Kahawa was a great spot on College, with a fabulous owner and a comfortable ambiance, but these days it's called the Bean.

    RIP, Kahawa.

This coffee house has the unfortunate luck of being located just down the street from the super popular Manic Coffee.  Everyone goes to Manic, and it seems like Kahawa is never as packed.

For people who like a nice quiet space to sit and have a coffee while you read, chat with a friend or hang out on your laptop, Kahawa is definitely the place to go.  They offer free internet (ask the counter for the password) and there's a handful of seats in here.  It's certainly not a big place, but that just makes all the cozier.

And the coffee.  Definitely one of the best Americanos I've had in a long time (and these days I consume alot of that stuff...)  I'm really surprised that it's taken me this long to try Kahawa out simply because I was wooed by the popularity of Manic.  Anyone in this neighbourhood is doing themselves a disservice by not trying this place out.

i too like, alejandro, never really noticed this coffee spot until last night and im around that area often enough.  i would think that it has something to do with the name and its sign.

its name is the type of name that probably everyone would have to have repeated for them at least once.  a good portion of those people would ask how to spell it.  then the sign is all light brown essentially, with the writing/font in cursive, again making it harder to read or stand out.

inside however, this place does have a smattering of seats.   i dont know if id call it cozy, but quaint maybe.  theres a tall table at the window with a tall plant nearby.  there are a few tables lining the wall opposite the counter.

i was going to stay and read for a bit, but they were just closing and instead i walked outside and finished my double shot cappuccino in a few gulps and boy was it tasty.

plus! and this is always the best part of a place i think, the people were very welcoming and nice.

the 8:00 am stop on the morning ride along college took me to a free bench for an americano... the hospitality and warm conversation about coffee and cardamon and cinnamon was a welcome chat..

they have a bench and from the looks of it wifi as well...

    cant complain about the americano
