This Junior's location is a must visit when we are home in Winnipeg. Just seeing that Red, Blue and White logo on the paper wrapper makes me crave the distinct flavour of a Fat Boy. I have found that other cities in the West do not have the Greek hamburger joints to the extent that Winnipeg enjoys.
There is something about the finely chopped onions, mustard and special Junior's chili hamburger sauce that is just SO right. This location is aging but there is also something fun about seeing it in all it's 'retro glory'. -

I was craving for a poutine one day so as I passed by the Junior's on St. Mary's Road, I saw a big sign declaring "buy 1 fat boy get 1 free." I haven't eaten at a Junior's in years...so instead of just getting a poutine, I opted in on the BOGO deal...it's the Winnipeg side of me. I think the poutine cost more than the two fat boy deals as it was close to $5 but it also weighed like 2 lbs so well worth the price in gravy. It's the classic Winnipeg poutine with gravy, mozzarella and fries. No cheese curds in sight but it was pretty good - fries were crispy and the gravy was good.
Just the way I remembered it, the fat boy pleased this gal (never thought I'd utter those lines! LOL). It could've used some more chili on the patty, but it was delicious and messy with all the fixins of tomatoes, lettuce and mayonnaise.
The restaurant itself is a bit dated...(in all locations) and you actually have to wait for your order to be cooked so it's not like a BK.
