Really good breakfasts. I had the florentine poached eggs they were delicious and I had a fabulous late with my breakfast. My husband's orange was freshly squeezed while we were there.
Highly recommend this place. It's very unassuming and a great place to go.
Nice and cozy with the fire place nearby :) -

I was really confused when I first walked in the door. I'm not an idiot but it always helps to have some signs for first time customers so they're not standing dumbfounded at the door wondering why no one has come to seat them. It took the staffer behind the counter a few minutes to realize it wasn't that obvious and he shouted over, "How can I help you?" so I asked how it works and he said, "Order anything you like with me and then find a seat." and that's what I did. Maybe an "Order Here" sign is in order.
The place itself is alright but it seems they won't clear and clean the tables unless you stand by it and wait for it to be cleaned, I'm more of a proactive kind of person so that was a bit annoying. It would've been understandable if they had been really busy but they weren't.
They redeemed themselves with the food. Nothing particularly special, just really well done and at reasonable prices. I would definitely come back and give them another shot, now that I know how it all works. -

A casual Kits breakfast spot at Cornwall & Cypress where you line up to place an order and the food is brought to your table - a great choice to chill out with friends on a sunny day.
We came for breakfast on a Sunday. We had:
- French toast with icing sugar & strawberries - Recommend if you're feelin' a sweet breakfast. This crispy deliciousness was delightfully satisfying!
- Blueberry pancakes - 3 big pancakes with syrup and blueberry sauce -

I usually come in here when I drop my dog off for grooming at Woof's.
This place is quiet weekday mornings, but the staff are so busy and the place so big that I never feel awkward about being there for an hour. If I lived around the neighbourhood, I could see myself hanging out with a book or laptop for an afternoon... with my dog... in the patio--- gotta move to Kits!
I have their coffee with sourdough bread toast (YUM). I've also tried their breakfast with eggs. It was good food, no complaints. You order and pay, and you take a seat and the food's brought out to you: very nice.
By the staff being "busy". I'm not sure what they are doing, prepping for lunch/dinner service? Anyway, I noticed that they're in the back kitchen a lot and I would have to either wait, or get attention with sadly tentative "Hello? Hello..?"s. Once, this couple came in, and no one was at the register, and they were waiting and waiting, but no one came out, so they got all huffy and left. (Yes, I could have said something here instead of witnessing all this smugly behind my cup of coffee... meh, just didn't have the samaritan spirit in me that day)
All I can say is, either wait, or yell louder. I like this place.
Food equals Price (at least justifies it, being at a convenient location in kits and is yummy)
Comfortable over Ugly Decor (after the first minute, who notices the horrific pattern on the chairs anyway)
Take it over White Spot any day. -

Didn't like it at all. My bread was stale, slow service, confusing atmosphere. I would have gladly made myuslef breakfast isnsteead and it wuld have been better. I'd put this as my least favorite breakfast spot in the city. I think they should light a stick of dynamite to this place and start over.. sorry

After passing it frequently during walks through the neighbourhood, I finally decided to stop for brunch at Juliet's Cafe. The brunch menu was long, and there was something for everyone - omelettes, pancakes, french toast, eggs benedict, sausage, bacon, etc. I ordered the eggs benny (there is a regular option and a salmon option). It came with a Parmesan sauce rather than a Hollandaise sauce, and a side of potatoes, and was surprisingly delicious. The coffee here was also excellent and came in a giant mug.
Service was fast and friendly. You order at the counter and then they bring it out to your table for you when it is ready. There is lots of seating space both inside and outside, and it's a great spot for both families and singletons alike. -
Review from Vincci L.
A casual brunchstop in Kits. This place is open and roomy, and windows all around makes it feel like home. Their menu consists of benedicts, omelettes, and standard breakfast items.
Order up front, take the number back to your table, and food will be served right to you. Self-serve water pitcher in the front.
I had the Eggs Florentine which was surprisingly good. The side of potatoes were a little over roasted but it was seasoned well. Price was the same as any other brunch place in Vancouver, minus the servers.
Like the atmosphere. Will come again for a quick stop for breakfsat or lunch. -

Fantastic, kid-friendly place for breakfast. Healthy food at reasonable prices. Try the omelettes.

I was awoken when a friend threw stones at my window at an early morning hour to go for breakfast (okay, it was a phone call, and lots of people are up at 9 on a Sunday...I'm just not one of them) We wanted a no-line-up spot so enter Juliet's Cafe, stage left:
Oh Romeo, Romeo, where fore art thou Romeo? (Oh, you've been renamed to Juliet)
Perhaps the Montague's seized the English muffins and hollandaise for the Eggs Benny, leaving the Capulet's with only sourdough and Parmesan sauce to make a breakfast with (Oh dear!) It was good, not great, but I didn't feel compelled to add any additional seasoning to the dish - so bravo on hitting the salt to sauce ratio well!
For the price, I would have expected a little more on my plate - like a third act. A fruit cup perhaps?
And without an encore for coffee - this definitely isn't a palace to linger at - unless you want to pay for all of your refills.
I could be swayed to go back to try the french toast - it looked delish with strawberries and little glimpses of icing sugar floating all over the plate.
(PS. My apologies for the cheesy Shakespeare references...I just couldn't resist!) -

We were in Vancouver for a quick weekend trip to visit some family, and I was instructed to "go Yelp something for brunch" with some aunts, uncles and cousins. After a cursory search by food type and neighbourhood, Juliet's quickly rose to the top of the list, primarily because they take reservations.
I finally found parking at the beach parking lot (don't bother with street parking if you don't have a resident permit, btw) and joined the rest of my family in the cafe. And by joined the rest of my family I mean got in line to order my food. I think this is a really weird format - queue up to order and pay for your food at the counter, then have a seat and they bring your food to you.
I have to ding them a star for this, because I wasn't able to join my party for over ten minutes while I waited to order, and then our food came to the table in several waves, which meant some of us were finished with our meal before others even started. This would be fine if you were by yourself or in a party of two or even four, but with our party of eight, it felt really disjointed and awkward.
However, the food was incredibly tasty and I'd have to say it was worth the hassle of waiting in line et cetera. The eggs in my jalapeno, bell pepper and cheese omelet were fluffy and clearly fresh, and the side of ham was freshly grilled and very savory, a perfect compliment to my eggs. Everyone else in my party raved about their dishes, ranging from eggs to pastries. As we finished our food, nobody was in a hurry to rush us off as we finished our coffee and chatted.
Which brings me to the second ding - you have to pay for refills on drip coffee. What kind of breakfast restaurant makes you pay for refills on drip coffee? Sure it was good coffee, but I could very easily drink an entire breakfast's cost worth of coffee alone.
I dunno, maybe I should thank them for making me limit my coffee consumption for the day.
Anyway, great food, open, airy atmosphere, weird ordering process, lame paying for drip coffee refills policy. Change the ordering at the counter, and have someone circulating with a fresh pot of coffee at no additional charge, and you're probably looking at a five star experience.Listed in: On the Road - West

This place makes pretty decent breakfast. I give it three stars because it feels more like a coffee shop and I prefer my breakfasts to be served at a place that is more like a diner. The quality of the food is good, but there is cheaper breakfast to be had in the neighborhood. You order from the counter and they bring the food out to you.
I would prefer to not have to pay for refills of coffee. I don't know about this 'small' or 'large' coffee, I just want a mug, and by the time I drink 2/3 of it, I want it to be refilled. And I want to repeat that process about 3-4 times. I can't do that here.
The bacon is sufficient, it's really crisp and flat. The french toast that someone posted a picture of is excellent. It's sourdough bread or something, not ghetto white bread slices. I don't really care for the potatoes, they're pretty big segments (I prefer my taters to be in hash brown form). I wish I could pay a little extra to substitute fruit for potatoes, but they are not down.. The fruit that they serve is proper here, it comes with kiwi.
It's the closest breakfast place to my house, I just don't find myself going that often. Only when I am hungover and that's as far as I can make it out the door.Listed in: Kitsilano, Vancouver, BC

I want to give this 3.5, but I'll give them slightly higher because of the friendliness of the staff. It's also one of the few places in the area that will make you non-sweetened iced tea. What is up with all the sweetened tea Vancouver... The french toast was pretty good, though the prices here are higher than they should be considering breakfast food is so cheap.

Juliet's Café offers standard Westcoast café-style fare. It's a casual place, lots of windows and natural light illuminate the dining area, casting a warm glow over the already warm yellow-painted walls.
Juliet's is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner so they offer a wide variety of dishes suitable for varying times of day. For breakfast, their eggs benedict are always good. Hollandaise is forgone for a thick Parmesan sauce, spilling over the poached eggs and adding a new dimension of flavour to a traditional benny. Their lunch menu consists primarily of salads and sandwiches (cold and toasted), each one topped with a host of different vegetable combinations and roasted meats.
The dinner menu is large and extensive. They offer a range of different pasta dishes and roasts. The food generally has an Italian slant, with rich basil infused sauces and sundried tomatoes dominating most of the dishes. My favourite is the linguine. Served with an array of Portobello, shiitake, oyster, enoki... all the subtly different flavours blend and give what would be a classic dish an added dimension.
They also offer catering services. The price is a bit high but well worth given what they can do. -

The fruit parfait is what little girls (and not so little girls) dream of - the rest of the brunch menu is good, but not earth shattering.

I really like Juliet's. It's a great little spot to have on your radar when you're in the mood to go for brunch, but don't want to wait in line with the throngs of people at the trendier spots. The coffee and lattes are solid; the fresh orange juice is excellent. Their muffins are awesome, although recently I just had a traditional breakfast of two eggs over easy with sourdough toast and bacon. It's all delicious--not the most gourmet you'll ever have, but well-cooked, not too greasy, and a perfect-sized portion (not too big or too small). They do have a small patio, which is nice in the summer. I recommend Juliet's Cafe. It's the one brunch place in Kits where you'll get your coffee before the caffeine-deprived crankiness sets in.

Great breakfast place! i don't say that lightly (I am a VERY picky breakfast eater). They have good sourdough bread, great bacon and you get exactly what you asked for, which seems to be a challenge for many breakfast places where I inevitable get hollandaise sauce or cheese with my scrambled eggs. Not in Juliet's. Simply perfect!
