Thanks yelpers for all your great reviews! That was the deciding factor on figuring out where to order sushi tonight for Valentine's dinner with my husband and kids. The fact that they deliver and have an online menu sealed the deal.
At first I couldn't get through and felt defeated but my daughter and I headed down to the car and as soon as we started the engine she got through. Bingo! They were having a busy night which meant delivery was going to take longer but we were prepared to wait.
Ordering for three teenagers and two adults means you need a lot. I tried to stick to the basics as they're not really into the super exotic ingredients.
Here's what we got;
5 miso soup
1 edamame
1 pork gyoza - amazingly delicious
2 agedashi tofu
1 - $20 party tray (54 pieces assorted)
2 yam tempura rolls
2 spicy tuna rolls
Everything was so fresh and delicious but those pork gyoza get extra special mention. I often judge a place by the strength of their wasabi and this stuff was KNOCKOUT! Everything got gobbled up and my sweethearts were all sated. With a decent tip this all worked out to under $13 per person! This is definitely going to be our go-to sushi delivery place from now on. -

A small take away kinda place, Jun's ramen, udon, teriyaki and yakisoba menu picks are a cooked food compliment to the wild salmon serving assortment of sushi. Reasonably prices and free parking to boot, it's a decent quick fix.
Being into cones right now, I set my sights on the avocado and salmon, and the BBQ Eel roll. Both were fantastic. Fresh fish, ripe avocados and the seaweed had the right amount of bite. My sunomono salad was amply stocked with shrimp, but I wouldn't say it was the freshest tasting. The vinegar and noodles though, were just the right amount of chill and chew.
If this were my hood I could see myself becoming a regular.Listed in: Vancouver Sushi Love

Jun Sushi is an absolute staple in my family's eating rotation. When I was a little kid it was something pretty special to get sushi and that sushi was always from this little family run joint on Broadway. We first discovered this place because we used to go to the Blockbuster across the street but, needless to say, even after moving to a new part of the city, Jun Sushi remained on the radar.
Everything that my predecessors have said is true: the food takes a little while but it is amazing and very fresh (go for a salmon or tuna cone!) Everything is done with care and that includes customer service. Some 10 years ago, the owner/sushi chef noticed that we were coming in so often that, during the winter holiday, he topped our meal off with a complimentary box of candy canes!
That kind of personal attention is what makes small family restaurants so charming and it is what brings us back to Jun Sushi time and again. -

Terrible service, great food, great prices. I would definitely go well out of my way to eat here or take advantage of the free delivery.

This place is a quiet family run take-out type joint. I came from out of town to visit UBC and was looking for something low key with decent food and price. This place definitely has decent prices. Since it's a small family run place the staff isn't too attentive, but if you need something they'll get it for you, you just need to grab their attention.
I'm usually not a big fan of sushi (coming from the midwest you don't get a lot of fresh fish anyway) but I would say "Yay! I'm a fan."
I ordered half a roll of the Jun special, which is a plus if you're not a big eater or want to try several rolls, and the Tokyo ramen, which was average noodles and soup. -

EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT!
It's my go-to comfort sushi place. Although the setting is very casual (don't expect any fancy decorations), the sushi is great. and not to mention, also a great price; a cucumber roll (6 pcs) is 2 dollars!
The waitress is shy, and is probably exhausted because she and her husband I think work everyday, 12 hours. So don't be miffed if she doesn't seem energetic. -

This place had the distinct air of being a neighbourhood secret despite being on Broadway.
Outside is just a plain white sign with red lettering, suggesting it's just another one of those plain old take out Japanese restaurants that you so commonly see.
Inside the deception continues as the walls are decorated purely of photos and prices of their various offerings. Another one of those places where you simply order off the wall.
Service is very friendly and it seems like they know all the neighbourhood folks that run through here. After you place your order the magic begins.
At first you might feel a little irritated, it takes a little longer than most places. However that is all forgiven when each plate is brought out with the most delicate care. That same attention seems to have been placed in the creation of each roll, each cone and basically every dish.
Unlike most places where the photos look better than the food, this place needs a better photographer as the food is far fresher and better looking than any of their pictures convey. -

Beginning to go here more and more, its location is very convenient from UBC and the price is great for the quality of sushi. Sit down can take a while as they're usually backed up filling take out and delivery orders, but if anything, that attests to the popularity of the place. No frills dining environment, and they don't need it.

This place is not very flashy looking like the eatery down the street but the food here is awesome! The prices are very reasonable and the staff are very friendly.

Been here for take out once. Really good value for your hard earned cash here. Definitely will go back again maybe even for a sit down meal.

This is my favourite sushi place, anywhere! I have been coming to Jun Sushi for 11 years and have not once been disappointed. Even though the atmosphere looks a bit dingy, the sushi is always perfectly fresh and delicious. I think this is the best kept secret in Vancouver. The owners are supremely friendly and accommodating, even making pregnancy-friendly sushi for me when I had an insatiable craving during my second trimester. I can't say enough good things about not only the food here, but also the couple who owns the place.
