It's hard to review this place - came in here on a whim, and it was empty on a Friday around 3pm. Service was quick and attentive, and food was pretty tasty - I had my standard Tom Ka Gai, which was delicious, and my friend had a beefy noodle dish that the server described as pretty spicy - according to him it wasn't spicy at all.
Portions were not very big, considering the prices, and tea was not free (came with tea bags), which is a personal pet peeve of mine.
If you're in the area, and starving, give it a try - don't know that I would recommend it over the two very good restaurants across the street though. -

* A tease *
Popped in as I had been meaning to try this place which has been open a few months now. I was greeted by a very friendly server.
There was lots of Thai being spoken between the server and the smiley woman in the kitchen. Good sign as so many Thai spots have no Thai people working in them. Score!
I ordered my standard test dish of Nua Phad Bai Grapau. Sadly they were out of beef, so I ended up with Gai Phad Bai Grapau instead.
The flavour profile on the sauce was good - nicely balanced between the sweet, salty, and heat. The chicken was tender and well seasoned. They didn't use Thai holy basil, opting for standard North American sweet basil instead. Oh well. There were also a ton of veggies you wouldn't normally find like cauliflower, broccoli, bell peppers, etc. Also no Thai chilis to be found anywhere in the dish. So it wasn't really the dish I was looking for - even though the sauce was tasty - it was a Canadian style stir-fry basically. Decent for what it is, but sadly not going to scratch the itch.
The rice was a bit overcooked as well, resulting in a slightly mushy texture.
Overall apparently you can't judge a restaurant by the language they speak!Listed in: Vancouver Thai Food
