Came here for a nice evening out after the two hour drive from Vancouver. We were seated by the fireplace and it was a perfect touch to our dinner!
The waitress was pleasant and chatted with us and made sure our food was to our liking.
I ordered the Keg Classic Dinner: caesar salad, top sirloin steak, grilled vegetables, grilled mushrooms, double baked potato, and peppercorn sauce on the side.
It was a pretty solid dinner! The caesar salad ended up being enough for two people (not just a small starter size), the steak was cooked a little more red than I asked but was delicious, the vegetables were average but yummy, the double baked potato was sinful and amazing, and the peppercorn sauce was pretty good!
The bill with two drinks also came to somewhere in the $80 range. A great evening to kick off the weekend! -

Should have gone to 21 Steps.
The service was great, Eric was fantastic but we have experienced better food and pricing at other Kegs. Even though my husband likes his steak a little on the well done side, it was charred beyond recognition and really tough. The vegetable sides were small and honestly for the price, I think we would have done better for the same amount of money somewhere else. The wine list was acceptable.
It's not really a place if you are looking for a quiet, romantic spot as it is more for larger groups and what not. I have had better. -

The Keg Steakhouse & Bar is located in the heart of Whistler Village and sits above a lively bar called Brandy's. We came here for a hearty satisfying dinner. Although Brandy's bar downstairs was very energetic and loud, the ambiance of the dining area upstairs was relaxing and warm.
Getting here was a little bit of an adventure, mostly because we were visiting the area for the first time and didn't really know our way around the Village. Parking can be complicated, since you need to park in certain designated areas and then walk into the Village.
Once we finally arrived we were hungry! For starters we ordered the Tempura Snap Peas & Asparagus, which was lightly battered and served with a very tasty soy dipping sauce. They were so good we gobbled them up pretty fast!
For my main entrée I ordered the grilled Top Sirloin classic, which came with a salad, veggies and potato. I selected the Iceberg Wedge Salad which was so delicious. The creamy bleu cheese dressing was fantastic! I also selected the Twice Baked Potato with bacon bits, very yummy. The Steak was tender and had a good seasoning. The plating could have been better presented, but overall, it was a good meal.
The service was good and the prices are to be expected for the area, although we were here during off season. Overall it was a nice dining experience. -

Heading to Whistler, my husband and I were thinking we'd eat when we got there. No we did not expect to have difficulty finding the hotel and be ready to chew our legs off by the time we got to the hotel. Once we checked in we ran back to the Keg that we'd spotted on one of our wrong turns. It isn't to often we'd eat at the same place two nights in row, but we'd eaten at the Keg in Vancouver. This was not the Vancouver Keg.
The food was okay, here, the place was worn down and out. They seated us upstairs and it was hotter than a clam shell in July. The waiter was young and acted like we were harshin' his mellow. I ordered only water and asked if he could just bring me a big glass instead of the very small water glass he had given me. He shook his head no and walked away. I tried to be really nice about it and tell him I was trying to save him steps since I like my water. He was slow with the water.
Our steaks were not as good as the night before, my rib eye was on the tough side. We'd ordered the Bruschetta appetizer in Vancouver and loved it and then decided to do it all again here. Only they didn't prep it the same way nor did they give us the same amount of sauce.
The whole thing was a let down. It may not have been so bad if we didn't have something to compare it to. This location screams college hang out, with duct tape on the booth seats, even though you are in Whistler.Listed in: Steak and more Steak

So one of our good friends always take the whole group ( about 10 people) to dinner because he cannot cook. He is kind of a steak and potato meat guy so he always takes us here. Hey, we have no complaints since its a free meal.
Their steaks are okay . I have had better ones in the US ofcourse but I'm not complaining. Its a freel meal baby!
Would probably check out other restaurants in Whistler next time. -

The keg has always been a go to, but this one failed.
The waiter (Indian not native Indian) was a bit rude, and seemed like he wanted to get rid of us, wtf? Maybe he should go to a seminar on how to welcome guests. It sorta ruined the whole meal, and wished that we didn't go here.
The meat was fatty and tasteless.
Nothing to rave about, move on. -

According to my husband, he had the best Keg dinner he's ever had at this Whistler location.
He ordered a full rack of ribs and a side plate of asparagus. He finished the entire plate without sharing - not that he didn't offer - I just wanted to let him enjoy his meal in its entirety.
He said the corn on the cob was delicious and unique because it was spiced with some sort of cajun (???) spices.
The meat was tender and well sauced.
I had the cranberry, goat cheese, candied walnuts salad and I have to say it was quite delicious. I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything having ordered salad. I really enjoyed my meal too.
The complimentary bread and butter was less than "meh". We couldn't even finish it. The butter served is the whipped butter I hate - tastes so artificial. I love a dense thick butter. The bread was white and flourish tasting - nothing special.
Yay to a yummy meal at the Keg!!!! -

Just like any other keg. Make sure you have a reservation or be prepared to wait.
Prime Rib has got to be the best in town still! -

Yup, it can get crowded. Get there early, so you can line up past the families with strollers. This is standard steak house food for me, but being up in the mountains, steak suddenly becomes comfort food. Get there when there's a hockey game, after skiing? The the wait gets even longer at times.
I stayed with my main line selections: French onion soup was fairly hearty with beef broth swimming with Spanish onions, Parmesan cheeses. I liked their spinach salad of the baby spinach variety, mandarin oranges, cranberries and pecans. Then twas bleu cheese fillet for me...fillet Mignon wrapped in bacon and grilled with all those cheese crust. Lots of brown roasted garlic cloves. Oh yeah, Molsons. -

We have eaten here a few times over the last couple years. The service is always very slow, food is OK not worth the price, but the portions are good. We kept going back for the atmosphere with the games on the many TV's.
this was the last time we will be eating there. The food was horrible (sans the potatoes) and took over an hour to get served. The kids menu at $12 was over priced for the small portions even by Whistler standards. -

Was here with a large group of colleagues late one evening for dessert. I recall noticing the strange music which contributed to the equally strange ambiance. Was too tired to notice the apple crisp but the service was good at least.

The Keg is a great laid back restaurant to go to after a day on the slopes. I had never been to another one of these franchises, and my opinion is that it's "ok" - certainly not great, but ok. The meals that my party got were hit or miss - the prime rib was just not great, but the NY strip was very good. We had the mashed potatoes and twice-baked potatoes and they were both very good. Also, the truffle mac and cheese was probably the star of the meal, while the asparagus was unfortunately the worst I've ever had. Our server was nice and mostly attentive.
I think there is potential at The Keg, but not for the prime rib, unfortunately. -

This is what a bar should be on a mountain. Lots of gin and whiskey, good beers, good bar food, a fast, friendly bartender, and some good people to sit and talk with.
With the wife out at the spa, I was kicking it at The Keg which has been across from our hotel for the past 5 days. Ask the barkeep for a good dark beer and the guy delivers. The Notre Dame blowout was being televised before switching over to snowboarding movies.
I was chatting it up with Gary and Luke down at the corner of the bar, talking smack about the crappy Canucks, but all in good fun.
The chicken was cooked very well, not to heavy, great slice of breast meet to go along with a few Knob Creek's, always served neat.Listed in: Whistler, BC: because you just…

Arriving early Friday evening for a weekend in Whistler, we decided to go for something casual. Learning that the wait for a table for 2 was up to 45 minutes at Earl's, we walked over to The Keg just around the block.
There are not a whole lot of selections on the menu. Although it is a steak house, the types of steak available are rather limited. Most of choices are sirloin and the other varieties (e.g. rib eye) are rather limited. The steak choices were not appealing to me at all so I ended up having blackened prawns on a rice pilaf. The dish was alright but the premium price I paid was mostly for the fact that I was in a resort town. -

Was craving for steak and this place was pretty good :D. Had the mushrooms for starters which was really good and had the rib eye for dinner. Loved the choices for potatoes. Had the double baked and that was a great decision! Can't go wrong with the Keg. Service was a bit slow though. I did not mind much since the place did seem really busy.

Prime rib decently priced, perfectly cooked and nicely seasoned. Service was OK, which took away a star but otherwise a fantastic dinner.

Great food, the service was exceptional. With the eclectic mix of servers from around the globe, I am sure you could find someone with a great story, and accent. Spinach salad with a beautiful grilled chicken breast, was what I craved. Good wine, good food, good service... Novemeber 24th dinner on the town.

for a chain steak house in canada, i must say, the Keg is REALLY good. better than most crap we have out here in california.
we all had the prime rib, which was pretty good... thick and cooked just right.
the mushroom appetizer was really good too, great flavor.
but the thing i miss most, thats not on the menu, is the twice baked potato... holy crap that is one GOOD potato...
i might just have to fly to canada again to just to eat it. -

Met some friends here after a day of skiing in April. It's a nice place and good contrast to Dub Linh Gate (sp), is more sports oriented. Liked the food here more, but the service had issues and it wasn't a particularly busy time either. Had to go to the bar to order more beer - I hate that. Beers were okay, but I think Americans (or just me) and Canadians have different views on what an IPA is - I've been too spoiled by So Cal IPAs (you rock Firestone and Stone). Based on my observations, some Canadian establishments have to split the bar and restaurant areas (because of families I think). Just be aware that menus/services/and or hours can be different in what might seem to be one part of the same bar.

My dinner at Keg was yummy goodness! The blue cheese crust on my rib eye was to die for. The service was classy and professional. A favorite dinner during our visit to Whistler.
