I went here after reading other reviews - needed to get a haircut and had never been to a proper barber before.
Karo was amazing. He's precise with his lines, listens to what you want and ultimately you leave looking much better then when you went in. Great job - if you're a guy and haven't had the barbershop experience before, try out this unpretentious and underrated shop. Truly an artisan of his craft. -

I never understood why a man can get a haircut for $25 but the same for a woman starts at $42.
Today I wandered by (with yelp's assistance) past a busy barber the block before, to this empty one with one obvious staff and a large dog sprawled out on the floor (the dog, not the man).
I asked for a walk-in (he wasn't with a client) and then discussed what I was looking for. They are all about appointments and weren't with someone that moment as they had cancelled. I asked what a cut would cost and decided to stay for the next availability in 20 minutes after he said my cut would cost $25. Nice. So here I leather couch sit, a-yelping, listening to the easy conversation of the next scheduled client who just popped in and the unfrequent dog whine.
Appointment now done. A masterpiece. $25 cash with $2 HST added if paying any other way. I paid by debit and added a 'fiver' as tip. Thank you. (Course the real do I like it wont occur til I'm home and mirror gazing)
