I was happy to find this natural grocer on Bank Street, in the area that I tend to go to.  Handy!  (Was driving down to Byward Market area for my gluten free supplies.)

I don't have a good feel yet for pricing in this city for this type of good - but I was ok with the prices I found.

It's a small store, but has all the basics for organic and special diet needs.

Would I return:  Yes, it's handy to me, so I will
Would I recommend:  Yes, perfect for people who live in the area.  Probably not worth a long drive just to go here.  (You can likely find something closer to home.)

Great place to stock up on baking supplies, spices, dried fruits and nuts, natural products etc. They have lost of different kinds of flour that is great for making bread a bit more exciting and also they have a good selection of whole spices, which keep much better than the ground kind.

Most of the time the service is very helpful and friendly, the odd time you get a disinterested cashier. We often go Sunday noon and it isn't too busy which is nice because the Glebe can get a bit hairy on the weekends.

Well, they're not as cheap as Bulk Barn, but Kardish offers some natural hippy products that won't be found at that big bulk chain. They offer an extensive line of earth friendly body care and home cleaning products. So far, I haven't been impressed with their soy based meat simulated "food." My worst experience was this fish substitute that looked like little square pieces of pasta...plain pasta actually has more taste: this stuff was terrible.

However, this is a tempting place to stop by if I'm walking downtown and want a treat for the trip. They have the usual dried snack suspects that are so deliciously tasty. Of course, they also carry bulk goods for baking, such as spices. And if you're looking for a great variety of bagged tea for a reasonable price, Kardish is the best place to go in the Glebe.
