    12/22/2011 1 Check-in Here

I just dropped in with my slippers. They are the fourth pair of slippers I've bought here in the last 6 years or so. The first two pairs were awesome and lasted until the shearling was worn off and all was left was the hide buffed shiny from years of wear. The last two pairs however got holes in the inner lining of the foot bed within the first 2 months. The first time this happened I took the slipper apart and replaced the entire bottom myself. I inspected the hole and found that the hide was split and not as thick as the first ones. It was incredibly fragile for use on the footbed. I let it go, thinking that is was a one time problem and bought another pair to replace them. Within 2 months of wear, the same thing happened.
I thought I would take them in to show the shop owner, so he could pass this information on to the manufacturers. He not only offered no solutions, no compassion,  and no support, he did not even peak into the slipper to see what I was referring to as I held it out for him....he actually shrugged his shoulders, as if to say, "what's your point, lady?"
It's not like I was seeking out a new pair of slippers for free or anything, but, I'm a business owner with a product that I stand behind. Not only would I want to know if there was a problem, but, I would want to help the customer find a solution for the issue. This pair of slippers should have lasted at least a year, not 2 months. The quality that is coming out of this shop is not longer predictable and I'm no longer willing to spend my money in this shop, especially since they have no intention of standing behind their product.
Is this what the Canada is coming to? A place where simply everything is considered to be 'disposable'?
I would prefer to spend $100 for slippers that last than to pay $40 for slippers that last only a few months!
Bottom line... I will never darken this shops door again, and in fact, I will go out of my way to find better slippers.
