They really care about their customers. I don't see much point going anywhere else, unless you want to save some money on some discount tires not found at Kal Tire. Kal Tire sells premium tires so you'll expected to pay more and the prices are similar to Costco. The auto business has a lot of competition and Kal Tire is one of those who gives some of the best service I've experienced.

I came to this location looking for specific tires, high performance run flat tires. The service rep was very helpful as he came out to check out my old balding winters. He took a quick look and told me what I already knew, the treads were low. I already did the penny test on the treads. Here's how to find out if your tires need replacement:
1. Take a Canadian or American penny and pinch between your thumb and forefinger.
2. Put Queen Elizabeth II's crown into several grooves between the treads
3. If you can see the top of QE's crown, then your treads are worn and needs replacement. Or if you see top of Lincoln's head, replace them tires.
In Canada, it's illegal to have treads lower then 1.55 mm. Unfortunately, the rep told me the tires I specifically wanted is not in stock and it could take 3 weeks to order it from the Portland warehouse and it would be very expensive. So, he offer me Nokian tires which I declined. I went online and search for it at Discount Tires in Bellingham. It was in stock and I booked appointment directly from their website. I headed down south on the weekend and got the tires replaced at a better price then anywhere in BC. It's great that we have the option of going to WA state for better prices and options.
Overall, the service rep was friendly and helpful even if I didn't find the specific tires I required. This Kal-tire is very clean for a tire/auto repair shop in this area of burnaby.
