Great experience! I had leg waxing and a brazilian done. Julia makes you feel totally comfortable, the place is super clean and you can tell she has high standards.
The wax itself was pretty painless and she did a really thorough job, going in with tweezers after to make sure everything was out.
I think I have finally found THE waxing place. I will never go anywhere else again. -

I had been debating getting defuzzed down there for a while because of the pain that is to be expected in getting a Brazilian. After reading all the positive reviews and seeing Julia's prices, I decided to go to her for my first one.
I booked an appointment through her website in the late evening, and she attempted to call me within the hour, which I didn't expect, so I missed the call. She then emailed me to confirm the appointment. Julia is very prompt in getting back to you!
Julia's Esthetics is located above Thumbs Up Korean Fast food (restaurant with the big red sign) at the corner of Palmerston and Bloor. When I walked into the place which by the way, is very clean and tidy, Julia was there to greet me and offered me a beverage. She is the only esthetician here and it seems she sees one person at a time, so this is a great place to go if you want privacy.
Julia was awesome in getting me to relax. She kept me in conversation through the most painful parts of the wax, and once she sensed I was relaxed, she let me be in the calm and not awkward silence. After it was done, she gave me advice on how to prevent ingrown hair and she answered questions I had.
Julia made my first Brazilian experience as easy and comfortable as it could be, and I couldn't ask for more. I will definitely be back. -

Came to Julia's Esthetics based on the positive reviews I read and I'm so glad I did! My eyebrows needed a major clean up for the holidays. I came with my friend right the time we booked. She took her time and made sure it was even! And she even cleaned up my forehead for me, since I am a hairy person. Eyebrow waxing only costed $10 + tax and tips (still under $15).
Julia is an extremely friendly person and a funny person!
Absolutely love my brows! My friend was so impressed with Julia that she promised herself she won't let anyone else touch her brows, other than her, ever again. haha.
Definitely worth coming back for! :D -

I became Julia's regular and all that is said above (all that is positive) is true. Julia is very nice, does great job, is very relaxed and down to earth, and very respectful of her customers, irrespective of bodily hair she is removing, tweezing, or tinting.

I had to wait 20 minutes for my facial appointment and the esthetician left the room to answer the phone 3 times during my session. I did not feel relaxed at all. Will not come back.

Julia is phenomenal!!!
I have very reactive, sensitive skin and after I recently had a microdermabrasion at another place thanks to one of those group buy dealies, I found out how VERY VERY VERY dry my face had become.
Now, I didn't think I was going to be a woman who'd be obsessively worried about looking older... but it turns out, I DO!!! (It probably doesn't help that I had my birthday this week.) So I frantically turned to Yelp earlier this week to find a good, affordable esthetician. And lemme tell ya, I found one in Julia. I TOO THANK YOU, YELP!
I emailed her and she got back to me right away. We booked for today for a hydrating facial. Someone else talked about her ghost-like hands and that is all I could think about as I lay back and experienced the magic of those hands. She also wrapped my hands in paraffin wax so that my hands were lucky enough to get spoiled, too!
After letting her know the problems with my skin, she quickly went to work and not a single product she used reacted with my skin. That is unheard of! I think she put me in a trance because before I knew it, an hour and a half had passed by. She finished with a "Look! Your skin is glowing!" And indeed it is -- something that I've never had happen before.
I'm committed to taking better care of my skin from now on, and I now have my anti-aging secret weapon and her name is Julia! -

Services: Facial waxing and Facial
So it's not something a gal wants to admit, but I need to wax my face. I'm hairy and that's how I deal with it. For years I've gone to HORRIBLE HORRIBLE "estheticians". No longer do you have to go to one of your own to avoid the shame and humiliation. Go to Julia's now!
She has ghost hands - you can barely feel them on your skin. Everything she did from the time I walked into her walk up spa was professional. The wax was at a good temperature and she learned from her one and only mistake of trying to wax my sideburn all at once. She never made one rude comment about me, which if you're getting your FACE waxed is a blessing.
The next day I went for a facial. Holy hell! It was the most beautiful and relaxing experience ever. One again Julia's ghost likehands worked their magic - spreading lotions, masks, extracting, massaging. Oh the massaging.
You may look at her prices and go "eek!" but trust me, she is worth it! And if you value your privacy it looks like she only books one client at a time because it's just her working her own spa. And boy does she do it well. -

If it weren't for Yelp, I never would have found Julia and I am so, so, so glad I did.
Around 6:30 on a weeknight I left her a message asking to make an appointment to wax my legs and within the hour she called me back, booked my appointment, and cheerfully answered all of my questions.
Upon arrival, she was so friendly (she's so cute!), swept me onto the table, and waxed my very, very, very hairy legs (you don't even know) with precision like none other. She did a great job of preparing the skin for the treatment, making it as painless as possible, and grabbing every last hair. Afterward she told me how to take care of my skin for the next few days, just to make sure everything was perfect from start to finish.
Getting my lower legs done cost $20 and a huge tip for Julia. While I don't need this procedure regularly, I told Julia that I'd definitely see her in the future. She is the best! -

This hidden gem in a busy neighbourhood is my best discovery this week!
Yelper's aren't wrong rating it 5 stars.
I went for a Pedi ($35 for a spa pedi, $25 for regular) and it was one of the best ones I've ever had. She was so thorough it makes me think all my previous pedis were just doing it wrong! (Compare with pedi's at spas and salons for $50-60!)
She starts with a sea salt scrub, then you soak your feet. She'll take off remaining polish, then file. Then rubs moisturizer and puts your feet in bag full of parrafin and in to fuzzy slippers. I've never had the lotion on before, and she told me this is the proper way so it makes your feets super soft.
She also waxed the little hairs off my toes without asking.
then a very thorough cleaning and scrubbing. Then massage and polish.
I was there for a full 1hr and 15 mins. I already booked a manicure.
I would imagine a non-spa pedicure is just a cleaning, emery and polish change.

I love Julia!!! I have been seeing her for over 2 years after getting a very welcomed recommendation from a former roommate's cousin.
Why do I love her?
- She's quick. Waxing (especially particular areas) is not exactly the most fun to be had on a Saturday morning, but the whole process takes about 15 minutes.
- She's so personable. She remembers and always asks me about how work is going and how my friends are. It makes that quick wax even quicker.
- She's incredibly reasonable. $40 for a Brazillian is generally unheard of anywhere, especially in Toronto! -

I needed a new waxing place, and decided to try this one based on the really good reviews from yelp, and I'm really glad I did! Julia did a great job! She is really friendly and made me feel very comfortable while waxing certain areas! She is also quick, but at the same time very thorough (she removes every last hair!), and her prices are extremely reasonable. I sometimes break out in certain areas after waxing, so she also gave my some useful tips so I don't break out (and I didn't break out!). And she uses a different wax for more sensitive areas. And her place is also very accessible by subway (right across from Bathurst station). This is now my new waxing place!

Ok I want to start out by saying I have never written a review before, good or bad, meaning my experience was so good I had to share. Julia was fantastic!!!
I went in for my first ever pedicure (I splurged and had the spa version, $35) which included parafin wax treatment, a salt scrub on feet and legs, and all the other good stuff. I really liked that it was just her working there, not like a lot of other salons where they seem really distracted by clients coming in and out.
Her work was super professional, plus she's wonderfully friendly and sweet! She even lent me a pair of flip flops cause I came totally unprepared and forgot to wear them. You will not regret going to Julia's. I'm already planning a manicure with her soon - I can't wait! -

Julia helped me gain back my self confidence! For years I have been struggling with the embarrassment of adult and hormonal acne. It was getting to the point where I was ashamed to look people in the eye when having conversations for fear that they were only focusing on the blackheads on my forehead. I had tried everything that you could name from countless products to facials elsewhere. Nothing worked!
I had been going to see Julia for a few years for eyebrow waxing (which she also does amazingly well), and in her very nice tactful way she would mention how a facial might be helpful for me, but always stressed the fact that she was not trying to sell me anything. I admit I was reluctant at first because nothing had worked.....
I am writing this review so other women who also suffer from the frustration of adult acne can be comforted in knowing that there is help out there! Julia is simply a miracle worker......I have been going to her for facials for the last seven months and the improvements noted in my skin have been remarkable. Friends and family have been commenting on how clear my skin has been looking.
Julia is also very gentle and extremely knowledgeable in her line of work. The products that she has recommended to me have also helped maintain the improvements in my skin in between appointments.
I always look forward to going to Julia's because of the calming, relaxing atmosphere she has created as well as for her pleasant personality and skillful hands.
I have already recommended Julia to some friends and will continue to do so!
