I have given this restaurant three chances, and they have pretty much failed all three times. The first two times, they decided to close before their posted time, so I didn't even have a chance to try their food. I finally got in yesterday, by going in quite early. The service was great, the food was amazing, but the problem seems to be the management. There were three couples there, us included, who had wanted to use the Groupon that had been available a couple of days prior. However, the management refused to redeem the Groupons, claiming they could not process them for another two days. The Groupon clearly stated that it could be used immediately, so the responsible thing would have been for the management to acknowledge their mistake with a discount or something similar. But even when one of the couples complained and pointed out that the Groupon had no starting date, the management, who could be clearly heard, simply said no, over and over, no matter how much the waitress tried to explain the situation. So I'm not sure if I'll ever return to a place where management cares nothing for the customers. I probably won't.

Food: Freshness- from my Chirashi, it's just okay. I should have been alerted when I see the raw fish inside of the little display box was completed wrapped with plastic wrap.
Service: While the staff was polite- our food came out one by one at an incredibly slow pace and the place was NOT crowded! We were going to order a broiled/grilled whole squid and I asked the waitress for a wait time estimate and she said.. 10.. 15.. maybe 25 minutes? No thanks.
Overall crappy food and service that would put me to sleep if I didnt have good company there. -

Hubby and I took my parents, my sister, and a friend to Victoria for a day trip during our week long trip to British Columbia. We spent a day at Butchart Gardens and came to Kaz to meet up with another friend who happens to live in the area, who suggested to meet at Kaz.
With 7 in the party, we ordered a variety of dishes. I got the udon in seafood broth. It was the most bland udon soup dish I've ever had... ever. My sister got the Katsu Don (fried pork chop over rice with eggs) and husband got the beef version, both were bland as well.
Overall, it was pricey for the food served. I would not go back again. Only reason I gave it two stars is because the service was decent (friendly staff) and the location is good. But the food really needs to improve as this was the most disappointing restaurant we've had during our week long vacation in British Columbia. -

Excellent local place for well priced and tasty sushi. Their cooked/hot menu is decent but not spectacular. It is quite varied which is nice for a Victoria Japanese restaurant.
Their uni is also usually very good and I think is an unofficial house specialty.
We come here fairly often and always enjoy ourselves. -

Good food, but poor service, at least at lunch. It took forever to place an order, our Renee's food came 15 minutes before ours, and they forgot about her soup. We were there at least an hour and our water was never refilled. At the food tasted good.

Kinda poopy. The bento boxes are like not good, I don't know who they think they're kidding by only giving you 4 California rolls, the miso soup was like the best i've ever had though. But the place is very small and dirty looking, me no likey!
