the experience. Trees buffer it from the Hwy 1 and the busy Willingdon & Lougheed so noise is never an issue.
The service here has always been perfect with drinks attentively refilled and minimal waits between ordering and eating. Staff are around just enough to take care of you without coming off as overly naggy.
Overall it makes for a fine and enjoyable dining experience and with its seclusion there's usually no need for a reservation. -
Review from Jenni B.
This is the newest Keg restuarant, and the only one in the Burnaby/Coquitlam area right now.
The location is convenient to major routes, making it easy to access from where ever you are coming from. The decor is really nice, it has a funky loungey kind of atmosphere.
My attendance here has been for post-work drinks and appies, and both are phenomenal. The servers are great; typically we end up occuping a table during the dinner rush, but they are always friendly and never seem bothered we are typically having drinks instead of eatting.
The appies are delicious, the Keg is consistently good which ever location.
I do suggest going a bit earlier than normal to beat the line, this place is quite popular and the parking lot gets full. -
Review from Tom Y.
The service was prompt and on-point in terms of drinks and food, I got the Sirloin and Shrimp combo. The bread that came before the meal was actually pretty good, gonna need something to soak up the boozes swimming in my stomach.
The Tiger Shrimp were not shrimp in size, they did not really season the shrimp which could work if the shrimp was full of flavor but not the batch of shrimp I had that night, so basically I just had pretty bland shrimp. The steak was not bad at all. But the overall experience of having to pay that much for bland shrimp, and only above average steak warrants only 3 stars. There are plenty of places that provide a better steak for your buck.
The atmosphere is really nice though, new decor and plenty of space. -

A good staple choice, when you want a steak and are too lazy to trudge downtown to something more upscale/trendier and refined.
